  1. Just saw this on the news, the owner is offering a reward for an information on who did it. Here's a link: http://www.middletownjournal.com/local/content/news/stories/2006/08/08/080806lakevandalism.html Sad, sad. -james dillaman
  2. I know a couple people in GOCC, and you don't want to be their guest Seriously... -James Dillaman
  3. ^ Only if by "Fix" you meant "Raze". -James Dillaman
  4. ^ Well put, an aquatrax doesn't need water, it's only the name intamin gives a certain style of coaster, the track and vehicle design. The track, so far, is just like the aquatrax style of track, and I have not seen any flat or box track like on the multi-loopers, but maybe their waiting for those until the end??? Or maybe they completely rethought the use of the box and flat track on the multi-looper, and are going with all triangle track now... -James "Hoping for an aquatrax, for the GP's sake" Dillaman
  5. ^ Yeah, I've heard her talk about putting one in there a few years ago, but I'm pretty sure the new ride next season will be in the Thanksgiving area. A swinging ship is a great idea, but my money is on the tilt-a-whirl. -James Dillaman
  6. I'm thinking a new flat for the thanksgiving section, which is needed, as there are only 2 rides there, also a new water ride in the back by the 2 bahari attractions, as they are also not near anything else really in the waterpark. I'm not really into wondering what flat it may be, as it might even be a relocated tilt-a-whirl from elsewhere in the park that they were talking about doing this year even, but I'm interested in what might go in the waterpark. They have no body slides (I believe?) and maybe a nice slide tower like the one at geauga lake would be a great addition to the back of the park. Another thing that would add to the waterpark is either a master-blaster or a rapids ride, combination river and waterslide, like the ones found at The Beach in Cincinnati, Schlitterbahn in San Antonio, and others. I'm not too familiar with the terrain, but if they build it uphill like the voyage, that'd be perfect for the rapids tube ride, as they are normally built into hillsides. Whatever it is, it will be a well-thought out addition to one of my all-time favorite waterparks, that's for sure. -James Dillaman
  7. I just hope they grow smartly and put some of the cash in the bank. The last thing I'd like to see is them explode in growth too quickly and have financial problems. It's so rare to find a good family-owned park anymore, and Holiday world is one of the best. I wouldn't want it to be bought out by anybody. -James Dillaman
  8. ^ No one's complaining, . We all need these to make us say things like "Man, I'm glad Cedar Fair knows how to rund their parks" "Geez, I'm glad Six Flags has a great Family Atmosphere," and "At least the Paramount parks aren't filled with tacky theming." It makes us all feel a little better about home parks that we may not be proud of at all times. -James Dillaman
  9. Great Photos! Glad you had a good time at the point. Only thing I need to mention: Gemini is a steel coaster, like a giant mine ride. Just FYI, that's why it seems smoother than most woodies as you mentioned. Some great photos of Mantis, too, some of the best I've seen in a while. -James Dillaman
  10. I'm just shocked it's not painted a nicer, aqua color... Oh well. -James Dillaman
  11. I think there's one in Belgium or something... I don't know, and I don't really have time right now to do any research, as I'm literally walking out the door, but if no one posts the answer I'll find out later for you. -James Dillaman
  12. There's at least 3 that I know of. -James "Still hoping someone can post some pics of the IB one" Dillaman
  13. Why would they build a coaster that is expensive to operate. Do you have any idea how much electricity is needed to power the LIMs on the standard impulse coaster? Besides, they have plenty of room. I was there in May and just walking around the entire park.... it's huge. If you've ever been to cedar point you'd know just how much room is there, and I think SFMM has more room to expand than CP does. Anyway, the only change I predict you'll see is flashback being torn down, perhaps with a stage put up in its place for a nice, family-friendly puppet show or whatnot. This show will go on for a month and then be cancelled, like all the rest of their half-a$$ed efforts to turn so branded "thrill parks" into family parks without drastically changing the ride offerings. The only thing you need to know is SFMM will probably not be closing. That should be good enough news without them having to build another coaster... Good thing the management of Six Flags doesn't have that same mindset, or they would continue to run the company into the ground until ALL the six flags parks were forced to be sold or closed. [/rant] -James Dillaman
  14. I want to make it clear that I think Cedar Point does an awesome job in running/maintaining their parks. All these people badmouthing them will be sorry when they aren't rewarded. SoCal should be left out of any and all new coasters, as they're all disney whores anyway and will never apreciate a ride for what it is, a ride! Keep it real in Ohio, CF and build up your empire. PKI is even better since the new management has taken over. I trust you guys know what to do. As for SoB, don't worry, nobody sane likes that ride anyway. Do to it what you've done in the past with problem woodies. I wouldn't even mind a B&M clone in it's place! [/suckup to CP mode] -James Dillaman
  15. ^ Funny, that doesn't look like Indiana Beach to me, since when were there trees on the boardwalk? -JD
  16. My only comment is you left out Tatsu. You obviously have never travelled at the speed of fear. Let me tell you, that ride is worth it. I flew across the country to ride it. -James Dillaman
  17. ^ Hence the j/k. Besides, it's powered, but I guess if you count powered coasters, you should technically count it, but anyway. It's good to see the PB updates. Construction seems to be going at a pretty nice clip. Hopefully they get most of it up before the mean Great Lakes winter rolls in. -James Dillaman
  18. Well of course it's packed, It's a credit! James "j/k, Jeff Johnson" Dillaman
  19. <--- Trying to convince his new fiancé that going to europe to ride coasters is very romantic and all engaged couples should do it before they take the big plunge. -James Dillaman
  20. More likely a lightning rod. The invention of Ben Franklin that protects tall objects from lightning strikes by catching the electricity and carrying it to the ground through a wire so the structure won't be damaged. -James "Has a lightning rod on his house" Dillaman
  21. $79 plus the normal admission -James Dillaman
  22. I just saw a small photo in the latest issue of rollercoaster, but would still appreciate if someone could post some pics here. Thanks, -James Dillaman
  23. I'm pretty sure the viking fury at PKI is the same size as the one you pictured. I don't know of any others that size, but I'm fairly sure that qualifies as one of that size in the states. It seats 4-6 people in each row. Here's a pic: Viking Fury -James "I might still be wrong, I don't know" Dillaman
  24. ^ You haven't been on my favorite Rainbow/Falling Star: Twister II? You haven't lived -James Dillaman
