  1. ^ yeah.... Until you've been on a B&M Hyper, you can't understand. Even comparing vortex to anything B&M has built is almost laughable at best. Besides, even if you like Vortex, that was the largest steel coaster installed at KI. It was premiered in 1987!!! It's time for a new, GOOD steel coaster, NOT geared towards families or children. -James Dillaman
  2. Guitar Hero III code: 2664-0357-6369 BRING IT!!!! -James "seriously, I want some competition/co-op worthy players" Dillaman (My screen name on GHIII is Jammy Dee, have fun!)
  3. Nothing compares (in my experiences) to when my fiance and I were stuck in the air on Monster at King's Island, baking in the afternoon sun (monster is black, too, so gets very hot anyway) for over 25 minutes. I thought I was going to get sick it was so uncomfortable. -James Dillaman
  4. I've gone before, and I'm pretty sure it still holds true: The coasters and other rides stay open through the end of the season except on days when the weather and/or temperture interferes. I can't remember what it is, but I want to say 45 or 50 degrees or so is the cutoff.... -James Dillaman
  5. If SWAT was so great (I've been on in when it was at Astroworld), why weren't more built? Look at all the Screamin Swings that have popped up everywhere. Why aren't we seeing more swats? There's got to be a good reason, whether it's operating costs, capacity, or guest comments. I thought it was an okay ride, but I've been on better. -James Dillaman
  6. wow, that looks awful. Prayers go out to the families involved. Why didn't the loss of power stop the lift from running and sending another boat down the drop? I don't understand. If it did stop at the same time, then they are running boats too close together. -James Dillaman
  7. Yeah, we were there the 13th. Only got on Top Thrill Dragster (front seat), Magnum (great ride, not painful at all if you don't sit on top of a wheel like an idiot!), Skyhawk, Raptor, Cedar Downs, Wicked Twister, and Millenium Force. It was crowded like I've never seen it, but we still had a great time. And the food at Chick-Fil-A was decent, but the bees were horrible early on in the day. -James Dillaman
  8. ^ But the city has to approve whatever that land is used for, so any potential buyer would still have to clear it with the city before demolishing the park. -James Dillaman
  9. More importantly, will that Cantilevered concept ever be built? I think I like that design more than the S&S/Arrow 4-D design. -James Dillaman
  10. My last ride on thunderhead was extremely rough in just one of the seats we rode in, about 3 from the back. I think there was a whell problem, though, as it was making a god awful sound through the course. We rode it in the back seat and it was much smoother. I just found it odd that they'd let it run like that all day. It did NOT sound right at all. Still one of my favorite rides, though. -James Dillaman
  11. ^ TT just didn't make my list because it's the shortest of the multi-elements, and it's over before you realize it's started. It does have the best drop/ first loop of any arrow. -James Dillaman
  12. I love most arrow rides, but three of my favorites are Magnum XL-200 Adventure Express Viper (SFMM) -James "People need to give the mine trains more love!" Dillaman
  13. I have nothing against six flags, and I think their passes are a much better deal than CF's season passes ($140?!?!?) I was just saying I think silly hype things such as this are secondary and if they provided a better guest experience in their parks, they wouldn't have to be hyping up getting free season passes like this. That was my point. -James Dillaman
  14. I think these stunts are a sign of a chain desperate to hype up tired season pass sales, not to mention halloween events that just aren't up to par with other park's. -James Dillaman
  15. No, their paving it over. SFMM is being torn down, remember, so why update their page with passes for a park that won't exist anymore? -James Dillaman ^Edit: I knew I should've typed faster
  16. The best part about this is adding another restroom, pepsi oasis, and more seating to their waterpark. As a very popular section of the park during the hot summer days, it can be amazingly crowded. I've been there many times when there was not a seat to be found. Also it will keep many kids out of the wavepool, which is a pet peeve of mine (unsupervised kids in the wavepool bumping into everybody and not paying attention). 2 acres added will mean more room for the crowds in Splashin' Safari to disperse a little. -James Dillaman
  17. If it's truly something they've wanted for a long time, it has to be a carousel. Family park without a carousel? Guess we'll all find out soon enough, huh? Counting down the hours. -James Dillaman
  18. The biggest complaint I heard was that they weren't able to slack off like they used to, and the rules are being more strictly enforced, such as not riding in your uniform when you're not working, tucking in shirts, short length (girls being too short and guys being too long), etc. This was talking to numerous returners towards the start of the year, and to be fair I haven't been to the park in over a month. Overall, I thought ride operations were improved. The operators seemed friendlier and the food and games staff more enthusiastic. The nightmare of SoB and Firehawk being the big draws this year and then being down for numerous maintenence problems is a drawback, but CF didn't build SoB, so I can't fault them completely for that mess. Firehawk was a mistake, and would have been better at a park with smaller crowds, as lines are horribly long. Time will tell as far as KI is concerned, at least IMHO. -James Dillaman
  19. ^ Yeah, remember night rides after the rain..... mmmmm. -James Dillaman
  20. I thought either Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg was going to get zorbs... anyone remember? Anyway, awesome TR. If I had a job with time off, I'd love to go on one of these... Maybe Someday... -James Dillaman
  21. Wait, I'm confused. Shouldn't Ober Gatlinburg be on this list? Isn't it one of the best amusement parks outside of Orlando? -James Dillaman
  22. "People with Back or Neck Problems should not ride" -James Dillaman
  23. quoted for truth. There is just too many coincidences in this story for the two to be completely innocent. -James Dillaman
  24. Yeah, of the 2 Screamin Swings I've been on, Kennywood's cycle KILLS CP's cycle. -James Dillaman
