  1. Its probarly not rough since most turns are slow and R&E's Big Boom video didn't sound to rough. Anyways, looks like a good coaster! A fun high-G loop and maybe some airtime here and there.
  2. Owen, i never said YOU have to count the Inamin Hypers, i just said you should accept the opinions of the people who do, becouse of the various reasons why EGF and Goliath look a lot like hypers (and ARE hypers IMO and those of others).
  3. Ow, I dindn't know Alpine Coasters could have bunny hills, but still, its the brakes on the cars that don't make it a coaster IMO.
  4. It doesn't go up plus you can brake and stop wherever you want to, so no IMO it doesn't count, but i would understand if other people count it since it feels really "coaster-ish" and it meets a lot of the criteria (rolling down with gravity n'all). I myself sometimes doubt if it is a coaster or not, but everytime its the fact that it has brakes that convinces me its not. Scenic Railways have brakemans, yes, but that is something else since the the brakeman always brakes at the same critical parts of the coaster every time, plus its an professional, plus Scenic Railways go up, so those i would count as coasters.
  5. Becouse hypers don't have inversions and aren't made of wood! And i know that hypers are supposed to be over 200ft, but except for the height, EGF and Goliath fit perfectly into the definition of a hyper coaster, plus Intamin itself calls it a "hyper coaster" so it mus be one! If you can't accept that then at least accept them to be a sort of "mini hyper", and we're counting them in this race becouse otherwise we would have only 2 hypers to discuss about and thats just to sad... So yeah IMO EGF and Goliath are hypers, i don't expect you to share that opinion just accept the fact that they count as a (mini) hyper in this particular thread. Ow yeah and chill out dude you're taking this way to serious!
  6. I think by saying hyper coaster we should not look at the height but at the type of coaster, sure EGF and Goliath aren't 200ft high but they're coasters mainly consisting out of airtime hills and turns, so basically they're hyper coasters without the height, or a "mini hyper" as some like to call it. (Mini) Hypers in Europe: Expedition GeForce, Goliath, Pepsi Max Big One, Silver Star. The best one would probarly be EGF, i've only ridden Goliath and it was great so EGF is probarly like heaven! Silver Star is probarly second or third best, and PMBO gets last place.
  7. No offence but haven't we got enough clones in this world? However good Falken is, a custom design is always more fun becouse of the different experience it provides, maybe even better than Falken. Unfortunately small parks don't care much for building custom coasters since the guests of those kind of parks are mostly local residents and not Roller Coaster enhuisiasts. So if they ever build a woodie they might just go with your idea. Yeah i'm not a big fan of clones. Anyways, on topic: Yay for a possible new coaster for this great park! And maybe an Intamin Wooden Prefab! It would be so cool to have another Prefab and maybe with a cool unique lay-out becouse of Alton's height restrictions.
  8. Almost all of their smooth coasters have an outside-the-track wheel design, they must have realized that so now they will probarly build most of their new coasters in this way.
  9. Wow awsome! Another good Schwarzkopf saved! Now i will get the chance to ride this great coaster !
  10. As i said during the earlier rumors of this coaster closing...... SH*T!!! I can't believe i'm not going to be able to ever ride this great coaster! What a stupid move of the park, taking out their best coaster, i hope they put in something good in its place or else just close the park now and get it over with.
  11. Wow i must have missed that picture, the OTSR looks cool! They could really make the ride feel a bit smoother. It looks like it'll be like the restraints on the Vekoma Flying Coasters, can anybody here tell me how the Flying Vekoma's restraints feel?
  12. I rode one this summer in Bellewaerde Park (Belgium), and i must say it was pretty good, its like an S&S Space Shot tower but after falling down after the launch, you are pushed back up to the top to hang there for a few seconds and then you are dropped back into the brakes (Its like an S&S tower and afterwards an Intamin freefall). The capacity is also better becouse there are more seats then S&S's towers. The downsides are: 1- When you are pushed back up, it makes a really loud noise! 2- IMO Intamin freefalls are still a little bit better then this one becouse they provide more airtime then Huss's tower. But they're still very good towers, only not the best IMO.
  13. We've had a thread like this before, here it is: www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28958&highlight=tokyo+disneysea Hope that helps you...
  14. Ow yeah i forgot about that one, that was one hell of a drop! Its a small tower so i didn't expect it to be so intens! The capacity is low but the ride ops where running around like crazy to load and unload as fas as humanly possible, talk about efficiency! Thow i still think Mystery Castle is better (theming and all), i must say this one comes close.
  15. The controll tower is in the middle but that isn't high. Don;t know how you can fly by people in the middle then ??? My favorite program is the one i got yesterday again: Shot to the half of the tower, then slowly go down with the loud voice of the professor that tells you to look up. The when your down a loud noice is provided up in the tower and then your shot up in the tower to stick there a few seconds. And then the shot down with a small bungee after it to end the ride. I ment in the middle as in half up the tower, they were standing in some sort of maintenance car hanging by cables, they where there looking at the track and doing maintenance stuff i guess.
  16. ^ Yeah Mystery Castle at Phantasialand for me to! Great ride! I only rode it once becouse of the crowds, but it was one hell of a ride! (my program: got shot up, stopped at the top, got some music & light effects, and then fell down again). I dindn't know there was more then one program thow. The problem that day was that only 2 of 6 cars were working, the other 4 where being fixed, so that way the line was really long. What was also fun was that we flew by a bunch of people a couple of times who where working on the ride in the middle of the tower.
  17. Maybe a "Mountain Glider" like the one their building in Walibi Belgium is a good idea? They just need a few places to put up the giant supports and the station, the track can fly over the rest of the park. But then again i don't know if these coasters are any good becouse they still have to get the one at WBB working. Just an idea... (100th post yay!)
  18. Nice TR!, and Happy (already passed) Birthday! Its a shame Katapult was down, it looks like a fun Schwarzkopf. I might be in Italy next year for a vacation so hopefully i will get to Mirabilandia and ride Katapult and Katun to.
  19. Awsome! I can't wait to see these trains put to use! Hopefully they will work and really smoothen up new Vekoma's, i love how Vekoma has been coming up with cool concepts the last few years (Motorbike, Inverted Family - with these cool new cars,...).
  20. I actually enjoy riding kiddie coasters at parks! My favorite: Oki Doki (The Clown Coaster) at Bobbejaanland! I must of rode it 3 times the day i took this picture!
  21. Lots of Schwarzkopf coasters are dissapearing lately, its just becouse they're old and are expensive to maintain, wich is probarly the main reason in this case to. Other, more popular Schwarzkopf designs (Looping Star, Custom Loopers, Shuttle Loop,...) don't dissapear so easily, but these Jet Star coasters may not have been popular enough to keep them running with such high maintenance costs. Its a sad thing and all we can do is hope that Schwarzkopf's best coasters stay in operation as long as possible.
  22. ^ Thx that would be nice! Looks like they have one of those cool underwater walk through things to!
  23. Plus Air was the first B&M flying coaster so when it opened it was very popular, so now when you surf the net you can still find lots of articles from when this coaster was still big news. Thats what i'd guess...
  24. It has a credit yay!!! www.rcdb.com/id3389.htm I read about this park before, and it looks like an OK park, maybe if i ever visit Siam Park i might as well go there to! Otherwise Tenerife doesn't interest me much, sea and sun aren't my kind of vacation requirements, coasters are! No offence to the cool local inhabitant Lincow .
