  1. The Lego Movie is completely shut out by the Oscars as a Best Animated Feature category. What a total screw-job!
  2. They do. And it works fine if you are smart about it...
  3. The Imitation Game is really good. That Sherlock is a good actor..
  4. That's probably your fault. There were a handful of truly great films this year. I haven't seen one critic say Into The Woods is one of them (still a perfectly fine movie as I saw for myself last weekend). There are websites. There are no reasons to go into a movie thinking its the next Mary Poppins if no one else is saying it is...
  5. People really love an icon to take a selfie in front of. Its kind of sad that people seem to care more about proving to other people they were at a particular place with an obvious photo than actually enjoying the beauty of the place they are currently at The hat was an eyesore. Good riddance...
  6. Two of my favorite things in the world - Disney Parks and Turner Classic Movies (I'm a huge fan of movies from all eras) - are joining forces. What's not to love? I always liked the Great Movie Ride, although I would prefer it be a traditional dark ride without a "tour guide". But its still a cool experience. I like that they're updating the pre-show, and hope more changes are on the way. That's one ride that could really go through entire show scene changes every decade or so, although I would never touch Oz or the Alien scene. Those are too great...
  7. This stuff is like crack to me:
  8. A very delicious IPA is the one sold by Lagunitas (out of NorCal). They also have a very tasty brown ale called Lagunitas Sucks. Across the board, they are one of my favorite micros...
  9. You, sir, are disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself. Oh, and I vote for Anna...
  10. When I last went down 7 or 8 years ago, Big Thunder Mountain was supposed to be down the whole week we were there, but it opened our third day and stayed open (about a week earlier than they had posted on their website). On that same visit, Carousel of Progress was supposed to re-open from refurb on day 4 of our five-day trip, but it never did. I think I read that it opened about 2 days after we left (4 days late in total IIRC). So, yeah, you never know for sure...
  11. Yeah, I thought you used to be able to delete your own post if was the last one and no one had responded after you, but apparently not. But I guess someone would have to actually spent more than 10 minutes of their life on the internet to understand what "double post" refers to, so...
  12. double post
  13. One time in my life, I want to encounter pix of a pee family truckster, just so I can know what it is. That is an obvious reference (to anyone over 13) to the car from National Lampoon's Vacation. It was the station wagon that was a color that in the movie was called "metallic pea". And even if his spelling of "pee" is correct, the joke still works. But yeah, he's the dumb one because you didn't get the reference....
  14. Phoenix is one of the greatest wooden coasters ever made. So, yeah....
  15. ...the queue line for your unpopular 1990s/early 2000s coaster has a mile and a half queue line with no shortcuts...
  16. I'm running into a similar dilemma, although I think I have it figured out. We're driving next summer out to San Diego, with Legoland as the main attraction (yes, my wife and son are Lego freaks). But also because we are meeting in-laws out there. And hitting sights along the way, Griswold-style. I am the lone adult male, so I have managed to work in some baseball excursions, and am looking to do a solo roller coaster trip. Originally it was between Magic Mountain & Knott's (I've been to DLR & USH before), but I want to see Angels Stadium, so I will probably be taking a solo side-trip up to OC to catch an Angels' game, followed by a full day at KBF. I love dark rides almost as much as coasters, so it makes a ton of sense to go that route. But I still have to come back to hit the coasters at MM...
  17. I've never been to my home park alone (SFSTL), but I have been to World of Fun and Silver Dollar City by myself several times. I have also been to Kings Island once by myself as a detour on one of my solo baseball trips...
  18. edit: double post
  19. I've been on every coaster named after famous 1970s stuntmen...
  20. This rocks about 100 different ways. Awesome job!
  21. Are these coasters weird like the Chinese guy in Mike's room?
  22. Yeah, I can't see how anyone would have fun on a coaster that isn't my perfect idea of what one should be. People and their fun....weird-o-rama....
  23. If I were a melodramatic drama queen, I would cry when.... ...I drive by the old Celebration City graveyard in Branson and look at the completely useless, once-great Ozark Wildcat. I almost well up with tears when I look at it. OK, you get the idea. Go!
