  1. It wasn't that bad before, in no way did the ride make me want to kill myself. I rode it 4 months ago, and 30 seconds after the lift hill, I wanted Valkyries to lift my body from the ride and ascend my mortal soul away from this evil world into Valhalla. And I'm not even Scandinavian! So in summary, yes, GhostRider circa 2015 made me want to become a dead Viking...
  2. This restoration is great news. I think a large wildfire that burned it to the ground would have been better news, so they could build an actual coaster that doesn't want to make me kill myself. But if they can actually make it decent, I'm all for it!
  3. I like to binge BBC series since you can complete whole seasons (usually around 6 episodes) in like two nights....and also because they are often excellent. Sherlock, Black Mirror, and The Fall are 3 recent ones I've binged...
  4. 8/10 Fried Cheese Curds
  5. Everything on Mars was in 3-D. That is more than 7%. Granted, none of the Earth-bound stuff really needs to be in 3-D, but the Mars exteriors are fantastic. But at the same time, I also agree with you that you don't need to see it in 3-D to enjoy it. It's good any which way. Also, to the guy who was wondering about IMAX, I'm pretty sure it's not in IMAX anywhere. Nowhere here in STL either..
  6. Just a spectacular movie. I didn't read the book, but the movie is nothing short of FANTASTIC! Matt Damon is superb, probably the best role of his career. Ridley Scott's (Alien, Blade Runner) best movie in a LOOOONG time. So much excitement, comedy (yes, comedy), and a great supporting cast. And it's SMART without being too hard to follow. What a Grade-A crowd-pleasing blockbuster. This is what Hollywood still does right. Must see...on the big screen. In 3D is highly recommended...
  7. First off: Who are you to call somebody "stupid", or get pissed off at them, just because because they enjoyed a coaster that you think is terrible?!?! I mean... what?!?! This. First of all, don't get all judge-y on me, because I said nothing to no one. I kept my thoughts to myself at the time. No one was...or is...hurt by my comments. And I came here to vent. I call these people "morons" without naming nor knowing any of the people who rode on that one train on that one ride 2 months ago. But it is my opinion that anyone who can high-five after that torture is clueless and deserving of my derision. And even that is 100% anonymous because no one knows who I am, and I don;t know them. So big whoop. So what's the big effing deal? I was just being honest with how I felt after practically having that ride knock me out of the rest of my visit to KBF because of what it did to my 46 year-old body. Sue me for being honest...
  8. Its good to hear GR is getting some tender loving care. I rode it for the first time this past June. And while after reading this forum, I knew to expect a very bumpy ride, yet it exceeded my expectations for suckage. And what made it even more annoying is that literally every other person on my train thought it was the best ride ever. I was just like, "wow". I wouldn't wish a ride on that pile of crap on my worst enemy. That said, I like the layout and can imagine how awesome it was before it fell into disrepair...
  9. I was just on Ghostrider last month for he first time, and it drove me nuts that all the morons who got off it when I did were high-fiving each other and saying how awesome it was. I was so pissed about the god-awful ride that I was very casually saying to no no one in particular that that may been the worst roller coaster experience I've had in my long life. Because it was. I know it was once a great ride, but jesus....it was like standing in line at the DMV with a rabid marmot down my trousers. Just pure torture. People are generally pretty stupid...
  10. Your use of the word "anymore" is rather disturbing...
  11. I agree drop towers are more freaky than any coaster, but those WindSeekers freak me out more than anything...
  12. River King Mine Train at Six Flags Over Mid-America, circa 1974
  13. You could definitely be justified making that argument. For me, it shares the top 3 with Xcelerator and Montezooma's. Yeah, I left out Montezooma's. That is a a helluva lot of fun too. Of course, its my first ever launched Schwarzkopf, since Greezed Lightnin' was closed when I went to Kentucky Kingdom in 2003...
  14. I just made my first trip ever to KBF, and while I really enjoyed Xcelerator, Silver Bullet, Iron Reef, and the Calico Mine Ride, am I the only person who thinks the Timber Mountain Log Ride is the best ride in that park? Man, for a non-Disney dark/water ride, it is really spectacular!
  15. Yeah, I never understood the belief that WDW's HM was better mostly because it had that one extra scene, which frankly isn't that great. Its mostly just the marble busts, and those are at the DL version in the hallway between the stretching rooms & the loading area. And you can stand there and look at them all you want. And the extra narration at WDW ("our library is stocked...") isn't anything special. Of course, now that WDW's has the MC Escher stairways scene, it might be better. But only slightly. And I'll take the original facade, even though its less menacing than the WDW version, any day...
  16. Man, I'm loving all this talk about Injun Joe's Cave. What memories. I think my parents brought us out there the first year or two it opened. I was afraid of Injun Joe's Cave for a few years, but by around 1975, I was going on it. Between that and the amazing Krofft Puppet Theater shows, Six Flags had such a cool 70s theme vibe to it. As someone who watched the Krofft shows like HR Pufnstuf and Sigmund & the Seamonsters, the whole post-psychedelic, dayglow look to those attractions just fascinated my young 6 year old self. Throw into the mix the Adventures on the Mississippi ride, the Tiltmore Hotel fun house walkthrough, and themed dual-track mine train, Six Flags just had such an old west, adventurous, slightly scary feel (to a little kid) that I couldn't get enough of. Those early years at Six Flags are why I am obsessed with Disney parks and highly themed attractions in general. And the groovy 70s was in full effect as well with the puppet show and the shop across from it called 'Its a Mod, Mod, Mod Whirl', which specialized in totally groovy gear for the kids (I remember it featuring many blacklight posters....and a Richard Nixon mask sticks out in my mind....for some reason ). Other things that stuck out were smell of the creosote (railroad ties) around the park, especially near the mine train, and the soundtrack aroound the park (I remember the theme from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly being a popular tune heard). My favorite memory of Injun Joe's Cave was at the very beginning of the where you go from the lighted cue into a very small cavern of almost complete darkness, then you start to hear crickets, then you see these flourescent frogs signing. What a great beginning...
  17. The Boss, Ninja, Shazam, Rush Street Flyer, and the Antique Cars. So its TOTALLY worth it!!!
  18. I will make my first trip to KBF this June, but of the one's I've visited: 1. Cedar Point 2. Kings Dominion 3. Kings Island 4. Dorney Park 5. Worlds of Fun 6. Valleyfair!
