  1. I guess I see some of your guys' points about how the cheapness of the passes just brings out more "riff raff". So I say they give an "Old Farts" discount to the over 30 crowd.
  2. quote from ginzo: Please, no!!! I going to SFSTL, SFGadv, SFNE, and SFGam all for a total of 45 dollars!!!!!
  3. I was #10, but I sucked so they shortened the list.
  4. Really?!?! 40-plus responses about a PAINT JOB!!?!?! GEE! IT'S RED!!! OMG!!!!
  5. When was Green Day actually original punk and not derivitave? That's what they are!!
  6. At least they didn't pick any of the Jesus..god..awful Chili Peppers music produced since that 1989 album (except maybe Blood SugarSexMagic in '91). Seriously.....did another band ever go from the penthouse to the sh*thouse as violently as these sellouts?!?!? Now Disney?!?! Are these the same guys who played their live shows with tube socks over their genitalia in the 1980s?!?!
  7. If anyone's interested, I think I figured it out. I got a 10 dollar discount for living outside the immediate area of SFSTL. And I live in St. Louis CITY!! They ask you for your zip code before you purchase online. I tried a zip code closer to the park, and it was 10 dollars higher!! I only live 30 min. away! The lesson here is: if anyone who lives more than a half hour away from SFSTL is gonna be in this area, order a pass online now and pay 45 bucks, then come to the park and get your pass!
  8. My wife and I got them online today. They were advertised as 54.99 but they charged us 44.99 each for what were labelled "Outer Market Season Passes". I noticed that it was the higher price to RENEW one from last year!! Can anyone explain this? It kind of seems a little too cheap to be true - it's cheaper than a one-day admission!! And why the hell is it more expensive for renewals!?!?
  9. Kentucky Rambler...July 13th. Jeez! Has it been THAT long?!?!
  10. Mine would be the Jet Scream! - Coaster Extreme at STSTL
  11. In a similar fashion, I like to play the "count the number of obese women at Dollywood" game. Seriously, I have a picture somewhere of the train station where there are...no kidding...9 really fat women in one snapshot. I'll have to find it, scan it, and post it.
  12. Robb, I see that you really get what the point of my original post was. I felt my response to that family was my way of standing up to line-cutters (polite or not) everywhere. I guess us grumpy old men think alike.
  13. B:TR at SFSTL....boy, that was difficult due to the HUGE selection** **sarcasm
  14. El Toro, KK, Nitro, S:ROS at SFNE (only been on one at SFA), Flying Turns at Knoebel's
  15. My first was the River King Mine Train at Six Flags Over Mid-America. I was probably 5 or so.
  16. I'm glad several of you see it like I do. I think it takes a certain degree of nerve to ask someone to wait longer so that they can have a shorter wait. Its just human courtesy that you dont put a person in that situation. Those kind of people are the same ones who think everyone within a 30 foot radius of them want to hear their frickin cell phone conversation! They might as well shout, "I AM THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE!!!!!"
  17. I agree with the single rider thing. And this family wasn't being pushy. But I waited for almost 45 minutes (right after park opening/one-train operation/testing second train/slow load process) and my wife and one-year old were waiting for me. So I felt this family should be more considerate than to ask someone to move ahead, knowing that most people wouldn't have the nerve to say no. I would never put someone in that situation, so I feel others should not take advantage of people's good nature and essentially "politely line-jump". Just my opinion...
  18. ...if they could move IN FRONT of you in line for a coaster? I ride a lot of coasters by myself (when the wife's preggo). This past summer while waiting almost 40 minutes for the front car of The Voyage, a family of four asked me if two of them could move up in front of me so they could ride together with the other two. I'm not normally confrontational, but I told them, "No. You other two need to move back. That's how it works. " I felt kind of bad, but I knew I did the right thing. They needed to learn about coaster etiquette. Anyone else agree?
  19. Agreed...Mammoth Cave is a great place to visit. If you like to camp, it could be a good 3-4 days. There are several different and fun (and long) cave tours, and its a beautiful national park.
  20. If PGA's Grizzly (which I've never ridden) is noticeably worse than PKD's version (which I regret having ridden), then it must be the worse woodie in America. I thought PKD's was close to the least fun and most uncomfortable woodies I've ridden (including SOB, Mean Streak, and Gwazi!)
  21. I know how you feel (I loved my home park, SFSTL, more before it actually got modern coasters like BTR & MrF and lost the cheesy but fun themed rides). But having been to PKD only once (2005), Volcano was the one ride that I missed when I left. But I have to mention that I enjoyed the park very much - I thought it kicked the crap out of Kings Island!
  22. Mine was mostly Florida parks in March: WDW, BGA, SWO, IOA, USF - all new credits except 4 that I rode in 1989. Also went to Holiday World & IB (Voyage only new credit); Dollywood & Beech Bend (all new credits). Highlights: EE, Voyage, Sheikra, Kentucky Rambler, ROTM. All in all a great year (I've always freakin' loved WDW since I was 9 and I got to go for 1st time since I was 20 - wow, has it changed - so it was extra great!)
  23. Muppets from Space? Nope. Hint...Molly Ringwald was in it.
  24. I would say Shockwave @ PKD......ouuuch
  25. "..It gets so real sometimes...Who wrote my rhymes?.."
