Kickstarter is a great idea, but I feel that Indiegogo is a more effective approach at earning donations for projects, products, etc. The difference being, if your goal is not reached on Kickstarter, all of the money that has been donated is then refunded to the person that donated it. With Indiegogo, you get to keep the money that has been donated even if your goal is not reached, and I believe that indiegogo just keeps a small percentage. I see where each has it's advantages and disadvantages, but I would personally use Indiegogo if choosing. I know people that have used both and all of them preferred Indiegogo.

I only buy DVD's right now. I've never downloaded any type of video or movie, and would prefer to keep it that way. With that said, I wouldn't object to you not doing a DVD. I mean, I HAVE to have my Roller Coasters in the RAW fix, so if it's only available on Blu-Ray or for download, it would be incentive for me to join the rest of the world and purchase a Blu-Ray player, which isn't a bad thing.

Photo TR: Megan's China Trip with TPR!

Another awesome update, Megan. Very entertaining! Seeing the Great Wall in person is one of the things that I've always wanted to do. Again, looking forward to the rest of your updates. -
The BEST roller coaster view EVER???
STR8FXXXINEDGE replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In all honesty, even without the incentive of the Bag-O-Crap, I really do think it is the best roller coaster view ever! BUT, that Chinese Bag-O-Crap would be great to add to my collection of nerdy park stuff to bug people who don't care about my hobby with, lol. -

Great start to your TR, Megan! Glad you guys had such an awesome time. Wish I could've been there to experience it all for myself. Guess I'll live vicariously through your trip report. Looking forward to the rest! -
Yeah, I've got to agree with the ladies on this one. This is kind of a dickish post. As a matter of fact, most of your posts in this thread are kind of dickish and snarky, not to mention pushy. Big Mike is just having fun with life and traveling as much as he can, and when he gets the time, he shares it with us. He even goes WAY out of his way to provide us with games and prizes, which he definitely has to do none of. Sometimes there just isn't time for updates. Sometimes people actually have to live life. I know that Big Mike would never call anyone out on here, as he wouldn't want to offend anyone or hurt anyone's feelings, so I'm doing it for me, cause your posts kind of tick me off. Big Mike is one of, if not the nicest, most caring people I've ever met. Give it a rest. Like Brandy said, keep up the good work, Big Mike! I know I've been kind of slacking on my posts lately, cause school has consumed me. But, I do check in enough to keep updated and always look forward to your updates. Hope you and Megan are having a blast in China, and safe travels on your way back!

I started my first day of college today. 32 y/o and just started college, lol. Anyway... the first thing my Geography teacher said when he walked in the room was "Ok, you're either in this class cause you desperately need it to graduate, or you didn't read ratemyprofessor.com". He seems like a.... not so nice guy. Also, the last time I had math was in high school like 16 years ago. The crap we covered in my math class today was WAY over my head! I'm excited for my drawing class tomorrow, though. At least I care about that!

Hey, Big Mike... be sure to keep me informed on if you're coming this weekend. I'll definitely plan out time to come hang out at Kokomo's with you and Megan (assuming she's coming along). Also, I've been crazy busy getting ready for school along with about 1,000 other things and unfortunately have had to neglect your thread the past couple of weeks. I've missed some ducky rounds, among some other stuff. Hopefully I can get caught up Sunday night!

^ I loved the aquarium! I was so bummed when they ripped it all out. I believe they had an arcade in the building for a while before tearing it down, didn't they? -

That's just because your legs are like 6 feet long. -

After seeing what has been leaked, I'm pretty excited for this thing. I also really like the name. I guess I'm gonna have to figure out a way to make an opening day CP trip for the first time in a couple years. -
^ That's awesome, man! Congrats!

A guy goes to the store to buy a box of condoms. The cashier says "Do you need a bag, sir?" The guys says "No, she's not THAT ugly!"

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

It's about damn time! Thankfully, I was able to ride it with and without the loop, and I thought it was the worst thing I'd ever ridden with and without the loop. The only good thing about it was it's looks. That's a big chunk of land that was just going to waste. I would love to see an Intamin prefab go there, or even something crazy from RMC. I'm having trouble remembering exactly what the terrain is like around SOB, but isn't there a nice ravine type thing that Flight Deck and Adventure Express goes down in? If there's any room left in there, it would be cool to see some of that utilized, too. -
Flowriders - The evil within...
STR8FXXXINEDGE replied to KBrylczyk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ yeah, I can imagine it would be a different feeling. I guess it doesn't remind of skateboarding as much as it does the carving motion of snowboarding. I'm also making myself sound to confident here. I know I would eat sh*t a handful of times before getting the hang of it, haha. -

I've always wanted to try one of these. I skateboarded for about 15 years, and have been snowboarding for about 16 years. I could be wrong, but it looks like it's the same concept. -

Wow, this is incredible! Like others have said, the photos look great for being from that time period, and also for being scanned in from slides. Hell, they look better than some of the digital photos I've seen posted, haha. Seriously though, thanks for taking the time to post these and for the detailed captions. I love the mermaids! -
Leviathan Bash! Canada's Wonderland
STR8FXXXINEDGE replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hello everyone, I'm hoping that someone can help me out here. I have been trying and trying to find a way to make Leviathan Bash happen, but times have been hard and I haven't been able to make it work. Well, tonight the money that I should be spending on other, more important things (like rent and car insurance, among other boring grown up things) just happened to fall in my lap tonight. The problem with this is, it's just a few hours too late. Leviathan Bash is sold out! So, I was wondering if anyone out there in TPR land would happen to have an extra ticket for Leviathan Bash? Maybe you can't make it now, or someone that was supposed to go with you had to back out? If so, please let me know. I would be more than happy to buy the ticket from you. Even if you find out very last minute on Saturday, let me know. I will drive through the night to get my butt there in the morning. It would mean the world to me! Thank you, -Brian (fingers and toes crossed) Raymond P.S. If it's something that you don't want to post in the forum about, feel free to PM me. EDIT: Well, something that is nothing short of a miracle has happened. I'm heading out for the bash sometime tomorrow morning! A very HUGE thank you to Keith (Chip422) for helping me out and making this all possible. A special thanks also goes out to Robb, for providing that TPR magic. See you all there!
