Busch Gardens Montu Question
doom1001 replied to sixflagsgadvguy1000's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Montu and Sheikra are very smooth, even though Kumba is the oldest of their major coasters I don't find it to be too rough but be careful with your head getting bumped around against the restraints.Gwazi has always been somewhat rough but lately in my last visits it seems to have gotten to the point that if you don't break a rib on it you've done good.It used to be "Fun" rough, now it's "Ouch"rough. -
Great news,I so hope it does get built as I've been waiting for the proposed Miami Metrozoo waterpark that's been in the planning stages for like 10 years now.Right now I have an hour and a half drive to the nearest waterpark,Rapids in West Palm Beach which is OK but I'm sure a brand new Shlitterbahn will top it and will shorten my drive to 45 minutes. It won't be as close as that proposed Metrozoo waterpark which would be 5 minutes away but I love waterparks and would probably hit that Ft.Lauderdale Shlitterbahn several times every year.

Nothing against Kumba as I still think it's an amazing ride, but I have to go with Kraken,I love the drop and it being a floorless there's very few rides that I prefer over a front row ride on Kraken. With that said Kumba's pacing of the ride is amazing,it's a more intense non-stop ride and it has one thing Kraken doesn't and that's the howling noise that ride makes, certain times I just like to stand on the bridge leading to it's queue and just listen to it.Any clue when BGT will paint it,it's been needing it for so long.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
doom1001 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Rip Ride Rockit this Saturday April 17th,4 times in singles 10-25 minute waits each time with stand by line ranging from 75-90 minutes.Music of choice Pump up the Volume and Devil went down to Georgia. -
Rapids is an OK waterpark but still 1 1/2 hours from my house, but a brand new Shlitterbahn would be amazing and closer to me.I really hope this one does get built seeing as how I'm loosing hope for the proposed waterpark and theme park that's supposed to be getting built next to the Miami Metrozoo that would be 5 minutes from me.

Are they not going to get a new paint job for Potter,I mean if you're going to change an already cool coaster with a great theme you should go out and really change it up,paint one green and one purple if you have to.The way I look at it if you're going to change the theme do it and don't leave us a coaster that still kind of looks like Dueling Dragons, but not really.

Going to parks alone?
doom1001 replied to alilstronger's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm good if I'm at a theme park with others,I'm good if I'm at a theme park by myself,in short I'm good as long as I'm at a theme park. -

Every time I pass by Dinosaur World on I-4 I think of the Martin Short movie "Clifford" where he played a 10 year old that wanted to go to Dinosaur World. Here's a clip. -

This is just my dreamy opinion, of course, but I think that BGE is going to be getting a terrain-hugging B&M flyer in the future... I could see it being called "Drachen". wouldn't it be cool to have a flyer utilize the same drop into the lake BBW had. -
Ride You Felt Was Unsafe?
doom1001 replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can tell you of one time when I didn't feel unsafe, but knew I was unsafe.Miami Dade County fair riding the Rainbow and we get sent up and the vertical bars that come down never did,we got up about 20-30 feet and luckily me and my brother were in the end seat so we were able we to yell to the ride attendant to stop the ride which luckily he did. -
Is this a borrowed train from another park?I hear that it is so they can determine if they'll make the switch.I don't understand why they would even need to test the new trains, only if they haven't ridden the coaster lately,my last 2 rides have been downright painful.I used to love this ride,it was shaky but tolerable shaky now it just hurts.

I was at Sea World for the first show since her death,I was sitting in the Platinum pass area right behind about 4 rows full of other park employees and even what I think were a few family members. The tribute to her was at the beginning of the show and didn't last long at all but several of the employees and other trainers couldn't hold back their tears,it was pretty sad.Once the rest of the show started the mood somewhat changed, like she would have wanted it to go on.I've never been a huge fan of any of the Shamu shows, but seeing as how I was in Orlando staying at a hotel that was walking distance to the park I had to be there for that one.My favorite shows at Sea World are the Sea Lions Tonight and Pets Ahoy,I always find it amazing how they get those dogs, cats and even a mouse and a skunk to do those commands. The best part of the day was getting 4 rides in a row with no wait on Manta as the park was very empty due to 40 something degree weather with light rain and a totally gray sky.Even the all you can eat BBQ for their Bands,Brew and BBQ festival which last year was absolutely mobbed only had a couple dozen people eating at a time.I know the weather had a lot to do with how dead the park was but supposedly there were PETA protesters outside the park which I don't think had much impact on people visiting the park that day,but you never know.

Anybody who works with dangerous animals has to know something like this can happen at anytime. She loved her job and loved working with the whales and had to know the risks, what happened is a rare occurrence that can happen in this field, didn't a tiger kill a trainer at Busch Gardens a few years ago, these things happen every now and then. These animals don't have a grudge or intent to kill anyone,I view these incidents as accidents, you have to be careful anytime you're around them and even if you are you know something like this can still happen at any time even if you're being careful. This whale pulled her underwater and it could've been an instinct or to play and they for sure don't understand you can't hold your breath for a long time.I knew an elephant trainer who got fired because another trainer didn't have confidence in her when they were around the elephants,so as you can see safety is a huge concern when dealing with animals.

Legoland Florida Discussion Thread

I agree about the seniors, look at Busch Gardens just down the road, they usually get a decent amount of seniors always visit that park, and if you go on a day when they have those big bands or those groups from the 60's like Herman's Hermits playing at the Stanleyville theater it seems like there are more seniors than young people.I remember one day at the park that honestly it was so noticeable it must have been like 70% of the people at the parks were over 65,that was a good riding day!! -

Will this Pizza restaurant be table service, counter service or a combination of both.Whatever they do put in it better be good pizza as I can't recall ever eating pizza at Disney, especially after seeing on one of those Food Network Disney shows showing the automated assembly line machine that make those Toy Story Pizza Planet pizzas.
