  1. Swung by KK on my way home from Kings Island on Sunday. Not many people there as expected. Rain shut down most rides for about 30 minutes at one point while we were there. They did keep Thunder Run going in the rain. The workers were nice. Didn't have to walk around after rides. Could hop to different seats between rides. Rode the Flyer a few times in the back without getting up. Same for Storm Chaser and Thunder Run. Spent about 3 hours there and got in a dozen rides, I think. I had read their drop tower was actually pretty good. Ended my visit there and I agree. It's a good one. I liked the fairly instant drop once you hit the top.
  2. At one point Saturday they had 4 or 5 workers and security standing in front of Banshee. It was kind of nuts. Everyone just left stuff at the gate. Might be the norm.
  3. prozach626 - Me and some friends going up that same time (Sat afternoon - Wed noon ish). Weather will be great. Think positive. Buddy's son is graduating HS and he's always wanted to visit CP. I watched a couple blogs from the same weekend last year. Seemed like it was fairly dead the 3 days he was there. I have a feeling Sat and Sunday might be a bit busy (race, CoastStock, BBQ fest starting) but the weekdays should be light. I'd say a FL would probably make most things walkons from what I gather. I've been to 3 CF parks this year and had FL each time. Going to be painful waiting on rides while I'm up there. Trying to decide if Sunday or Monday might be better. I'll get it one day while I'm there because I do like to ride a lot sometimes. Probably decide while we're up there. Weather, etc. Going to be fun. Decades since I've been there. Let's catch together a ride in a few weeks.
  4. Fairly busy at the park today. Missed a Mystic Timbers lift hill evac by a couple minutes. Dang it. Otherwise, good time today. Also, rode Woodstock. They stopped us at the top of the lift hill. Employees walks up the hill and gets a cell phone from guy in the front row. Security was waiting at the exit when we returned. Think they just scolded him a bit. They should have booted him. Ride OP even told him to put it away right before we left the station. Multiple kids crying as we sat on top of the hill waiting.
  5. Prob not bad on Wed. Schools are still in for most around here.
  6. I like riding the drop tower just so I can get an overhead view of Thunderhead. Beautiful coaster.
  7. Whistle Punk Express. Wasn't sure I'd fit. No one at the park so I gave it a try finally. No problems.
  8. Don't jinx it! They appeared to be flying through construction a month or so ago. Surely it'll be ready. I hope.
  9. I ran across a coaster event on June 22 this year. I posted a link and it was blocked. Thought it might not be allowed. I think it's my post count. It includes breakfast, lunch buffet, and evening ERT (on LR assuming it's running). One day event.
  10. Didn't mean to ruffle feathers. The coaster is fine. I was just being selfish. Not my favorite and I've always found them a bit goofy. The actual ride is fairly smooth and serves its purpose.
  11. Cool app. Can't wait to see results from users being posted here.
  12. You can buy online or at the park. You can also monitor to see how many are left on the same page where you purchase them online. Risk bad weather buying them too far in advance. Also, those Time Savers also get you reserved seating at the shows if those interest you. Saves you from having to stand in line for those.
  13. Driving back from KI I decided to hit up Kentucky Kingdom. Never been before. Had a great time. I can't wait to return later and see the whole park going. Not many people there today. Everything was a walk on which was nice. 2 trains going on Flyer so it was pretty much walk up the stairs and sit down. Fun little ride. Rode it a few times and enjoy it. Like everyone else has said, little more airtime than I really thought it would have. I enjoyed Lightning Run and it is super smooth. Storm Chaser was really nice. I have been riding Lightning Rod a bunch lately and Storm Chaser holds it's own. I was grinning the whole time. Rode it a bunch today. The first drop/roll and hill are top notch. T3 is ok; just a little rough here and there. Thunder Run was decent enough. Seemed to have a ton of new track towards the end. Everyone was nice. Couldn't ask for more. I'll be back soon. Also met Daniel from Midway Mayhem and some OVC guys and chatted with them. Nice folks. Nice running into some youtube'ers that I've watched for awhile. Good times today.
  14. Seems a bit odd the ride would be hidden behind that building. I would think you'd want people to see the ride even when loading/unloading.
  15. First time at KI in over 20 years yesterday. Had a blast. Old roommate joined me along with his family for a few hours. Great seeing them. Fast Lane makes everything super easy here like everyone says. Great buy during the Prez day sale. Started raining for a few hours around 5. Diamondback in the rain was a fun time. Banshee was excellent. Throw Stunt Coaster in the garbage. Ended up with 30 coaster rides. Loved seeing the park and I-street. Beast at night was great and brought back some memories. Everyone working was great. My only complaint is they need about 5 more Chik Fil A stands.
  16. Here's 2 pics I took this afternoon. Spent a couple hours there doing all the coasters a few times and getting my steps in for the day. Place was empty and everything was a walk on. Nice couple hours before heading home. There were a few cranes working on the tree today. Still saw branches laying out back in the gravel lot behind it. They are going to be working their butts off to finish.
  17. Normal one is a lanyard with 10 hole punches (2 of which are orange and can be used for LR or Drop Line). The Unlimited is a lanyard with a date written on it. No punch holes. Unlimited. Been plenty of times this year and seen them in action.
  18. I'm doing KI on Saturday and KK on Sunday this weekend. Last visit to KI was 1993. Never been to KK. Looking forward to it. 4.5 hours to KI from here.
  19. Superman - Ultimate Flight at SFOG on 4/22. Love the pretzel loop.
  20. This morning they roped off the section just past Scorcher. So they had Twisted Cyclone and Scorcher going before official opening. We walked on all coasters and then headed out. Great way to spend the morning.
  21. Scorcher back up and running today. My first time on it. Smooth ride as advertised. Good stuff. Knocked out most of the coasters before heading down to 420Fest for music this afternoon. Great day to visit for a couple hours. 40-50 degrees, threat of rain made it empty. When we left at 12:40 this still hadn't opened the main parking lot. Even more amazing...2 trains running on Superman.
