  1. I visit SFoG often. Second closest park to me. I would rank it my least favorite SF park. I think they have one of the worst presidents in the chain. They don't try at all to do anything special. No power hours. No enthusiast events for years. The seem to be low in the pecking order for new start attractions now days. Good rides. Enjoy those when I go. Employees are usually fairly awful. Half or more of the food places are typically closed. Most aren't on Mobile food ordering half the time. Loved visiting a couple years ago on a 100 degree summer afternoon. They were posting on twitter and facebook a series of 'Stay Hydrated' posts. Problem is, none of the food places opened for at least the first 2 hours. Perhaps you could have hit the coke stand near the mine train, but nothing else. And it was brutally hot. Par for the course here. Now, I do realize one off and visits every now and again can give completely different views of this park. I'm glad many people enjoy it. But it could so much better with someone even remotely interested interested in running a good park like Jeffrey and Ron down in Texas. I still go. I'm fairly easy going and take things in stride. Fights can really be a problem here sometimes. 3/4 of the time I'm leaving there are at least 20 cop cars outside handling some mess. Last time I was there (couple months ago), I witnessed 2 different large 10+ people groups start brawling and going to town on each other inside the park. Great sight for the kids! Best thing about this park is the Bad Bob show, Monster Mansion, and the rides. The rest is fairly awful.
  2. You could put a couple hours into the MyVegas game and ride for free. Great views on this thing at night.
  3. Short article on the release you must sign and how it may protect the park and leave the family with no recourse. https://kdvr.com/news/local/glenwood-caverns-has-been-sued-before-heres-what-their-liability-waiver-meant-for-the-case/
  4. They had over a year to fix the coaster. Now another 8 months? Maybe S&S will build Vortex as an apology.
  5. GG won the innovation golden ticket this year for the new pre fab wood track they used on Racer. Hope we see this more places
  6. I've used cheap cars off Turo in LA before. No problems. Could be cheaper.
  7. FL is not open during early entry
  8. Fatality last night on haunted mine drop.
  9. Might be all the metal that is exposed. Don't want kids burning themselves? That's my guess.
  10. Dang. I was hoping it would all work out and you'd get a ride or two.
  11. Presumably waiting on a part. It's been down awhile.
  12. It's on a big sign inside the park. Get there early and let us know how it is.
  13. It is open for 2 hrs today and tomorrow for members and guests. Members 10-12, passholders 11-12. Suspect they will do the same next weekend, too.
  14. People seem to think they may go on sale again next week. Not sure if they are limiting capacity more, or if sales are just out of control. The event is sold out tonight and I've hear Express is sold out for tonight and tomorrow already. I'm also heard folks have been able to purchase multi-tickets by phone and the desks in the hotels on property today.
  15. Sometimes we have 60-70 degrees for Xmas, other years there a dusting of snow and it's freezing. Hard to tell. For the most part winters are mild here until January. Even then it's generally not bad. ACE event in Dec a couple years ago. Beginning of ERT they said, "Hurry because we have to shut down LR if it drops another degree." Luckily it stayed 36 and we got the whole hour of rides.
  16. I think it's more a sign of how bad people are at cancelling recurring payments. This is why every company in the world wants you on a monthly payment and buying gift cards now days.
  17. Just to follow up here. Appears one park is now offering the lump sum option. Ex here is gold pluss for ~$84 via monthly or $230 in one payment.
  18. Pantheon is officially March 2022. They also have a link up to register for exclusive ride times if you bought your pass since 7/30/19 (must reg by 10/17).
  19. I bet they are still trying to determine how 'year round' the park will be and exactly when to open it. Probably not til daily ops?
  20. Agreed. The new trains on MB make me sad. Love the og Schwarzkopf trains and sliding over to squash my companion. Please don't do Shockwave next.
  21. FYI: Fun Spot has done $76 season passes (maybe cheaper for renewals) at Thanksgiving the last couple of years. As of last year it works at all 3.
  22. A certain percentage do not cancel at 12 months. If you prepay a year, you cannot forget to cancel and they lose money. Thus, they charge more if you prepay for the year.
  23. I'm skipping passes and memberships for now. I don't have a home park really, so I'll use my current pass til it ends. Then when I visit another SF park at some point in time, I'll probably get whatever the cheapest membership is at that point. Cancel at 12 months, take the free months or discounted rate offer, then repeat again.
