  1. It's still the same. Just pizza and beer. Sorry about that. Still has a coming soon on the restaurant.
  2. Giraffe bar is now open. Everything else was running last weekend outside of Falcons. Pres said Falcon started having problems after some storms about a week ago. Been trying to get it back up quickly but I guess they need another week or so. Park is still not running 100% with several food stalls still closed. Pretzel place next to Falcon was open and smelled great.
  3. Coasters only? Most likely plenty of time with 3.5 hrs and you can probably sit on them for a couple laps. Middle of the park is a sizable water park but I've never done it, so can't comment on that. $5 bucks would pretty much guarantee you can wrap up things in the mornings if needed before going to HW. You pick up an hour between parks. Doubtful you'd need it, but for $5 it's not a bad move, right?
  4. Beware...No diet Dr. Pepper right now in the park. If the park is open after dark I can't recommend it enough. Voyage at night puts everything else to shame. Everything else above is solid advice as well. Enjoy your visit to this wonderful park.
  5. Ride Engineers Switzerland are the same folks that built the incredibly reliable and smooth running Mystic River Falls at Silver Dollar City. They make some masterpieces.
  6. Join a Carowinds Facebook group or two and see how the next couple Sundays go. Personally, I'd show up before the park opens, start riding and then decide while at the park.
  7. Lots of that for sure but there is some good info around here now and again
  8. Keep checking for passholder rates. They can come and go all the time. Hotels reservations can be cancelled up to a day or two before the trip.
  9. Park fairly dead today. Got my first rides on IG. Tons of fun. Got a dozen or so rides today, mostly at night.
  10. All prices below include taxes. Cabana Bay June 16 - 19 (passholder rate): $748.13 Portofino Bay June 17: $603.44 1 Seasonal Annual Pass: $425.99 1 Kids 3 park-to-park ticket 3 days + 2: $343.31 (Orlando Informer) 1 Adult Volcano Bay ticket for the weekend: $90.53 Total $2247.40 and you have Express Unlimited on June 17 and Jun 18.
  11. Buy one. The $80 difference over your 5 day ticket will be covered by your ~ $600 savings on express passes. Trying to help you save some money. Also, Endless Summer hotels are good and I'd imagine are good for kids, too. Cafeteria with pick up and go and seating in the lobby. Easy to get something early or late after the park. Busses take 5-10 minutes. Passholder rate might save you money there, too. Or any of their other resorts. Check passholder rates here: https://reservations.universalorlando.com/ibe/default.aspx?hgID=641&nights=1&adults=2&promo=APH Also, pass is not needed to book these. They may ask to see it at the hotel.
  12. Passholder rate for Royal Pacific on June 17 is $547.96. Universal Express for June 17 and 18 for 2 people would be ($269.99 * 2) + ($299.99 * 2) for ~ $1140. If express interests you, might want to double these prices. Also saves you money if wanting express and don't even stay in the room.
  13. The area around Kumba and the log flume to Flacons Fury annoyed me for awhile. The area around Sheikra threw me off, too. But also, Falcons Fury seems like the centerish of the park but there is really no direct path. Just seemed to take me longer to familiarize myself here than most parks. Maybe it's partly the size. All good after a couple visits.
  14. I've now been a few times over the last couple years. Park layout is bad, and especially bad for non-regulars. I can agree with much of the recent comments. BGT always seemed like a top tier park to me, but my visits have ranged from not so great up to decent. IG helps the park for sure. Still love riding the train through the Serengeti and seeing the animals.
  15. Avett Brothers, 3 Doors Down, and others announced for Kings Island concert series in the Timberwolf theater. Nice to see a park firing their theater back up.
  16. They were running a single train Sunday afternoon. So at least it was running.
  17. It's down. I heard they were telling people it wouldn't open today.
  18. I've seen this as well. Also seeing reports of folks stabbed at the new campground. Active night in Mason.
  19. I think it's safe to assume the plan is to have it open before CS. Hopefully it works out for folks. Can't wait to ride it myself.
  20. Sad to see. I rode that at the World's Fair.
  21. Discovery Kingdom members have started receiving notices of membership price increase of $1+ depending on level in May. Word is these will continue to increase as time goes by. I think most thought they'd get another year before they started this process.
  22. That's a good question for sure. Was it normal training and policy to put larger guests in those seats? Ops probably never questioned why, etc.
  23. Not looking good for the Slingshot Group. https://www.clickorlando.com/news/local/2022/04/18/watch-live-at-130-pm-florida-officials-provide-update-on-orlando-drop-tower-death-investigation/ "Orlando drop tower operator adjusted sensors in seat teen fell from, making ride unsafe, report shows."
  24. I think the core problem with RMCs is the train. They are the worst along with the comfort collars. The final run on SV is ruined because of the restraints and train. I still enjoy the heck out of them.
  25. It does seem a bit odd they are 2 months out and don't think they can get it done with a B&M. But that news can't help with new ticket sales. I hope they get it open it for you guys.
