They were running a single train Sunday afternoon. So at least it was running.

It's down. I heard they were telling people it wouldn't open today.

I've seen this as well. Also seeing reports of folks stabbed at the new campground. Active night in Mason.

I think it's safe to assume the plan is to have it open before CS. Hopefully it works out for folks. Can't wait to ride it myself.

Discovery Kingdom members have started receiving notices of membership price increase of $1+ depending on level in May. Word is these will continue to increase as time goes by. I think most thought they'd get another year before they started this process.

That's a good question for sure. Was it normal training and policy to put larger guests in those seats? Ops probably never questioned why, etc.

I think the core problem with RMCs is the train. They are the worst along with the comfort collars. The final run on SV is ruined because of the restraints and train. I still enjoy the heck out of them.

It does seem a bit odd they are 2 months out and don't think they can get it done with a B&M. But that news can't help with new ticket sales. I hope they get it open it for you guys.

Just a heads up: Looks like the new coaster wont be ready for Coaster Rodeo. That's unfortunate but what can you do? Park has started alerting folks and schedule online has been updated. Does look like the lift hill tour will still happen.

Springhill is closest and the official hotel. Comfort Inn at the park is also an easy walk. All others are across a fairly busy 5+ lane road. Springhill is newer and nicer, but the Comfort Inn has always been fine for us. Comfort Inn is directly next to a gas station and Wendys that can be helpful at night after the park closes, too.

Why allow the machine to operate with the restraint that far up? You have to be exceeding the limit in that case. If the ops "got a green light" I just don't see it being their fault. Still seems like this is a poorly engineered variation of their standard model and that is what caused him to slip out.

If it opens again, it's been given state approval and considered safe.

Not sure if any are doing it this year, but SFoG was switching to chipped cups end of last season for refills. The 15 minute cooldown is probably in effect on those machines.

El Toro has now passed state certification. Looking good for this one.

Horrible accident. Seems much of the blame is on the ride manufacturing and engineering. The excellent drawing above make sense and could explain things. I noticed Drop Line at Dollywood was closed today. Wonder if all their towers are shut down for now?

No more GASM jokes. That guy has a bunch of new wood this year. Hurler isn't that rough. Not that bad of a coaster. However, the RMC conversion of Huler is much better and would be cool to have one or a similar refurb at Carowinds.

Unfortunately, the Sunsphere is no longer free. They added some displays and now charge $5. Just an FYI.

Parking is still not completely finished and seems to be a headache. If you arrive early, probably nothing to worry about. Food has been a disaster over there for the last 2 years. Fridays and Saturdays seem worse than others. Saw reports from today with some short food lines. If you can pack lunches in the car or snacks for the day, might save yourself some frustration.
