Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

So far it seems like Titan track is being to used repair and restore existing coasters, not convert them to a different layout, etc like RMC. If this is the main use, I'm cool with that. Not everything needs to be converted. I agree with the above. RMC wouldn't touch that tweet if they weren't involve IMO. -

Plenty of things that aren't necessarily the best of the best become cult favorites. A lot of the love is probably due to longevity and the atmosphere of being in the park, memories of days gone by, etc. More than just taste. -

I've been told I was crazy for recommending row 17 here before. Locals know. More should know and try it. Front row or 17 is the way to go. Still haven't been able to get up there this year to try the Beast or Racer yet. -

Flying Turns opened today. -
During the ACE event in Florida earlier this year a tech on Cheetah Hunt was quick to name Intamin as the worst company for parts right now. He said they are running at about 22 months for most things. Didn't seem to be exaggerating or making it up. They try and keep everything they need on hand but sometimes sht happens.

New entrance? Trams are a bit further away and people complain about the parking everyday. And they continue to remove history and cut down trees on their way to building a much, much bigger park. -
Silver Dollar City (SDC) Discussion Thread

I finally got to SDC last week. I've wanted to ride Fire In Hole for 35+ years. Had to do it before they rebuilt it. Also wanted to do Flooded Mine since it had been 20+ years since I rode it at Dollywood. SDC is incredible. Top tier park. Time Traveler is crazy but the back car is nuts out of the station. Can't wait to go back. Did the regular and latern cave tours a couple hours apart. Both guides were so good. -

Time Traveler, back row. The drop out the station is amazing. -

That would be true for any coaster, yet this is the only one I've seen run an empty train with bags for hours (and presumably the entire operating day). I did leave an hour or two before closing. -

Why do they run an empty Boss train with bags instead of storage it somewhere? Honest question. I realize it can valley easily and they don't want to keep removing and loading the bags, but why run the train for hours this way instead of storing it in the shed?
