Busch Gardens Name Changes
gunslinger replied to stew560's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't know about everyone else, but when I read "The Dark Country", I laughed so hard I almost gave myself the trots. It's beautifully inappropriate. As for changing it to Africa.. That's.. Well that's just really lame. -
Best B&M Standup
gunslinger replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Riddler. Standup coasters suck, but as far as they go, RR has the best forces, and good pacing. And like arrowfanman said, it is aesthetically pleasing. The queue is the worst thing to happen to theme parks since someone came up with the idea of cloning lame shuttle loops and boomerangs, but the ride is still exhilerating. -
You're just TOO BIG to ride!!!
gunslinger replied to SlimCoasterRider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Frankly, no. A manufacturer should not have to compensate for a problem which, in most cases, is completely avoidable. I like that some rides have special seating for larger guests, it makes sense and clearly shows that those guests are being considered, but having all trains modified is just unnecessary. If one can't ride a ride, they should consider losing the weight necessary to allow them to board. I know some people have certain disorders that prevent them from having a slimmer body shape, but health-wise, should they really be riding coasters? It's a tough issue. -

Reggie And The Full Effect - Apocalypse Wow! -
I attended a screening of The Hills Have Eyes, recently, and whoa. It's freakin' incredible. Compared to all of the horror films of the past couple of years, which have been nothing but un-original, predictable garbage, it was a huge surprise. The last time a movie came even close to scaring me, not just making me jump, or cringe at the ridiculous amount of gore, but actually unsettling me and making me want to leave the theatre to buy some popcorn, was Jeepers Creepers, well, only the first 30 minutes of it. Where everything's still kind of a mystery. THHE was gory, but not excessively so, and the real horror came from the humanity of the bad guys, the feeling that people like that really exist. [Well, maybe not nuclear desert monsters, but, ya know. Crazies.] Yes. Go see it, when it's released. DON'T, under ANY circumstances, go see NightWatch. It's a terribly made film. It's in the vein of Underworld and the Blade movies, which, in my opinion, were pretty bad too, but at least they followed a coherent plot. NightWatch is like having a nightmare induced by eating too many cheese sandwiches and slices of pie. It's painfully disjointed and the editing is comparable to putting trim-brakes on the track every six feet on Millennium Force. 45 seconds in, you're going to want to get the eff off. Oh, and buy Rent!

Home made steel coaster

lmfao. Damn. That loop looks more intense than anything I could ever build on RCT2. -
Hah. Couldn't resist.

Haha, it wasn't any more of a decision than the whole "I don't much enjoy boobs, so I'm going to be gay", thing. I'm not a sexual person, and my brain doesn't base my level of attraction on anatomy. Which is weird when people tell me my boyfriends are hideous. Oh well. Aaaand, I'm probably over-generalizing, but due to my experience, that's the way I see things. The males I've known have been easy to get along with, shared similar interests with me, and generally been more compatible with my personality. Most of the girls I know have been insecure, over-emotional, and don't really like to talk about video games, debate theory, Star Wars, and collecting action figures. Not that they don't exist, I just haven't met many. And I guess I do prefer straight men because they're emotionally armored. I prefer them because [And once again, just in my experience,] they don't sweat the small things. They don't lose their heads if they get a run in their socks or someone didn't call them back. For the most part, they're more relaxed and laid back then women, and thus, assosciating with them is more conducive to me having a fun time when I'm around them. You see. And no, I don't think Albert Einstein was simpler than Jessica Simpson. I wasn't over-generalizing thaaat much!

Hey thanks! It's a freakin' great experience. I'm starting to save up now so I can go again as many times as possible when it gets back here in the fall. Heh.

Re-riding a Coaster
gunslinger replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
At SFMM the staff doesn't care. It's just another harness/lapbar check for them. As long as the line for your car is empty. At Knotts, they wouldn't let us re-ride anything. It was lame. -
Oh man. I was there a while ago, for the first time since Silver Bullet had been built, and I was so intensely confused by that, that I had to sit down. it made my head hurt. My brain saw it and said "Zero-G-Roll." but my eyes said "Hey wait. It....No. Haha. Don't be silly." So I looked away. But my brain said "No wait, look back." to which my eyes replied "WHAT IN GODS NAME IS THAT?!" And then I plopped down in the middle of the walkway and stared, tilting my head at every angle trying to figure out why it was.. the way it was. Then I ate funnel cake. I didn't bother riding it. To experience that drug-induced I-Swear-I'm-An-Inversion would probably give me a stroke. BTW, awesome photos. I didn't know you weren't supposed to walk up MM parkway.. I do it all the time.

That was the niftiest thing I've seen since I woke up. I'm pleased as punch. For my birthday, this year, my family pitched in and bought me the new S&W 500 Revolver. I'm not entirely sure why, I'm a collector of antique revolvers, most of which don't fire anymore, but I'm not going to question it too much. It's the most arousing thing since genitalia. Truely a work of art. I won't take it out of the box because I'm scared of it. If any gun could become sentient and blow my leg off all on its own, I'm sure it would be this one. Although, for $1,200, I would've been perfectly happy with a new iBook and maybe a shirt. At least now, if I don't get a shirt next year, I can shoot someone.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
gunslinger replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
X. And the wait was like, an hour and a half! I've never waited that long. I was apalled and irate. And then I realized it was X and I should be grateful. It was the horrible noise pumping through the speakers that was enraging me. ○Deej○ -
I'm a homo, and I don't much enjoy the company of females. I mean, I can tolerate and get along with them, and they seem to just ADORE me; but I don't surround myself with them. I'm a homosexual not because I like the men-italia, but because I prefer the way the males mind works. Females operate on an entirely different mental level, and it confounds me. They're not simple creatures like men. I don't understand them at all. I'll go shopping with them, but once these whole "emotion" things get brought up, I'm going home to play some video games. This might also be why I don't get along with my gay-kin-folk, either.

Hi. I'm Deej. I'm in California and frequent SFMM and Knotts. I took a road trip to Cedar Point a while ago, and wasn't really impressed, so I've been sticking with California. I was at MM last Saturday and my boyfriend absently said "....That guy has a donkey on his shirt..." while we were waiting in line for X.. And I was compelled to look, of course. I noted the URL on his shirt and decided to join up. So here I am. Cheers! ○Deej○

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. If you stop and think about it, the park REALLY lacks non-coaster rides. I mean, we all love them, of course, but you need some change in there. Upcharge attractions are cool, but other parks are still pulling in big crowds with permanent flat rides. I'm sure one reason is space - they don't have a lot of flat land to ad stuff like that, but there's plenty of stuff that I think could be removed or modified to add some different flats in there. Cheers to that. I'm at the park pretty much every weekend, and recently I've just been left walking around the park, hanging out for hours in the smoking areas, and riding Granny Grand Prix. I love the coasters, but when the lines are at most 15 minutes, and I've ridden all of the coasters at least twice each, I just kind of want a more simple, relaxing ride. MM needs a dark ride, badly. Maybe not a lame one, for children, a la DLand, but one that combines thrills and action without resorting to speed and g-forces. I don't know. Call me crazy.

Harumph. I loved Flashback. It was my default go-to ride before Scream was erected. There was never a wait. And it was a unique experience. I'm not sure I understand all the animosity towards it. No one has to go on it, and it's way off to the side of the park, so it's not obstructing any kind of foot traffic.. I just don't get it. It's fun, some people, [Okay, like, 3 people] actually enjoy it... I would like to see it re-opened, but realistically, I see it being dismantled and replaced with some lame new-fangled launch ride, or maybe a few more purveyors of disgusting and overpriced food-stuffs. [/sigh...]
