  1. Hm. That's a good point. I suppose if there's money to be made. Cheers to them. And here's hoping they don't completely eff it up.
  2. Blech. It looks like fun, but the whole willy-nilly jumble and the basic design is aesthetically displeasing.
  3. I don't understand the point of giving a game you've never played such a harsh bashing. That's like saying you thought a book sucks that you've never read. I don't get it. How can you know so much about something you have no experience with? --Robb Frankly, PC is a great medium for the genre. If it ain't broke, don't try to make the move to console with a formula that ended up being terrible for it's predecessors. If the past is any indication of future Theme Park console games, this one will fail just as hard. If the game turns out to be completely awesome and revolutionizes the Theme Park construction gaming experience, I'll gladly put on my lobster bib and eat my words. I just don't expect that to be the case. I do expect amazing graphics, though. [/shrug]
  4. What? I really think RCT1/2 were as easy as you could get. And then Frontier decided to try to dumb the process down even more, and, IMHO, ruined the game entirely. I give this idea a big preemptive "LAAAAME." "I wish I had more hands... So I could give noun four thumbs down!"
  5. Dammit! Flashback is a uniquely awesome ride! If you can't take it, proudly slap this on your brand new magenta-and-turquoise blouse, and stop complaining! Christ!
  6. Yes. It sucks and isn't worth going to during July-December. You will spend all day in lines for slightly-better-than-mediocre rides. If you absolutely must be at the park at that time, do yourself a favor and shell out the cash for the FastLane.
  7. Okay, someone. PLEASE explain to me what it is about dive-machines? Seriously, I've never had a LESS exciting roller coaster experience than Oblivion and Sheikra. After both, I felt extremely dissapointed, more so than the inital dissapointment I felt after riding X. I really cannot seem to grasp how the whole "vertical drop" thing can possibly make up for an otherwise sub-par riding experience. Unless BGW makes a dive machine that will put an ice cream cone in my hand and shiny new shoes on my feet, I'm afraid I just can't get too excited about it.
  8. i feel like sutch an outcast because i love psyclone, flashback, and viper. Cheers. I think they're all good, solid rides. But to be perfectly frank, I've kind of noticed that the majority of the people who seem to hate those rides are part of the, ahem, older crowd.[My grandmother totally ruined our last trip, whining all day about her busted colostomy bag after we rode Psyclone. Gosh, Grandma, give it a rest. We heard you the first time.] I don't blame them, of course. When I have an aching back and other "older people" problems, I doubt very much that I'm going to enjoy the rides that give me headaches and practically break my hips. I don't much understand the somewhat childish stance most of them have to take on those rides; leave the rough-coaster-riding to the "saucy youngsters" like myself, and appreciate what the rides do for the park, like, uhm.... Lowering the wait times for the more popular newfangled smooth coasters? [/shrug] Now I feel like eating Werthers Originals, watching CBS, and writing angry letters to City Hall about the poor state of the flag flying outside of my local Sav-On. <--This is my "Please don't pelt me with bottles of Centrum Silver, I'm only being facetious!" face.
  9. I've NEVER seen it happen before, but then again, I've never seen the park that deserted. In the morning it was extremely rainy, so when I went to the park I completely expected it to be closed. I don't think it's a very common thing, it was just circumstantial. You should pray that the weather's on your side when you go, though, just in case. Heh. If they close the park early, they pass out complimentary passes as you exit.
  10. 1]. Athiest Encounter - niiicolaaah 2]. Purgatory Tours - Randomtask 3]. FreeFalwell - Wes41190 Funny [Oops! My mistake! ] Stuff.
  11. on Goliath at SFMM. There was a light drizzle all morning, but as soon as the train left the station, it started raining, like, hardcore. Then as soon as we hit the lift hill, my friend a couple cars ahead of me screamed "DJ?! DO RAINDROPS HURT WHEN THEY HIT YOU IN THE FACE AT 80 MILES PER HOUR!?" I screamed that I was pretty sure they might, and then the whole train started screaming in what I could tell was real terror. haha. As we crested the hill, the little boy in front of us mumbled "Oh sweet jesus," and then the pain started. After the worst ride of my life, as we turned into the brake run, my friend looked at me and said "Now I know how Dick Cheneys hunting buddies feel." It was funny, but the funniest part was the yellow flecks of paint all over his face that had literally been chipped from the car and blown all over everyone in the train. When we got into the station the line was gone and the operators told us the ride was closed. A gentleman up front got out and damn near squealed "WELL ITS A BIT TOO LATE FOR THAT DONTCHA THINK!!?" -Cheers.
  12. It will probably be possible to ride every operating ride in the park, as long as you get in line for X early, assuming it's open. Usually on weekdays I ride everything open at least twice, and still leave the park before 4. The variable is the huge amount of people invited to Media Day, so as long as you start riding everything else as soon as your Tatsu ride is over, I think you'll be fine in getting all the rest of the [operating] credits before 6.
  13. uuhm. I used to frequent ACN, and then realized everyone [EVERYONE] there were, without fail, a bunch of C U Next Tuesdays. So I kind of gave up. Then, one day at SFMM, while waiting in line for X, I noticed a guy in front of me wearing a TPR hoodie. And it had a donkey on it, and anything combining beasts of burden with roller coasters has to be A OK. So I came home and signed up.The captions on the reviews were hilarious, and the fact that SOMEONE had a sense of humor about Coaster Enthusiasm was truly refreshing. The end!
  14. MM in the winter is the only way to go. Not a hint of the GP, no lines, and re-rides galore! Although, my boyfriend and I were at the park yesterday, and around 1 PM, the PA system came on, "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Due to circumstances beyond our control, Six Flags Magic Mountain has ended its operating day. We apologize.. blah blah". The weather wasn't that bad at all, so I guess they close the park if they don't make a quota or a certain number of paying guests...? There couldn't have been more than 50-60 guests in the park, we only ever saw the same five or six groups of people. I don't know.
  15. Wow. There's only one word that comes to mind. Overkill. Or is that two words. I don't care. It's overkill no matter how you spin it. -De"proud homo, but not that proud"ejay.
  16. AWESOME! I'M SO THERE! Heh. Now I get to meet some TPR members. AWESOME!
  17. No. To be perfectly frank, it has a much worse reputation than it deserves. I'm surprised that coaster enthusiasts can actually not like this ride. The hairpin turns are completely unique, and a totally different experience from any other coasters. I can understand the GP not enjoying the ride, they don't ride them as a hobby and therefore probably don't know how to practice Defensive Riding, to compensate for the flaws in the ride [The OTSRS and the fact that they feel like they're made of concrete.] If you can deal with Vekoma OTSRs, you can handle Flashback. I just don't get the lack of appreciation for what was a very intense, unique, and thrilling ride [With a kick-ass helix.] Of course, the Hurricane Harbor excuse is completely valid, but seeing as I find Hurricane Harbor to be a useless waste of space, my opinion is "Eff that, open Flashback." Of course I know it'll never happen. [/sigh] I've been holding that in for a long time. Hah.
  18. at SFMM a few days ago.
  19. Tooootally. Mmmmm. Prince Eric and Aladdin. [/slobbers]
  20. I think Riddlers Revenge gets more intense after the mcbr. The forces feel much stronger. The first couple of inversions are just too big to provide the force of the smaller corkscrews. Anyway. Riddlers is the best.
  21. ^^ AHAHHAHAHAHA. SHEER BRILLIANCE!!
  22. I had nothing else to do today. Clearly. I figured this park needed a Thrill Shot, which also had an important function. Ridding the world of heathens. God bless Wally George! I realize people who don't know who Wally George is won't get this. But To those people.. FIND JESUS, SINNERS!!
  23. HAH! I love this! I've never ridden a proper terrain-woody, but I've always been fascinated by them. You're so lucky to have this kind of open space to be able to do something like this. It seriously looks like it could be awesome. Now finish it and let me ride it!
  24. Where did you read "The Dark Country"? it was the Dark Continent...you have to wonder what their reasons in naming the park that in the first place was...is it in reference to Africans? JEFF Oh! I read Old Country and Dark Continent and.. You know. Hah. Shut up. My brain wanted to read "dark country" because it sounded funnier. ahaha . My bad. Perhaps it was referring to the "deep, dark, Africa" thing. Of course, I MUCH prefer to think it was in reference to the people who reside there, because, hell, that's hilarious. hahah dark country. It's still funny.
