  1. Hence why I was too chicken to go on it. The picture does not do it justice, it looked absolutely insane, the whole thing was flipping like it was out of control, and those cars ripped around it like... well, fast...
  2. yeah, I'm using a rather crappy camera at the moment, but I've just ordered a new Canon A530, which should be really good. Tch, too bad it's so late in the season.
  3. Meh, IMO, no park is ever too big, but they can definately be too crowded. CP is great, I absolutely love it and I would go there all the time if I could, you just can't beat having 14 different rollercoasters to ride all in one park, not to mention everything else. But the crowds can be a problem. And conversly, small isn't bad either, the small park charm is great, the original rides and attractions and the great atmospheres that they have can mean more than getting 6 rides on TTD.
  4. more pics - And one last view of Zingo to finish up. Some more of the fair midway. There's the last fair credit, again I didn't think they'd let me on. ...Complete with crazy gremlins popping out of them. Gotta love these portable dark rides... I'm surprised anyone wasted money on this. Here's a look down the main artery of the fair. The Duct Tape contest... People will make an attraction out of anything. They had loads of crazy contests going on inside the Expo, like the sand art contest. I was tempted, but I didn't think they'd let me on.
  5. So I decided it was time to go vistit the Tulsa state fair again, as it has been several years since I've been, and I was reminded throughly why I haven't. It was expensive, crowded, messy, and I had a constant worry of pick-pockets, but I had fun. Yeah, Bell's was great, but nothing has been done yet on the new coaster. I have more pictures on my website - www.superstevessupersite.com On to the pics, I'll have the rest up later. Lots too see in the Expo building as well. I got some good sheep action as well. More cow, I mean bull, goodness. Wheeee, cows! I was too chicken for this one. Sigh, many of the rides were broken down today, like the disko. Yeah, they had some crazy stuff. CREDIT!!!!!!!! On to the fair... Bell's does happen to have a few rides. Nothin much to report here... Even the log flume is packed. Probably the only time Zingo has had a que all season. Ah, sweet Zingo... Yup, this is the place.
  6. tch, the only coaster I've been on that's bit the dust was The Run-away-ore carts at SDC. Sigh, that was one of my first credits... my second, I think.
  7. So I was driving by the park again today, and I saw what looked like some piles of wood stacked inside of Zingo, around the lift and first drop. Looked like there may have been some other stuff going on as well, there were people who looked like they were cutting down some trees and such. Only 1 week till the state fair....
  8. oooooo.... I'm sure I heard that the Zoo across the street was buying it, guess not. There's an ACE coaster classic there right? Maybe they'll be able to save that.
  9. So, I was in Tulsa the other day and of course, I had to stop by bell's to see the new ride and if they had started work on the coaster yet. The new kiddie ride looks spiffy, but no work has been started on the coaster yet. Yeah, I never actually went in the park, these pictures are from the outside, but look for a full photo TR later this month when the Tulsa state fair starts. More pictures of Bell's can be found at my site: http://www.superstevessupersite.com One last look, this shows pretty much the entire area they have to work with, so it should be a pretty tight design. Another look. Yeah, I was hoping to see some land clearing or something, but there wasn't any, I guess they'll wait till after the fair. Here's what I came for, not just a pavilion-filled field, but the site for the '08 coaster! Ah, Zingo. You can see how it looms over everything... Notice the blue & white topped ride, that was one of the other most damaged rides that was fixed up and is running nicely now. Here you can see the Bell's flag, which is on the tallest flag pole in the western U.S. Yup, so this is what they replaced the ferris wheel with.
  10. oh yeah, you can bet they are open for christmas, they have a HUGE chritmas festival, it's incredible. Yup, I've been at christmas every year since I was 3. Hmmm, I wonder how expensive staying at this new place will be; it might get pretty pricey staying at it and going to CC and SDC
  11. whooo, one more place to visit in branson. Just hope it doesnt cause competiton with SDC & CC.
  12. hmmm, it was this wensday that Will Koch was appearing on the show right? Cause I didn't see him. Although I did miss on segment before the final interview, but the final interviewee was a guy from Jeopordy, so was the part with Will in the bit before that?
  13. I found them listed here = http://www.answers.com/topic/silver-dollar-city scroll downt to the bottom of the page. Huh, that sounds totally wierd, but then again, it is SDC. Funny how Disney's Imagineer's didn't think it was possible...
  14. So I was surfing the internet on Silver Dollar City related stuff today, and I found this list of old, removed rides from Silver Dollar City on Answers.com - Rube Dugan's Diving Bell - An attraction that simulated a Jules Verne-style fantasy submarine ride, the first simulation ride of its kind. Disney World engineers told Silver Dollar City that it could not be done. It was removed in the late-1980s to make room for the Lost River of the Ozarks, a ride that could run more people per hour through. Slim Pickens was the voice of Rube Dugan. Noel Green was the only person to ever play Rube Dugan in the flesh during the 1999, and 2000 seasons. Jim Owens Float Trip - Outdoor boat ride around a man-made river with animatronics. Removed after the 1980 season and replaced by the American Plunge log flume. Does anyone have any information/pictures on these rides? They sound really interesting to me, I never knew Silver Dollar City ever had them. Heh, well, I had always noticed that old, log-flume looking canal over by Wildfire. I never knew what that was until now. edit - btw, I've heard tale of an internet brochure that says "New In 07 All New High Flying Fun Keep Checking silverdollarcity.com for details" Anyone seen this?
  15. yeah, chris sawyer designed that park after visiting Light water valley, I didn't notice either until after I had gone to the park myself as well.
  16. Wow, I've only ever been to one Six flags park, and with all these horror stories I'm scared to go to more. Wasn't Snyder supposed to change all this?
  17. wow, I went to that park 2-3 years ago back when I lived in Northern England, looks like it hasn't changed much. The ferris wheel wasn't there when I went though. Nice TR
  18. wow, that's the funniest looking screamin swing I've ever seen, looks cool though. That drop tower sounds/looks insane though, I dunno if I would ride it. Yeah, they do need to build a big new Powderkeg style ride to showcase, that particular ride has so much potential and should be so sellable nowadays when so many parks are buying lauched coasters.
  19. Wow, you can actually see the people lift up off the slide on that first hill, look like some great air-time.
  20. hmmm, " Cost per ride on the Alpine Coaster is $15" I know alot of parks you can get into for that price.
  21. meh, I think it'll be good, not what I was execting, but I'll still enjoy it. too bad it'll be another 2-3 years before I can go to CP
  22. are you sure? I thought that was one of the topics that was evened out when bell's re-applead to have the new coaster built... anyway I'm sure they'll get it if they havent already.
  23. That's exactly what I've been wondering for a long time now, kinda makes me mad at clemeton. I'm assuming it has something to do with maitenance and it costing to much or some such matter, but who knows. btw, nice report.
  24. Arg, I have wanted to go to DW for soooo long now... It seems the hershends put so much more into it then they ever have at SDC.
  25. YAY, I have waited SOOOOOOO long for them to do this. I live 45 mins away, and I go to the park 2-3 times a year, but after so many years of going back to the same rides, it was getting old. btw, apparently they just built a new roto-plane ride in place of the old ferris wheel - bonus!
