Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
coasterlover420 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I never really minded the headbanging over the crushed thighs. That was the worst. I eventually learned how to slouch exactly right so that I never got stapled and the restraints didn't kill my neck. And to be honest, I got more bruises on Storm Runner than I ever did on Maverick. I think that was just because I rode it 26 times in one day though... -

I was kind of under the impression that most twisty coasters hurt in their own way. To be honest, the only problem with Maverick is the restraint. There are ways of riding it to avoid being hurt, you just have to know how to do it. -
Places to Stay in Sandusky
coasterlover420 replied to itravel828's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I second that. I once ordered a Big Mac and there was a sticker inside it (like a paper sticker)... It got me my money back and a free milkshake though! If you're going for the whole "Cedar Point experience" and money is no object, the Breakers is a wonderful experience. It's close to absolutely everything and the rooms are well kept with great views of the coasters (depending on which room you get). If money is a little tight, Breakers Express is also a great pick. Early entry, free parking, walking distance to EOC, etc...all of the other motels are pretty much livable quality, although I wouldn't say they are nice. If you're thinking of staying off point, I'd suggest finding a place near the mall or Wal-Mart, simply because they are closer to everything in Sandusky (such as places to eat food that is cheaper than in the park). 500% Agreed. You can get more rides in before 10am than you can between the hours of 12 and 5. Especially on Raptor or MF. This depends on which rides the Point chooses to be open for early entry, of course. It changes year to year. -

Either way, the flier trains don't have seats mounted right next to the wheels. The car itself has obviously been stripped bare, but that is obviously not for any other B&M coaster design. It must be for the x-raptor. -
^Well, not because the game was too hard, but because I kept getting killed my people on my team (Halo on Live) Do you approve of the Bed Intruder song?
-
^Exactly. It's easier to just make 1 meter more of track than it is to toil over millimeters during manufacture. If you look at Goliath at SFMM there is a piece of track right before the brake run that's probably not any longer than a meter in length, and I kind of doubt it was designed that way. Although I doubt a coaster would have 1000 pieces of track spanning its length. Maybe more like 200 or 300.

^If I remember correctly, it wasn't just a few days. B&M has their issues too, it's just nobody really hypes them up. -
Interview with Walter Bolliger!

^They probably can't both go at once, I'm sure one of them has to stay with the company to make sure everything's going smoothly. -

This is my guess: They had a layover in Denver United: Flight 452 Denver-Dulles ...because the post was at 7 ET, so a 6:30 arrival seems most logical. The plane is United because the engines are painted blue and the C gates at Dulles are mostly United. They arrived at Gate C3, shown here: Compare to the picture from the gate. Even the engine color is similar. As for the flight out, the picture of the Singapore airlines, I am guessing, was taken at London Heathrow airport, which is the only airport in the direction they're traveling where the Singapore A380 flies, so I am assuming they are either going to London, or it will be another layover. United: Flight 924 left Dulles at 10:39. It is a Boeing 777, which has 3 seats near the windows. I am guessing the pictures were sent to ernierocker to post after they left.
