  1. Dr. Pepper is an independent brand, theoretically could be added if Six Flags wanted to but I'm sure they would rather only deal with a single company when it comes to an operation this large. It is distributed and bottled by themselves, Pepsi, and coke depending on the region.
  2. Hey, it was movie history! Who can forget the finale of Beverly Hills Cop 3?
  3. I think with Toy Story Mania down the street and more “iconic” rides of past and present within the park (people are obviously nostalgic about Bear-y tales & Kingdom of Dinosaurs plus Log Ride & Mine in the park), it didn’t really make an emotional connection with locals with the odd story. Even though it’s fun, kind of felt “been there, done that.” The lower capacity I think worked against it too—-don’t think many locals bothered with it again after riding it the first time since it was routinely one of the higher wait times in the park. I think Bear-y tales solves the emotional Connection aspect (parents will bring their kids back with excitement talking about the “cool” ride they saw as a kid). Hoping they’ll add some animatronics to give it more of a “wow” factor to differentiate from Toy Story Mania more too.
  4. I hope they add animatronics. Lower budget CGI isn’t really a tribute.
  5. Knott's Berry Farm has announced two new experience that will honor the park's 100-year anniversary. Knott's 100th Anniversary: A Knott's Family Reunion will be a special celebration with food, merchandise, entertainment and more inspired by the park's history. Knott's Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair is a new dark ride that will revisit the beloved characters of the former attraction in a new and interactive experience. https://www.knotts.com/play/events/100th-anniversary?utm_source=social-media&utm_medium=kbf-boost&utm_campaign=100th&utm_content=bear-y-tales-announce This is what was sent to passholders:
  6. Has daily train service started? When I went for USC vs. Syracuse, they ran busses and it was a sh*tshow.
  7. Anyone want to buy my oceanfront property in Arizona? LOL.
  8. Big Box stores and Cruise Ships are not Cedar Fair or Six Flags core business. Selling soda for as high a profit as possible is. Not far fetched to think he would use his connections at Pepsi to negotiate an even better deal than Coke offers as soon as he is able to.
  9. Wait, what's the story with this? I mean, generally only things get caught up in customs, when dealing with international freight, are things that are regulated like USDA and FDA items. Generally finished steel items have no issue being customs cleared. *IF* that was the case, it's worth noting anything can be held up, even more so now with all the tariff nonsense. Got to pay all the taxes/fees/tariffs before the item can be released. To me, it's impressive the place is even at the stage it is at now with all the litigation and financial trouble it has gone through.
  10. that building is LeFou's (quick serve and presumably home to LeFou's brew). Gaston's Tavern will a larger restaurant. The village shops will be across the street from the food service venues inside the new area. There will be 3 of them (Le Belle Librairie, Bonjour Gifts, and Little Town Traders).
  11. The cottage is the fastpass distribution.
  12. It’s six flags. The final product will be half assed in some ways. But definitely not rushed...
  13. I have no doubt the playing field and stands will ultimately be redeveloped into something else after the XFL folds and no one cares about minor league soccer, but an office building is the definition of a "redevelopment." A 15 year lease is gold if you're a landlord. Especially if you're a taxpayer in Arlington who has been royally screwed over and over by stadium subsides.
  14. Don't forget the 'VR Showdown in Ghost Town attraction closed recently. That would be extremely disappointing if the attraction is in that small space. I don't know how small that space is but isn't there a new product from Mack/Trio-Tech that's an interactive darkride/flat ride specifically for a smaller space? I feel like I saw an ad or post for that recently on some kind of industry social media page, no idea if that's what this is but it looked like a fun concept. It was put in a former lazer tag arena carved out from within their arcade on the boardwalk. Couldn't be more than 500sqft.

  16. The construction site is absolutely massive. Goes right up against the bayside station. The construction site is MASSIVE
  17. Loved this ride. It’s got all the RMC elements without trying to kill you. Very good pace that isn’t all insane airtime and inversions.
  18. Mystic and Twisted Timbers have better theming than much of what Six Flags is putting out. They have cute little trinkets n stuff, but let's keep it real, neither chain is better than the other when it comes to "theming". Cedar Fair does a lot of things better than Six Flags, theming isnt one of them Knotts does themeing fairly well. Cedar Fair can do it. It's just that they don't have parks besides Knotts that really NEED themeing to thrive. I also think that if this deal was an all cash deal, Cedar Fair would have done it at $70/share. So the saga may ultimately not be over...
  19. No offense, but none of that makes you qualified to know what happened based upon looking a photo. Robb knows all of that already. That doesn't mean it could not have been caused by a bad part or an engineering problem.
  20. Batman & Robin: The Chiller says hi. Though technically it did open for a few days/one week in '97 before being reintroduced as the "New for '98" ride next year. Superman was supposed to be open in 1996 and didn't open until 1997.
  21. ^Or conversely, they made the decision to do the overhaul knowing the parts would be used elsewhere in the future and had to do it to keep it operating when they weren't ready to get rid of it...yet. Given that the ride sat SBNO for a year in 2005 (just 5 years after the overhaul), I'm guessing they knew it was on borrowed time when they did the overhaul. I'm still sticking to my theory that the ride is gone in 5 years tops. Those older large Arrow coasters were certainly not designed with the highest structural engineering standards (hello coat hangers!), so at some point enough will be enough. I think they're just buying time for a worthy replacement to it's hilltop placement...perhaps a 50th anniversary addition?
  22. As much as I love this site, sadly Ifeel like this whole site is slowly dying. I am probably wrong though. TPR is still very active in the world of facebook groups. There's just nothing exciting going on at SFDK. I went almost 10 years between visits from Los Angeles because the bay area didn't offer anything compelling until RailBlazer and Joker were added.
