  1. Reading does a mind good!! Looks like you all are having a splendid time TPR style!!! Pip pip and cherrio to all you blokes and lasses having a bit of fun there in jolly ol England!! Wow, I totally missed that, because I don't remember that at all. I guess I expected there to be something just because a link was posted at the end of the Chessington series to "the next page." EDIT: Ah, now it's showing up as a standard TPR page w/o any pictures, but it has the "this page has not been updated yet" message, which is a lot clearer. Maybe it was my browser yesterday as well, because this makes a lot more sense than a white screen. With this, it's obvious that Robb's set up the pages beforehand so that all he needs to do is upload the pics and captions when he updates, thus reducing time a lot.
  2. Who happens to be a brother's best friend's uncle's cousin's ex-wife's nephew's girlfriends neighbor's sister-in-law's great-grand uncle's step-son, right? Sounds pretty suspicious to me, especially since, yeah, if something like that happened, we'd definitely have local media all over it.
  3. ROFL at the random (well, maybe not that random) RPG nerdy curse. Keep these up!
  4. Maybe the people in Wisconsin are a lot smarter than the rest of America...
  5. Man, I don't know how you manage to take pictures, film video, update the web site, AND have a great time at the parks! You're superhuman! Definitely enjoying these updates. Chessington looks fun, or at least Dragon's Fury does. Coney Beach doesn't seem to work for me right now. I'll try again later, but the page just shows up as empty white.
  6. I'll take three copies of the "Girls of TPR" calendar. Rrrrrrrow! And great ambush video. Too bad Jeff and Lou were only engaged in, at most, high class British porn. Looks like a blast so far, and I'm definitely enjoying this vicariously. One thing I did notice, though... At the surface, this seems like a typical Elissa-friendly picture. But you see, this photo has been cleverly edited. Put a certain fuzzy animal back in its original place and... ...well, it looks like someone's been "beating the gopher," if you know what I mean.
  7. There's a joke there somewhere... Anyway, hope you guys have a great time and take lotsa pics and video so we can experience, firsthand, the six-breasted credit grabbing that will be going on.
  8. LMAO! That is really, really cute! Definitely a future enthusiast, and a really cool video! That pretty much describes all of our experiences here. Nervousness, gut dropping terror, getting used to it, then totally enjoying it by the second half, and then wanting to ride again. Great find!
  9. lmao great reactions. now if only I could understand what they're saying...
  10. And to think... a year or two ago, TPR didn't have any forums. And a few years ago, it was still a relatively "small" site! Man, you guys have grown. Congrats again!
  11. The Sweet 16 theme sounds promising. Normally, it would be pretty corny, but this is HHN we're talking about, and they are immaculate in their presentation, so it's bound to be amazing. I really loved the idea of last year's theme (matched much of my sick imagination ), but I know Universal will outdo themselves again this year. Hopefully, I can visit HHN sometime soon.
  12. so what this looks like is they took the corkscrew out so that they can put in an S-turn that will slam you from side to side, thereby injuring your body instead of your head...
  13. pancakes are better than waffles.
  14. Naturally, I voted first place for myself. But Paul and Julian were 1 and 2 if I were to put my ego aside. I think it'll be down to those two when everything's said and done, but I hope I get some votes too! I'll crank out a list of my own "awards" sometime when I have time.
  15. Okay, that's your winner right there. What OCEAN?! I've heard my fair share, but it usually just amuses me. It's only annoying if they try to argue their incorrect "fact." Once, while working the railroad crossing at Supreme Scream at Knott's, I had an Asian lady ask me where "The Wheelbarrow Ride" was. She didn't speak good English at all, so I was understanding. I stood there for about five minutes trying to figure it out with her, and finally, after eliminating several rides, I figured out she meant the bumper cars, which is named Wheeler Dealer. This was a very understandable case, but I got a mental chuckle out of it after helping her on her way. Although you wouldn't know how many times people asked me where Supreme Scream was after passing its entrance from the north side--and obviously missing that 300 foot white tower (the drop is 255, but there's about 50 feet of structure on top of that) next to them!
  16. Theme Parks, Coasters, and Old Commodore Monitors.
  17. Flashback (SFMM) That ride literally left me with a headache and hurting. At least with Psyclone, I can laugh about it afterwards. Flashback? I'm not kidding when I say they should have had advils dispensed at the end.
  18. Yeah, I watched it on a CRT monitor and noticed that it was definitely a lot darker. I didn't even think about this being an issue when I was making it. I have a laptop, which of course, comes with an LCD monitor, and it looks very nice on my computer. It's something I should keep in mind for the future though. Thanks for the comments!
  19. Well, what else do you call two men tightly gripping a third guy in hopes of getting really, really wet, especially since they're possibly feeling hot and sweaty??
  20. LMAO! That IS pretty good! Great find! (I suppose that's as artist friendly as you can get without porcelain deer)
  21. Wow, lots of long videos this week (three over five minutes I think)! Morgan O'Brien's "Yomiuriland" To be honest, this one struck me as a little blasse. It was more a home video with music rather than a music video, and I thought the camerawork and editing was comparatively poor. I did enjoy the various examples of poster molesting, even if it was rather... disturbing. Some nice examples of those rideable giant mechanimals and stuff. Unfortunately, the music wasn't to my tastes either. Martin Hore's "Janfusun Fancyworld" Another video that didn't stand out, this was still a nice vid that shows a park not many people have seen before. The music choice is better (I know; subjective, but The Used >> Prince in my book), and the shots, while basic pans, do show off the park pretty well. G5 looks like a pretty cool (though ridiculously brief) coaster whose location helps a LOT. The colors in the park, though, are pretty wacky. Did Knott's Berry Farm buy the park out? I do like the parts where you synched the dive machine to drop just as the music hits a high, and although there didn't seem to be a lot of music synchronization aside from that, this certainly wasn't a bad video. Colin Coon's "Cedar Point" I'm probably one of the few people I know who enjoy System of a Down. I shouldn't, but their music is weirdly addicting. Anyway, this was a pretty neat video, well edited, well filmed, with a good mixture of coaster and home video. I though the coaster squeals matched with the music's squeals were pretty cool, and it's pretty evident you did put thought into this. Plus, Cedar Point's a pretty cool park. The raw audio came off a bit overwhelming at some points, but that's not a big deal. This would be one of my favorites from this round. Paul Fowler's "Paramount's Canada's Wonderland" Well, that's certainly the most homoerotic start to a music video... ever. This one started off a little shaky with long shots that didn't seem to match the music and audio that was a little too loud, but it balanced out nicely with a great variety of various coasters and rides from the park. PCW sort of looks like Canada's SFMM to me, except a helluva lot more flats, and seems pretty nice. The various skits were an entertaining touch as well. Again, nothing here really stands out, but it's a great, solid video. Well done! Jarvis Morant's "My Hump" Oh man, how I despise this song! And yet this was my favorite video from this week's batch, and one of my favorites of the contest! I took one look at the song choice and decided you had to be using this for comedic effect (well, in addition to your liking the song). So I expected a video with silliness, and you certainly didn't disappoint. In addition to a well edited and mixed video with great transitions and synchs and clips that matched the lyrics, this vid was just zany. In a great way. It was a splendid mix of coaster and park-going footage, and it's only fitting that it featured a lot of "humps" of its own. HHN footage was greatly appreciated, as were the constant "Check it out"s and stuff. My only negative comment would be I wish I could hear what you were saying in that series where you filmed yourself talking. Other than that, it perfectly captures the fun in theme parking and seems to give a pretty cool peak into your personality, which I must say, is hilariously entertaining. Pamela Lytle's "Little Coaster Season 2005" I wish I could call that a "little" coaster season. Another nice video showing a variety of parks. I didn't see a lot that stood out, but the cinematography and editing was solid (liked the transition after you have the stuffed dragon "swallow" the camera), and the footage was definitely nice. Again, the song here didn't thrill me as much, but it wasn't the worst either. I liked the shots at the smaller parks. Definitely captured the cozy atmosphere. So again, great job! MY UNOFFICIAL FINAL RANKINGS: 1. Paul Ruiz De Miquel - "Parque de Attactiones" 2. Julian Johnson - "Don't Look Down 2005" 3. Tom Mueller - "Port Aventura Video" 4. Jarvis Hayes - "My Humps" 5. Justin Saxe - "Silverwood" 6. Nicolas Chavance - "Efteling" 7. Jonathan Hawkins - "Midwest Conquest" 8. Lars & Cornelia Theissen - "Coaster Season 2005" 9. Kevin Gillian - "What We Learned on Vacation" 10. Mark Owens - "Busch Gardens Tampa and Cypress Gardens" 11. Erik Johnson - "Expedition Everest" 12. Paul Fowler - "Paramount's Canada's Wonderland" 13. Dennis 'Park Junkie' Kolodzeizik - "Slagharen" 14. Dan & Jackie Collison - "EPCOT" 15. Colin Coon - "Cedar Point" 16. Phil Hart - "Carowinds" or "How to Use Your Camera" 17. Pamela Lytle - "Little Coaster Season 2005" 18. Nick Collins - "USA Coaster Trip" 19. Blake Fawley - "Goat Encounter" 20. Jim Williams - "Six Flags Magic Mountain December 2005" 21. Martin Hore - "Janfusun Fancyworld" 22. Barry Hom - "FLCC at Busch Gardens Tampa" 23. Connor Thompson - "Magic Springs" 24. Dave Arnold - "Fantazyland - Alexandria, Egypt" 25. Morgan O'Brien - "Yomiuriland" I'd say the top four would be the main competitors for me when I vote for best video (well, actually, I'd probably vote for my own, but who wouldn't?). These were all enjoyable vids that ranged from nice to mostly solid to amazing. It's definitely cool to see so many people share their passion, and I look forward to the voting and to next year's contest as well! (more comments on my vid would be appreciated as well )
  22. Drywall is a very important part of many houses. Without it, your inside walls would be a lot more expensive! So don't diss it!!!
  23. OMG This looks incredible. I need to near lots of money real fast and get my butt to Germany. Black Mamba looks absurd (in an awesome way). Definitely a winner! What a year for coasters!
  24. Wow, THE Joe Schwartz of Joyrides fame! A pleasure to be an acquaintance! That's a really cool listing of rides! Definitely very useful! Thanks!
