  1. You can just ask whoever is checking restraints. If they say no, you just have to put it away or leave it in the station. They won't send you to the end of the line. If you are asked to leave it in the station, you may want to have a bag handy that doesn't scream, "I'm a camera; steal me!" One thing to remember, be nice to the ops and don't whine, because the nicer you are, the higher the chance they will let you film. Plus, it's just better to be nice than a dick. On the issue of straps: They usually don't care what kind of strap it is, it's usually their opinion on park policy. Hope that helped a little.
  2. I had to come up with a nickname for e-mail when I was about 8; My dad was finally letting me get my own e-mail accout on the family computer. My parents always called me Rockman (My name is Rocky.) so I thought that would be good. The "89" comes from my birth year. I'm not the biggest fan of the name anymore, but my miniscule brain can't remember a new name, so I'm stuck.
  3. I must say I am not a fan of Linkin Park, but if they are the worst you have heard, you need to start listening to more music. With that in mind I point you over to http://www.PureVolume.com and especially a band called Big T Loves (http://www.purevolume.com/bigtloves). Listen to the song "Yo..." and I guarantee that you will never be the same again. (I guess I should warn you; There is some swearing and if you are not this tall, you may not ride/listen.)
  4. In 2005? I haven't seen too many that are upcoming that look good. The only two that I've liked so far have been In Between Dreams by Jack Johnson and The Best Little Secrets Are Kept by Louis XIV. Jack is always amazing, and this new one is no let down. Weezer's Make Believe is okay. Make Believe is kind of catchy, but altogether, it just isn't "great" in my opinion.
  5. Way down there at 192. I guess it ain't too bad for my age, though.
  6. Ugh, that really sucks. It is quite the interesting coaster to watch.
  7. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Six Flags New England, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. You'll have to get past the great music when you watch it, though. http://www.gardalandever.too.it/ Is it just me, or does that thing look really awkwardly braked? I know the ride can't go too fast for some of the things it does, but it looks as if they brake on the drops instead of after them.
  8. Sure, the Volares are bad, but I've had worse. Raging Wolf Bobs at GL has to be the worst. I know they retracked it so it must be better, but when I went on it only the first half was done. It was very decieving; the first half wasn't so bad, but then you hit the second half and it was airtime! Airtime in the sense that the ride is throwing you about so much you are never toching anything for long. It's like a vibrator of death. I don't think I have ever felt so much pain in my back. It ruined a few coasters that were further along on that trip.
  9. Where are you leaving from? If it's Miami, Boomers! is only 20 mi. from the airport. If it's elsewhere you're probably out of luck.
  10. That movie was packed full of things to say on roller coasters! Screw whatever comment I was going to say while on a coaster, I'll now replace it with "Geranamo!" or another of the suave sayings that could be heard. Ooh, I can't wait.
  11. I was on the last train of the night on B:TR at SFMM and there were only about 8 people on the train. We got to the top of the lift and stopped. The lucky (and very tired) op had to climb all the way up to the top to press some button so we could go. There was a look of sheer frustration on his face as he climbed the steps; he was so close to freedom and then had to deal with this.
  12. 4/20 is so much more than drugs. It's a Fascist leader's birthday, aniversary of a school masacre, and the day after a large bombing. I blame the drugs, or Canada where ammounts of up to 1 oz. of pot are legal.
  13. ^ I love the simplicity of the second to last shot. There's something so perfect; I can almost not see the pain.
  14. I would say try to loop the trip and rent a car. I took a 3 week trip a couple summers ago that was a loop from Chicago but it passed NYC. You could just do something like that and you'll hit the major parks (minus Florida).
  15. My home park is Six Flag's Elitch Gardens. Um, I don't really know what else to say... uh... Represent!
  16. Does this mean people would be watching me go to the bathroom and do whatever else I do? I think I'd be more woried about the 43 year old stalker who actually watched the movie. (No offense to any 43 year olds out there; I was talking about the other 43 year old stalker.)
  17. Congrats on the big 100! It must be some wierd subconcious requirement that that coaster has to be a kiddie coaster. I think mine ended up being Woodstock's Express at Dorney Park.
  18. I'm a fan of the B&M speedcoaster seat. That and the smoothness of the coasters combines for a feeling I can only describe as "comfortably numb." My other vote is for the freedom of Phoenix's restraints. There's nothing like the airtime you get while protected by those suckers. -Rocky "Now even more sad Leap the Dips closed early the day he went" Santaferraro
  19. I hope they are strobe lights because that would make an already insane section of track even more insane. It's probably just a neat idea that won't be implemented for some practical reasons others will notice even though I missed them. Either way, I'm begging for a trip to Wisconsin (That really sounds wrong.) for this one. One other thing, this really reminds me of a scene from Dogma. "They were sent to hell?" "Worse, Wisconsin."
  20. Um, how 'bout something like "Donkeys my Ass!" or anything random you see fit? Yup, that sounds fine...
  21. Those videos were awesome, the last two, at least. It seems that someone removed the first video from the site, though. Anyway, the last two were great.
  22. It's on PS2. Quite the cool little game and a steal for only $20. Here's what Gamespot has to say about it: http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/puzzle/katamaridamashii/index.html
  23. All of my friends laughed at me when I bought the game, but it has to be one of the greatest games I own. I have no idea why, either. There's something just so satisfying about it.
