A lot of folks seem to hate on Iron Man 2 quite a bit. I can only attribute that to theatergoers who seem to want action sequences every five minutes, or else the movie is automatically boring.

People seem to crap all over the 2008 Incredible Hulk movie with Ed Norton, but I thought it was a lot of fun. I mean, the guy actually fights a supervillain in this movie, instead of just the military. It's way better than the 2003 movie, which I often call The Incredible Sulk. Don't make me angsty...you wouldn't like me when I'm angsty.

This is PewDiePie. He posts hilarious videos of himself playing scary games ("Amnesia: The Dark Descent" being the one that people know him for) complete with his facecam reactions.

What is your next park?
Movieguy replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'll be heading down to Knoebels in August, on the week of my birthday. Haven't been down there since 2008. -
For some odd reason, when I hear the name X-flight, it reminds me of Delta Dreamflight, which used to be at WDW. Six Flags welcomes you back from your X-flight The awesomest ride of your life! Once you've taken an X-flight, the earth's an inspiring sight! There's excitement! There is screaming! Sailing the skies so blue. Yes the X-flight is the best chance, for a Q-bot to dreams old and new! For you, we've created the X-flight, the most heart-pounding flight of your life! Once you've taken a part in the X-flight, you'll see rides in a different light!

Knoebels Discussion Thread

^^ Thank you Josh. I discovered that the Holiday Inn Express has slightly lower rates currently than the Hampton Inn in Danville, and it seems to have more in the way of amenities too. So, I've made my reservation for the nights of August 7 and August 8. -

I'm planning on heading to Knoebels this year for my summer trip, since I haven't been there since July of 2008. I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Danville, which was nice, but I'd like to know about any other possibilities, since this is a section of PA with which I'm not too familiar. I'll be bringing my Mother too, I think, since she talked about an old park she used to go to in Western PA called Cascade Park, and I think Knoebels would remind her a lot of it. She was also impressed by a video I showed her of the Phoenix. I'm curious, what are the crowds there like in August? I'll have to go in early in that month, since I'm rehearsing for a show that's going on in late July. What are the best days to go? -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread

I don't see any issue with Kennywood serving beer. That's a park that REALLY cares about its atmosphere, and if anybody at all were abusing the alcohol privileges, they would deal with it in a second. They don't mess around at that park. -

This summer, I plan on heading back to Knoebels, since I haven't been there since 2008. Only thing is, there doesn't seem to be much of anything else in the area outside of the park, and the nearest hotel is 20 miles away, which has kept me from going back. -

I loved Crystal Pepsi. I'm surprised it didn't take off either. Speaking of Soda, if CP switched from Pepsi to Coca-Cola, do you think it would become a bigger favorite of Robb's? -

I remember the 93 Getaway guide! It was even helping to promote Crystal Pepsi, if I remember correctly. -
Anyone on here like anime or manga?
Movieguy replied to iluvalbinos's topic in Random, Random, Random
Oh yes, I watched all of Wing subbed, same for Zeta. I subscribed to Crunchyroll, mainly so I could watch all of Zeta, and they had it subbed. When I found that they only had a dubbed version of 00, however, I immediately found that one on another site. Only subbed will do for me. I like Evangelion quite a bit too, though it's a little avant garde for my taste. -

Anyone here a Gundam fan? I've been obsessed with that particular franchise for a while now. I had a nice little geek-out moment too, when the TPR guys found the Gundam displays at Japan's Space World park. I recently got Gundam Wing for my Birthday and watched all of that, now I'm back to watching Zeta Gundam, which Netflix recently pulled for some unknown reason, with both SEED Destiny, and Unicorn in my sights for the future. -
Funny you should mention that. Sorry to get off topic, but it does seem that ET hasn't held up as a film too well in the years since its release, at least in terms of its impact on popular culture. That may be why the re-release flopped. On the other hand, you look at two films that came out the same year and were forgotten immediately in ET-mania, Blade Runner and John Carpenter's The Thing, but over the years have become much, much more popular (The latter even having its own maze at HHN). I was never on the ET ride, only saw videos, so I guess this might be why its been ripped out of all the parks except for Florida's...for now.

I've never been to Universal, so I really don't know what to say, other than it sucks that a Universal Icon such as Jaws is on his way out of the park. ET's probably next, since it's been ripped out of all the other parks, and Back to The Future is fading fast as well. This got me thinking, does Universal really have any bankable franchises these days to use at their parks? Harry Potter's from Warner Bros, The Simpsons are a Fox property, and Transformers was a Dreamworks/Paramount venture. The only Modern Universal franchise I can think of is Mummy. Can we really call the place Universal anymore? I can understand the need to stay innovative, but I don't know why they can't just improve on their existing franchises to keep them fresh. It must be expensive to get the rights from all those other franchises as well.

I love it. It's great to get a look at Circus World too. After seeing that Knotts film, I immediately got the Heaven 17 album with that song on Itunes afterward. -
Heavy D also did the original theme song of In Living Color, one of my favorite old TV shows.

There's been some sadness in my life recently. Adam Winter, my best friend since middle school, recently died from a heart condition he'd been battling his whole life. I had been visiting him in the Hospice where had spent his final days, and we luckily got to say everything we needed to each other before he left. This guy really had an amazing life, looking back now. I'll let you all see for yourselves in his obituary. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/theithacajournal/obituary.aspx?n=adam-winter&pid=154186451 So long, Adam. You were the best friend a lonely Aspie could have asked for, Our trips to concerts, to the State Fair, and to Darien Lake, will rank among the best memories of my life. See you in heaven, buddy.

Best Theme Park Food
Movieguy replied to ChrisZer0's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This summer, I experienced quite a bit of good park food. I experienced the pizza at Del Grossos, and I loved the sauce, which I just ordered another case of recently for our pasta dishes back home. I still like the pizza at Knoebels a little better though, because the crust on the Del Grossos pie was a little bit lacking for me. At Lakemont, I tried a stack of millennium chips (They called them something else I can't remember), topped with all kinds of tasty, heart clogging stuff, and it was quite good, aside from maybe needing a little more salt. Then I got to experience the phenomena known as the Potato Patch at Kennywood for the first time since 2005. Plus they had one at Idlewild, which made things doubly sweet. Something about those fries, the real bacon bits, and the cheese, that just keeps me coming back for more. There wasn't really anything of note at Waldameer, though I thought their funnel cake was pretty good.
