  1. Come on ToTheMax012, share the reason! Good, and hopefully cold this evening! The aircoditioning installation is being finished at the moment. Finally a nice temperature in the bedroom
  2. Ah well... A night of sleep gives a much better feeling. Hopefully the players feel the same In 2012 we will take the Europian Cup and in 2014 we will get the World Cup as well!
  3. Very bad finale, not only because we lost... Both teams were playing awfull and the referee totally missed the corner NL should have gotten. Furtermore, the pass which was followed by the Spain goal was not in-game (Is that the term to use?). How must he feel when he sees that moment at home TV...? On the other hand, this is what we needed to kick Seph Blatter's a$$. Thuur -you have to filter the emotion in this post- Crompvoets
  4. ^Good luck with your Mac Book Pro. i always wanted one, but the 3D software doesn't run on a Mac We have one of our guys working on Windows 7 at the office. We haven't experienced any big crashes yet (Nothing not-regular-windows). We are doing heavy video/3D renderings and compositing. So I hope it will stay that way. Fingers crossed! A bit of-topic, but I don't think it's worth opening a thread for: which HD output format do you prefer? Windows doesn't seem to like the H.264 codec (Crashing after finishing the render). Mpeg2 seems to go a lot better
  5. I had to laugh, Germany has a goalkeeper named 'Butt' (It's their 2nd goalkeeper)
  6. Joris en de Draak at Efteling. Back tomorrow for some more rides. One of our best friends (Coaster enthousiast as well), who was in Australia during the opening is visiting the park with us, always cool to ride with a first-timer.
  7. During the European Championship he was wrong as well. I think he's just not really good at performing under the pressure of a final Thuur - I hope they sell him to some Japanese family after the world cup - Crompvoets
  8. $50 to get the feeling your head is inside a concrete mixer? I always liked the Arrow coasters for their weird lay-outs and moves (Not to actually ride them, just to laugh about). So it is kind of sad to see anotherone go down... At least I am glad they're not building another coaster by simply putting on the parking lot. (I have to admit that the sand/dirt underneath GASM is not very inspiring either). Thuur - Arrow -1 - Crompvoets
  9. It can be here if it affects how you I guess. I feel terribly lazy, I have to write some (technical) information today about our new CGI interactive products. But the words are kind of stuck in my head or something... I like working, but at the moment I am glad it is almost weekend!
  10. I am getting seriously nervous now... And I don't even care about soccer (Besides the European and World cup). Today the canalroute which the team will make if (IF!) we win was made public. EDIT: only 9 living boats will be on the route. Amsterdam is already talking to the owners. Thuur - Come on, let it be Sunday! - Crompvoets
  11. Sounds pretty heavy! What did have surgery for if I may ask? Thanks for sharing, the sore throat is the least of your worries so it seems. It there some sort of govenrment help when you're jobless and want to get a job? In Holland the government will help you find a job (When you don't work, you will cost the Dutch society money. When you work, you contribute)
  12. It will be a big outdoor theatre, with a show written by a Dutch book writer. It seems to be quite spectaculair what they come up with. Efteling used to have the 5th largest theatre in Holland, with a parkshow. But they are using that for paid musicals now. So they need another place to have shows. There will also be a big place for parties/congresses and it will hold all office staff of the Efteling. Furthermore there will be a restaurant and bar.
  13. The most heard question worldwide (I think ). This has been one of the most popular topics ever on the dutch Themepark.nl forums. I am interested in how YOU feel today. So please... share with us! I will kick-off: I am feeling tired and proud! I have just installed one unit for our new airconditing in our bedroom (and living room). I am sweating my a$$ of on the couch in the living room. The pride comes from the fact that I installed the unit exactly leveled... and it worked! Handymen Thuur, for all your construction jobs! Go ahead... if you want PS: I couldn't find a topic like this in the search function (Mostly because 'how', 'are' and 'you' are words that are filtered out by the search)
  14. My bet is of course on The Netherlands. We don't have a extraordanary good team, but the players do have a good drive to win and (so far) they have the right amount of luck that is needed to become world champion. 2-1 for the Dutch in standard time with goals from Sneijder (Of course) and Robben. Oh, by the way: If (if!) The Netherlands win, there will be a canal tour in Amsterdam on Tuesday. So TPR Europe tour guys, be glad you saw some living boats! On Tuesday they will sink again... just like in '88. (From 1:40 min...)
  15. I had this dream when I was in high school. I guess it is something that a lot of themeparkfans have, but not many actually make the efforts to get there (They lose interest in that kind of job and only want to be on the hobby-side, just like myself). I talked to some engineers at Vekoma (I used to live almost around the corner) and they advised the following; aircraftengineering or mechanical engineering (it seems calculations are quite simular). If you want to be an engineer making calculations al day! The part where you actually design coasters is somewhat different and takes other skills as well. I guess these can be developed on the job as you grow with every job you will have in the future (At least, that is the good part of having a job... Learning a lifetime). Good luck and keep us posted! Some other advice from my side which I always give to our interns: Looking for internships (Or jobs) won't get you the best possible spot. Actually taking the step and contacting with for instance GCI or Vekoma (I know both take interns) will get you further and will show the company you are motivated. Yes, it will take some effort and may not always work the first time. The sooner you are in touch with the right people, the longer you can build on a both-way relationship.
  16. You mean "12 And Pregnant"??? Lol. At my school, for my class alone, about 15% of the girls are pregnant or have been. But I'm in high school, not middle school where the 12-year-olds are. Kids REALLY are having children in middle school. WTF. What's wrong with using condoms...? They aired that show on MTV NL as well. It is some of the best type casting ever... My girlfriend works at elementary school as a teacher, she sees all kinds of crazy names. The latest trend in Holland is naming your boy 'Kik'.
  17. To save the European pride, only some places in Italy, Spain and southern France have such great... ehm, well... I don't want to call it toilets. I personally like Gardaland very much, good to see you enjoyed it as well!
  18. When you want to be a game level designer/character creator/animator/anything with 3d modelling, a good place to start is in a company like the place I work (3DIMERCE.com). Next to my management tasks, I also am the internship coach for students who take their internship at our place and help them live their dreams (Or at least... take 8 hours of their day and fill it with 3d-related stuff) We create CGI-content for consumer electronics, which can be used troughout the lifecycle of the product (Consumer electronics are in a fast moving market so timing is key here). We are good in creating concepts for animations and on the technical field we are market leader (In terms of quality and reality). We learn lots of students who want to be in the gaming industry how a company structure works (You can learn this in any good structured company though), besides that we also learn them concept creating/storyboarding/writing scripts and the technical aspects of 3d modelling. Can be a good start! We have seen people grow towards gaming companies (Small companies, but it is a start) However, those were all 3d-creators.
  19. My last concert, that would be Guus Meeuwis, a Dutch artist who filled up the PSV stadium (35.000) 5 times this year. Already booked the tickets for 2011! Another concert was Scooter (But not the last so technically of topic), I always go to their concerts in Köln, Germany. Every two years they have this really cool show with lots of pyrotechniques and really bad dance/trance music. It's so wrong, it's cool! One of my favourite bands, which I try to attend yearly, Rowwen Heze. Known in the south of Holland for their folk music. Here together with Guus Meeuwis: (Yes, the beer throwing is something typical for Rowwen Heze)
  20. With long hair... (Atlantica, Europa Park) My 'new' coupe... (Had to make this picture for my work)
  21. I hope it is still there then... Great to see all the updates! I was in the park on Sunday. I have seen some members, when I remembered what fun I have missed on this forum over the years. I hope you have enjoyed the trip troughout Europe, even though it seems we broke more coasters then we buidl last year
  22. Hi everyone! I became a member in 2005, so most of the members may not know me. The international coasterscene has lost my attention for a few years because of my study. Now that I have finished that (since a while...) I can spend a sh*tload of money (The amount shocks me every year) on coastertrips. I now work at a content creating agency (CGI business) as operational manager. The themepark hobby is still living inside me, my favourite coaster being Tonnerre de Zeus (Parc Asterix) and Expedition GeForce (Holiday Park). Nice to meet everyone and hope to ride a coaster (again) with you someday! I promise I will remain active on the forum now, don't want to miss all the fun here (again)! EDIT: I think I have to update my avatar... after 10 years of long hair, I cut it off.
  23. And there we are! Holland enters the finals, what a match... I think I have to get my heart checked in the hospital now. U-R-Gay players (©homer)... byebye! EDIT: I hope that woman has strong cheeckbones...
  24. A huge Vekoma tiltcoaster which drops all the way down... sounds nice, anyone interested? To bad I never rode this coaster and unfortunatly... never will...
  25. Fata Morgana - Efteling - Holland... Maybe some of the ACE'ers who where on the Europe trip a few years ago can give their opinion about it?
