  1. Great photos. Those dark rides at Phantasialand were indeed bizarre. Mary and I had a really good time making up a story for that ghost one. Plus it had alligator ninjas, which is just an awesome idea all on its own. dt
  2. Michael Vick is one of the most overrated players in NFL history, so I was not surprised when the Saints crushed them on Monday. dt
  3. Beer + Random German Girl Cleavage + Passed Out Derek = ENTERTAINMENT!!! I'm still laughing. I can't wait to hear the story behind this... dt
  4. I think if you obsess over anything, you'll eventually burn yourself out on it. I have a bunch of different things I enjoy doing, and only one of them is parks/coasters. I think if I went to a park every weekend, I'd get tired of it pretty quickly, so I don't. I've found that taking a couple of trips a year keeps me interested. I also have to agree with Elissa, that I find the parks outside of the US to be a lot more fun and a lot easier to visit. Most US parks are overrun with the most horrible forms of humanity possible, and I find that I just do not have any desire to deal with people like this on what is supposed to be my "fun" time any more. After visiting places like Europa Park, Blackpool and Liseberg, I find my desire to pay a visit to my closest Six Flags Hellpit to be just about zero, and I don't see that changing any time soon, since I think we all know the odds of SF getting their act together and improving their customer service skills to a WalMart level are, um, not good... dt
  5. ^Elissa is right. I have just as much fun at parks now as I did when I was a kid. Knowing not to wait an hour for a boomerang, or to stay out of a corporate park on a summer Saturday only adds to my enjoyment. I'm not your "typical" enthusiast where I study the details of every ride, or watch endless POVs before riding something. I can see where that might ruin your enjoyment of a new experience. I also don't visit the same park over and over and over and over in the same season. Helps to keep things fresh. dt
  6. I've seen the one at Downtown Disney in Orlando, and thought it was very good. I plan on checking out one of the shows in Vegas if and when I ever get back there... dt
  7. Queensryche at the House Of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ. Good show, but the HoB has a really odd layout that is totally not set up for decent sound, at least for those on the floor. I wonder if all the HoB's are set up like this... dt
  8. I'll need to see the episode, but can it possibly top the awesomness of the episode where they go to Duff Gardens? I think not! That clip was pretty amusing, though. I'll have to catch this one when they repeat it. dt
  9. Last night I had a Young's Old Nick, which was awesome. Just now with dinner (crab soup and steamed shrimp), a Stella. dt
  10. Awesome TR so far. The captions were hilarious! dt
  11. Robb for the win. And I guess I now know why my constant email campaign to my radio to tell it to play better music is not working... As for the new coaster, I'm not jumping up and down here with excitement, but I'll hold off judgement until I get on the ride. VF is a park I've never been to, so perhaps this will give me an excuse to go out and visit the area. dt
  12. ^Yes! These trips are an amazing deal. I almost signed up for all three of the 2007 ones, but I've been to all the parks on the mid-west one, so I just decided I'll do the other two and for the mid-west just show up at some of the parks the same day the tour is there to terrorize the trip participants! dt
  13. OK, as long as you name them after that awesome dude that hosts Top 5. Any show that has the topic "Top 5 Things That Taste Like Chicken" and then has the #1 item as chicken has to be given such tribute... dt
  14. That second name isn't going to look really good on a passport... dt
  15. If it wasn't for the race track across the parking lot, this place would have been filled with condos/houses years ago... dt
  16. ^I need your phone number... dt
  17. We just returned from ProgPower in Atlanta, which featured the following: Theocracy Circus Maximus Leatherwolf Circle II Circle Pyramaze Savage Circus Freak Kitchen Mercenary Evergrey Zero Hour Vision Divine Thunderstone Epica Jorn Lande (w/ members of Pagan's Mind) A kickass weekend. Freak Kitchen totally stole the show in their US debut. dt
  18. Guitar and keyboards. I used to write music for random TV and video projects when I lived in LA. I haven't worked on any serious projects in awhile, though I'm getting back into it. dt
  19. Mary is in Canada this week, and I am already bored, since I have no one to terrorize. Perhaps I'll start drinking and randomly calling people in my cell phone, or hang out in TPR chat and scare people. Or just fall asleep on the couch watching TV. Driving from Altanta to Baltimore in one day is not fun. Getting a dead battery is even less fun. And having to sit at a gas station in some small town in SC for an hour waiting for AAA is totally not fun. At least we made it home without any further problems. My other rant is how can the Eagles be leading the Giants by 17 in the fourth quarter and then blow the game? I guess not being at home to watch the game was a good thing... dt
  20. Nice report. Robb always entertains. I haven't seen Dallas or Bethany in awhile, they are really growing up fast. OK, this sounds like one of the most awesome things ever. But while this was an odd sight at SFMM, it would seem like business as usual at the WalMart just down the road... dt
  21. Yeah, it was a powered coaster. Hopefully they'll buy something cooler with the cash. This park is a really cool place. I don't think any of us on that trip expected to have as much fun as we did there. It was the highlight of Italy for me. Well, that and Katun... dt
  22. Yay for pictures of Derek. And Nicole. That park actually looks like a cool place that I'll have to visit some time. And congrats to Adam & Ellen! dt
  23. I will freely admit that I know nothing about beer, especially compared to the rest of you. But I do enjoy the taste of Stella, so I drink it. I also like Guinness. There are two tastes that really don't go together... dt
  24. Boy: Dave Girl: Davina Named after the greatest person ever, of course. Of course, they could go the Zappa family route, and give their kid a name like Industrial Meat Slicer Alvey, which also has a nice ring to it... dt
  25. Stella rules. And oddly enough, Mary and I each had a glass yesterday. dt
