  1. The renovated Splash Island entrance.
  2. ^Lava Monster would make anything better. Even DCA. And that's quite an accomplishment, even for Lava Monster. dt
  3. CGA is pretty bad. FlightDeck is still amazing, though. I used to go to this park all the time when I lived in SF, so it was cool to visit it again, but it's really nothing more than a credit stop at this point. I am VERY curious to see the next part of your PTR... dt
  4. Just to add to this, I had never been to LC for Halloween before, and really liked the event. Sure, it's not HHN, but it was still fun. I really liked the outdoor sections, especially the graveyard. I was attached to Cora the entire way (for those that don't know, I've had many eye surgeries, and have trouble seeing in the dark and/or with bright lights/strobes), and we got some really good scares, especially in the jungle area. A lot of the actors were really good and totally into their roles, which helps. There were a fair amount of strobes, so I would just shut my eyes and trust Cora to get me through the room, and she did an awesome job. I had always heard good things about the Haunted Graveyard, and it did not disappoint. Hope to visit again next year... dt
  5. ^Though massive, the amount of alcohol that Piers has consumed is an insignificant number when compared to Jeff Johnson's true age. Science still cannot even begin to measure this number. Fixed. dt
  6. ^HOLY CRAP?!? I HAD NO IDEA THE ROBOCOASTER AT EPCOT IS OPEN!!! Stunning news indeed... dt
  7. Deposits for Mid-America and Europe sent. dt
  8. ^A woman that would actually want to talk to me?!? The sun would explode. dt
  9. Eh, you could have yelled at me. Usually people yell far worse things at me. And they are usually people I know! Just general advice for anyone reading: I will usually be sort of quiet the first time I meet anyone, as I have found again and again that The Dave Experience is just not for everyone, so I have to greatly dial down my insanity most of the time. But feel free to come up to talk to me or introduce yourself at parks. I am harmless. I cannot speak to Ice Bat's level of potential danger, of course. But as you see in many photos, he's drunk most of the time, so he should be fine... dt
  10. Quick, take it to the local mall! There are likely many idiots there it can attack! This PTR is among the greatest things ever posted to the internet. Though I have to say Mr. Bitey > Mr. Shark. dt
  11. This is the sort of thing better discovered by using Google or some other search engine. Thanks. dt
  12. This is the sort of statistic that I approve of. Actually, sharks really don't attack that many people. Which needs to be fixed. This is exactly the sort of thing that scientists should be working on day and night, to make sure sharks attack more people. And planes. dt
  13. Ice Bat would NEVER do anything to the awesomeness that is EGF!!! Anything at King's Island, on the other hand... dt
  14. The TPR hoodie is seriously one of the greatest items I have ever purchased. I wear it all the time, as my office is usually cold in every season but summer. And, as it has already been pointed out, THEY ARE ICE BAT APPROVED! That right there is reason enough to BUY BUY BUY!!! dt
  15. Knott's used to be one of the best parks in the country. Cedar Fair has completely destroyed the place. Between horrible employees, idiotic policies (seriously, the glasses policy here was the worst I've ever experienced), horrible operations, and horrible, HORRIBLE line jumping and other terrible human behavior, this was easily the worst park of the trip. I seriously thought we were going to get stabbed at one point during the day. The crowd at Knott's now reminds me of the sort of crowd that would show up at SFMM in the '90's. I guess Knott's management only cares if people come in the park, and not about how they act once they get there. I have to expound on the glasses policty, which was apparently at the whims of whoever was working a ride at any particular moment. I was told early in the day I could wear my sunglasses (which I need if I'm outside, as due to all the eye surgery I've had I'm almost blind without them in sunlight) if I had a strap. But this policy would vary from ride to ride, totally at random. Sometimes the strap was needed, sometimes not, and sometimes I had to remove them NO MATTER WHAT. The rudeness with which these things were explained to me was amazing. Seriously, you CAN answer a question proposed to you by a park guest without acting like your soul is being destroyed while answering. Hopefully not too many of them needed extensive therapy after having to do their job. At least Kerry was around to help me on rides where I had to remove my glasses. Thanks Kerry! Xcellerator was fun. This was my first time on it, as every other time I've been to the park it's been closed for repairs. And I was smart enough to NOT ride Ghostrider again. So I guess the day wasn't a total loss... dt
  16. Yeah, I'd totally agree with that. The Lotte World ride is amazing. FIRE BREATHING SNAKES!!! dt
  17. Pie destroys cake. Pushing Daisies rules. Stupid TV networks. That pie looks tasty. I have to make one like that some time. One of my winter projects is to teach myself how to bake more things. I think I will document these attempts, with the assistance of Chef Ice Bat. dt
  18. Actually, it's Erik Johnson. I don't believe that Jeff Johnson has the ability at his age to concentrate on somenthing like Elissa Bingo. Or anything else. Except telling everyone stories about how when he first started delivering mail, stamps were actually pebbles. The awesome Dollar Store is actually located in fabulous Cockeysville, MD. The Elissa Bingo videos are shot in beautiful Lutherville, MD. This is important stuff to know, as they could be questions on TPR trivia some day, and you'd hate to get them wrong and miss out on valuable prizes! Thanks! Seriously, I figure that I annoy the living hell out of everyone that I come in contact with, so it's good to know that people are actually entertained and amused by my nonsense. It does make me happy when people actually play the game, and especially take MANY MANY photos of Elissa, as she just loves it! So thanks for playing! Your TRs rock. I really liked Castle Park. Kerry and I had the most INSANE ride on the Spider there. Probably the best flat ride of the trip, or at least tied with the Chaos at the Adventuredome, that we got to flip a couple of times. dt
  19. Have not watched Flash Forward yet, but I have read the book. Curious to see how much of that ends up in the TV show. Three and a half months until Lost returns!!! dt
  20. Yeah, CGA is a pretty sad place. And SFMM was amazing fun that day, even if it was brutally hot. Terminator ERT was amazing. And don't forget what else we did on that LONG bus ride back from the bay area...MEGA SHARK VS. GIANT OCTOPUS!!! I was entertained, anyway. Sorry about your suck week. My camera died too. Less than a year old. Like Elissa said, it was probably protesting from having been around so many crappy coasters... dt
  21. No. Yeah. This doesn't work here. There are many, many, MANY places on the internet for you to discuss "controversial" things if you so desire. This is not one of them, as these sorts of discussions just escalate out of control eventually, and create more work for Robb, Elissa and the mods. So we stick to the coaster/park talk and other less controversial subjects. Seems to work pretty well. dt
  22. As you probably know by now, Disney has bought Marvel. This of course has led to all sorts of speculation as to what sort of Marvel attractions will show up at Disney parks. Well, here's your chance to show us! Post your best imagining of what Marvel themes could be applied to an existing Disney attraction at any of the parks, or an entirely new attraction! Have fun! Some rules: 1 - All contest images MUST be uploaded to TPR in this thread. You can upload as many images as you like, but only one can be entered into the contest, and must be labeld as "Official Entry #1" before voting starts. 2 - Keep entries "PG-13" 3 - Contest closes at Noon EST on September 13. The winner will get a TPR Bag-O-Crap! Plus there could be a bonus "mystery prize"... dt
  23. THIS IS THE BEST IDEA EVER! Seriously, how awesome of a theme would that be for this ride? I'm imaging the queue and pre-show now. And laughing like a madman. This so needs to happen. Giant sharks > Harry Potter. dt
