  1. ^Those that were not in the lobby that night will NEVER know what they missed! Renee picking just the right time to sing the "snack song" is one of the funniest trip moments ever. And I'm still annoyed I only bought one copy of that Just Busted paper. Lake Winnie was awesome. I had never been there, so I had no idea what to expect, and it turned out to be a really cool place. Lots of fun flat rides! dt
  2. Wow, interesting that Cedar Point is going to let us know what Europa Park is getting next year! Wow, interesting that Cedar Point is going to let us know what Dollywood is getting next year! Wow, interesting that Cedar Point is going to let us know what Liseberg is getting next year! Wow, interesting that Cedar Point is going to let us know what Tokyo Disney is getting next year! Wow, interesting that Cedar Point is going to let us know what <> is getting next year! Post Of The Month. dt
  3. As always, Robb's analysis is perfect. Lost Continent should have been left alone. I'll really be sad the day they destroy Mythos. Though management has already sort of destroyed it with the dumbed-down menu, but that's a different story... I'm still trying to figure out if I can get down to BGW for one last BBW ride. Might be able to fit it in the schedule at the end of the month. We'll see. dt
  4. ^Intamin Megalites have actual airtime and forces, two things that are greatly frowned upon by CF and Knott's. So no, won't happen. dt
  5. As someone else that has worked in the game industry (I even worked at the same company as Robb for awhile), I implore all of you to really, really pay attention to everything he says. His description of the game industry and how it really works is PERFECT and really needs to be read by people, especially those that think that making games is "fun". It's actually a crapload of annoying work. And remember, this is Disney. They have more money than many nations. And they will have no problem developing something like this and killing it right before it's published. They've done it many, many times in the past, and will do it many, many times in the future. And they probably have at least one warehouse (or more) of concept art of projects that will never see the light of day. I'm really thinking this is going to be one of them, as I still cannot wrap my brain around the theme and what they're trying to do. And remember, I like my entertainment DARK AND SCREWED UP. This is normally the sort of thing that would intrigue me, but so far I'm not excited, even with Spector's involvement. It just seems to me that at this point they're tossing a bunch of non-connected ideas together to see what might work. I guess we'll all have to wait and see what happens, but I wouldn't be heading down to Gamestop to put in your pre-order just yet... dt
  6. ^I'm going to be very unappreciative if you don't wear a cape at some point during the trip... dt
  7. As always, the people complaining are not even going to the event! Typical. People really don't realize the INSANE amount of work Robb & Elissa put into these trips and events. Trust me, most of you would not be able to do this. I know I wouldn't be able to do it. It requires more effort and work and time than you can possibly imagine. And opening these trip days up as an event makes ever MORE work for them! The lack of appreciation some people have amazes me. The trips are awesome fun, and I always recommend them to people. But it makes me nuts when people whine about stuff, especially when it's something where something was set up to make the trip/event BETTER. It's like getting a bag full of money, and then complaining that there are too many $20 bills. I do not get it. Then again, some people just have to complain about everything. I think anyone at the event that complains should be fed to the tigers that morning... dt
  8. I am so happy some people did go experience the awesomeness that is Jurassic Tour. I think they spent slightly less than the $14 you have to pay to ride it on the effects inside. So amazing. NASCAR Speedpark was pretty much a dump, and was full of horrible children and horrible adults that thought they were race car drivers. After doing one track with the "serious racers" we fled to the Logan's Roadhouse across the street for some much needed beer. We did get a good Tilt-A-Whirl ride while at the park, though. And even Ice Bat is embarrassed by that "credit" we got before Carabba's. I think it's slightly larger than Teeny Weeny, but not by much. dt
  9. Deus Ex was amazing, but I have doubts about this. I can't imagine Disney letting their iconic characters and settings being used in a "dark" game. Certainly not a shooter or any type. So I'm thinking if there is a game, it's going to be something very, very different than the stuff Spector has done in the past. Honestly, it's hard to tell what it might be at this point, as there's about zero information. Pretty pictures, though I wonder if it's more concept art than anything that might actually appear in a game. dt
  10. ^Blech! Sorry you had to drink that. And that margarita I had at the Texas Roadhouse in "damp" Pigeon Forge was very odd. That drunk guy at the bar made it totally worth it, though. dt
  11. ^^I don't think I had ever actually seen someone drink Colt 45 before that night. Amazing. At least on the other nights we had tasty beers, including Blue Moon. But we could have been drinking the worst beer in the world, and it still would have been a good time because of the people drinking... dt
  12. The two days at Dollywood were seriously among the best park days ever on any TPR trip. One of the best parks in the US, if not the world. I can't wait to go back there again. dt
  13. ^Possibly. I don't remember what food pictures I took at Dollywood. I haven't looked at my pictures yet. I know I took WAY less pictures than I usually do on trips. Not sure why. This thread lives, it's just impossible to update while on trips. I'll try to add some stuff to it before West Coast... dt
  14. I'm amazed that bread lasted that long! And your quoting of the "snack song" that night in the lobby is still one of the funniest things ever. I'm back from both trips. I have abused my body in ways I thought not possible. But I had awesome fun and already miss the people, especially the group of insane people that put up with me for the entire Deep South trip (especially Renee). It's the people that make these trips so much fun. Thanks again, Robb & Elissa for all the stuff you do putting these together. As far as the Carowinds photo contest, I picked Jay as the Male winner, and Brooke as the female winner. They got an extra-awesome prize, which hopefully someone photographed. Many photos of Ice Bat and random objects and people coming soon... dt
  15. ^NOTHING CAN REPLACE ELISSA BINGO!!! On a slightly related topic, the 2009 Elissa Bingo Instructional Video is DONE. Hopefully it will amuse. We'll see in a few days on the Deep South trip! And on topic, I look forward to visiting SFGAm again some day. I really liked that park. dt
  16. ^I think a lot of people would pay to see that happen. dt
  17. Falafel & I loved that place, as it was total cheese and had gators and bears and other random creatures scattered about. Mini-golf rules. There better be some next week! dt
  18. No Final Countdown = Fail. So it's totally KC & The Sunshine Band for me! I suspect that a lot of these songs are ones either owned outright by some Universal-owned company, or ones with an already existing/cheap licensing agreement. Which is why I also suspect why there are repeat artists. At least the playlist isn't clogged with American Idol rejects and winners you've already forgotten about... dt
  19. ^^Amazing. I loved Power Park! Lots of fun stuff to do, and the whole resort was really nice. It should be pointed out that the location of this park makes Knoebel's look like it's located near a major megalopolis, as PP is REALLY in the middle of nowhere! But it was certainly worth the drive, and I look forward to visiting again some day. dt
  20. Constant Ice Bat updates! Or links to videos of Bryan singing classic '80's tunes like "Total Eclipse Of The Heart". dt
  21. ^That's the sort of "renovation" that should be performed on a lot of coasters! I've never been on it, so I'll ride it once in the front seat, and pray for the safety of my bones... dt
  22. Had Kristen actually eaten all that cotten candy, she would have been awake until she was five. Grona Lund rules! One of the best parks in the world. I can't wait to go back there some day. dt
  23. Hmm, perhaps Ice Bat might show up during this sessions of the B&A show. Only if you meet his extensive list of demands, of course. dt
