  1. I love mini-golf, and this place looks amazing! I will have to check this out sometime when I'm in Orlando. Thanks for the pics! dt
  2. I had no idea this existed. It's a cool idea that I wouldn't mind seeing being set up in more cities in the North. Thanks for posting the pics! dt
  3. That last picture reminds me of one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Everyone riding that tiny coaster, I'm amazed it survived all of us! dt
  4. I think the Hunger Games comparison is apt, since modern B&M coasters are equally overrated... My vote for this new track is some park outside of the US. I can't see a US park getting track for a 2013 coaster this soon. What park, I have no idea, though somewhere in China is a likely guess. dt
  5. I love this park. So many interesting attractions, and there's a McDonald's! Was it a billion degrees when you guys were there? Our visit in 2007 was one of the hottest days I've ever experienced in my life. dt
  6. ^I love that park. I'd seriously put it in my personal Top 10 Favorite Parks list. Though if they've dropped the theme song, I may have to re-think that... dt
  7. Please tell me that Space World still has that awesome theme song! dt
  8. This. And Elissa, that's a really good point. I do wonder if anyone's thinking perhaps they should have gone a different way with their latest coaster addition after all these issues. dt
  9. Looking at these food pictures compared to what we had last week is actually making me mad. Damn you Carnival! dt
  10. Well done. I know that was an insane amount of work, but you pulled it off. Thanks for posting that! dt
  11. HOTTEST CARNIVAL EMPLOYEE EVER Tiffany was one of the few cool people we encountered during the cruise. She needs to get a job on a better cruise line! dt
  12. I'm going to have a LOT more to say about this later (especially about the food - if you've read my food reports in the past, you can just imagine what I'm going to be saying about the crap they served up on this ship!) but I just want to point out right now that while I went into this thinking it wouldn't be as "bad" as we thought it might be, and that perhaps Carnival had an undeserved reputation, I was 100% wrong. This is easily the foulest, most horrible place I've ever spent any vacation time. The ship was horrible, the service beyond terrible, and the food...oh god, the food...never have I seen such crap in my life. I'd say that Carnival should be ashamed for putting forth such an abysmal produce, but there seems to be an audience for pure crap, so I'm sure they figure they need to change or improve nothing, as there will always be another Coors Light swilling gang of idiots who will happily sign up for this torment and proclaim it "best cruise ever!". Did we have fun? Oh yes. But it was because of the group, not anything that Carnival provided. Seriously, do not spend money with this company. They easily provide one of the worst products on Earth. dt
  13. ^That is easily the most frightening thing I've ever heard. dt
  14. I thought this as well. While I'd love to see this ride operate again, I have my doubts. dt
  15. I don't think I've ever seen anyone iron a towel. Until now. I have learned something new today! dt
  16. ^Remember, you can just look at pictures or a drawing and completely figure out how forceful a coaster is going to be... dt
  17. As always, Robb is right. While I haven't traveled quite as much as he has, I have been out of the US a lot, and have witnessed many of the same things. Not only are US residents much more afraid of things at parks, they're more afraid of life in general. And of course, will sue if they so much as get dizzy walking outside their home. People often say a Megalite should be built in the US, and having ridden them, I can tell you that they are WAY too forceful for the average US park visitor, and the only way one will ever be built here is if it's trimmed to death and/or has the most insane restraint system ever, as people would be complaining that "the ride is trying to kill them!". Something like Insane would have lawyers para-dropping into the park 30 seconds after it started to operate. There is NO WAY a ride like that could ever be built in the US. And this isn't "anti-American" or whatever dumb label people want to put on this, just facts based on years of industry experience and traveling and observations. No wonder forceless B&M coasters are so popular... dt
  18. ^Also the drunk woman asking the other drunk woman, "what is this?" and holding up her hand in a lame attempt to make the metal horns. She clearly needs to watch a lot more Dio videos... dt
  19. ^No chunks. And the grilled cheese with gruyere makes it even better. Plus, 40 beers on tap and 100 bottles to choose from. It's one of my favorite places in Baltimore. I need to do a more detailed PTR of the place, as it's in an old bank and it's a really cool building. dt
  20. ^It's a Sapporo. At least it's not Bud Light! dt
  21. ^Yes, great show last night. Stupid drunk people in front of us needed tasering, though. dt
  22. Ice Bat & I have been away, but we did manage to visit a few restaurants last weekend! Looks like they've already had a tough night! Now with special guest, TAD! FIRE! Rice! MORE FIRE! Tasty food! Next day, 27 of us went to The Alwewife. Here's the Smokeburger - with Duck Fat Fries! Tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich for dipping! Kobe Beef Hot Dog! And then we all stopped at Poe's grave up the street. Actual park trip update coming soon! Really! I promise!
  23. ^Yes, words that should be used are "godly" or "life-changing achievement in cinema". SyFy Channel moves are awesome. To not watch this would surely bring the apocalypse about. The gods would not be pleased if we ignored something as glorious as this. Though if they filmed the Jersey Shore cast being eaten by sharks it would get the highest ratings of anything ever. dt
  24. Anyone remember that lagoon show they had at HHN? Anyone remember how terrible it was? Yeah... dt
  25. ^I get jumbo lump MD crab meat (I'm not steaming and picking the meat from the crabs - that's an all day process!). This recipe is more or less how I make them, but I put more Old Bay in, among other things. dt
