Making my first trip to Dollywood this upcoming week (probably Tuesday)

Go during the week and you should be fine.. for example this past Monday, walk on for everything!! Beautiful day to. It's to early in the season for school trips. Dollywood missed the two largest spring breaks in the area (the week before the opened).. Dollywoods local school system isn't on break until the first week in April So signs point in your favor! Now I'm just praying for good weather, but pretty much everything has to be better then Erie PA this year. We have almost hit 200 inches of snow this season.

I'm going to be "that guy" currently and ask the overall unknowable question. Would anyone be willing to hazard a guess as to how insanely busy the park is going to be next week? I have a family vacation Sunday to Saturday in Pigeon Forge (first time that we will ever be in the area, so it would be my first time at Dollywood). Hoping to get my daughter to enjoy some of the kiddy rides and ride some fun coasters myself. Sorry, I hate it when people ask this question because no one can ever really know, yet I'm still doing it.

Maybe possibly heading to Dollywood at the end of this month. I've never been there but there's a family gathering/vacation that we're taking the week before Easter in Tenn (like 15 minutes from the park). Out of curiosity how is the park for a younger kid. Trying to get my wife and 2 year old daughter to enjoy amusement parks also. Main thing I'm hoping is that Lightning Rod will be open.

Well that's not what I expected for the new trains, I was expecting something more Vekomaish. I'll be interested to hear how they are.

The ride will be called Chaos and will be located behind the train station in between the two tracks. Well ok then. I saw the name but didn't know the location, thanks. That will be interesting to have it up there. It's still strange to me how much they're developing that section of the park, but it's great to see. Thanks for the additional info

Cool thing that I saw on the ACE twitter account last night. Looks like Waldameer will be getting a Zamperla Mini Discovery 360 in 2019. It should be interesting as it may be the most thrilling flat ride there (that is all subjective though). No clue where they will fit it but they always seem to fit things in. It's nice to see additions to the dry side along with all the great additions to Water World that have been going on recently.

Wohoo, look at that dirt move. Any progress working on it is good, but I honestly don't think it's going to take all that long to put the coaster together once they actually start building it, it's not like it's a hyper coaster or anything. (Disclaimer: I say all this with no working knowledge of how difficult it is to put together a real roller coaster)

I liked Geauga Lake back in the day, but it is done... let it go... I hope people realize gofundme isn't like kickstarter (if memory serves correctly) kickstarter, I believe, returns money for unfunded projects, gofundme is a hole that people throw their money into sometimes for projects like this that will never happen.

I have no real thoughts regarding it either way. I like flumes but have no real attachment to TR. I just think most people hate change and are looking for excuses to complain.

I've had stand-up coasters that I don't mind but Vortex was terrible for me. It really is a situation where you have to go on the per-coaster basis. If it's ok for someone else that's cool, just didn't work for me.

If they could bring that theoretical thing just a tiny bit further East on I-90 to Erie (once again in theory) that would be wonderful

This has been my thought also. I also would imagine that they won't post any destruction pics of TR based on how much everyone seemed to freak out regarding it's removal.

I remember camping there back in the early days of raptor with my family (we had a pop-up camper). Eventually I didn't want to be in the camper with my family and set up my own tent whenever we went camping. I completely get that it's Cedar Point's rule, and they are entirely within their rights to do it of course, I just don't really care to stay in a hotel and don't want to get an RV, but I'm only 2 or so hours away anyway, so it really isn't a big deal overall. I suppose if not allowing tent camping is my biggest complaint about Cedar Point they're doing pretty well.

Am I the only one a bit sad that tent camping is not allowed?

I did the same thing and had the same problem (if he helps for troubleshooting at all I was using Firefox, I know some things are browser specific)

I would actually rather not list kiddie coasters as to not encourage enthusiasts behavior to go ride them. Seriously, what is even the point of listing such coasters at Cedar Point on a ballot other than giving self-entitled bragging rights that anyone outside of the coaster geekdom world would care about? This isn't a "coaster credits" list, it's a poll to determine the best coasters in the world, which two kiddies at Cedar Point are not going to be part of. I agree, there is no good reason for kiddie coasters to be on a coaster poll. I don't think that the Lady Bug kiddie coaster I rode at (insert random park here) is going to really impact a roller coaster poll (and it shouldn't)

I think as stated in the original post that not all parks and coasters will be included. To be completely fair and honest, I don't think coasters from any of those three parks would ever crack a top 30 list. Obviously you could push for Waldameer more than the other two for the quality wood coaster, but when was the last time Ravine Flyer II was even in a top 20 list? I am not sure how the parks are ordered/organized but I'm sure it made sense in the design. The only park that I was missing on this that I actually cared about was Waldameer, (Ravine Flyer is high on my list) but I understand it not being there and overall have no real complaints. It's ordered by the order that they were added. I can change it to alphabetical, which would probably make more sense. No real concern either way, I don't think it was hard to find anything especially with the search feature. Using Firefox and it was a simple process (Just so you know I'm not complaining about Waldameer, or any other park for that matter, not being there. Thanks for this poll)
