Heck Yeah Steve - if we were all the same, the world would be incredibly dull. It takes all types and flavors to make it work. My personal credo is that I don't have to understand someone to accept them. D,

Wow - it's refreshing to see civilized debate on a website. Kudos to you guys. I learned a long time ago not to let peoples thoughts / beliefs on issues like this mess with me too much. I'm gay. Always have been. Tried the straight thing in High School (I'm from Georgia...) and faked it for a while. It sucks being that dishonest with yourself and everyone else. I don't expect my straight friends to "understand" my being gay. There really isn't any way for them do do that since they aren't gay, just like I don't "understand" them. That doesn't mean that we don't accept each other as we are. Tyler - thanks for the great posts. I remember being cautious about meeting you on whichever trip that was that I met you on, thinking that the "religious" guy is going to be a pain in the butt. Boy howdy - how wrong was I? You are just TONS of fun and I'm glad to know you (even if you are a freaky, ex-religious atheist furry loving twincest dude.) D.

It does appear that TPR will be attempting Mass Suicide by taking the group to the Museum during the Middle America Trip this summer. I can't freaking wait. -

Thanks for the update. I've often heard of this, but never seen pictures - and as Elissa says - you make quite the handsome couple Looks like a good time was had by all and it is good to see a local event getting that type of crowd. Means they're doing something right. Take care David -

Wow - great pictures! You guys were all over the place. If you went to the Lady and Sons - you were less than a mile from my house! Love me some good southern fried butter! Thanks for the TR - I really enjoyed the photos, and haven't been to NYC or DC in a long time so you really took me back. D. -
1. What are your initial thoughts? Where do I sign up?? Really, I think it is a great idea. 2. Can you think of anything else we could be offering? Not at the moment. Free fanboy lessons?? 3. Is this something that interests you? Yes it is. 4. Why would you NOT be interested in this? Can't think of any reason. 5. Any additional feedback you can give us based on the information you see here. Not at the moment.

I can always feel sympathy for someone who has died unexpectedly. Well, maybe not for them personally (they're dead) but for their loved ones.

Totally! I love the rediculous story lines, because they always swing around to point to something serious. Plus - I love telling someone that they have the eyes of a "Bush Baby" and seeing the look of incomprehension on their faces. I won't call myself a Gleek though, because Gleek was the pet monkey of the Wonder Twins onthe Superfriends. I might be a dork, but I'm not a purple monkey.

Theme Park Review's "Halloween in Orlando" 2009
jynx242 replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Guys - thanks for another AWESOME Orlando Halloween! Night rides on Kumba were orgasmic, and Emily squealing/screaming had Scott, Jon and I drooling down the sides of our faces laughing. When we were at the pool party, whenever Elissa came out with Piers bellowing "SHOTS!!!" like a HHN shooter girl, it felt like we were back at Sea World. People would come swimming up to her clapping like little sea lions. It was AWESOME. Piers, as always, was Fancy, Classy and Truthful! Dave Thomas is the perfect level of evil and insane (the door rocked.) It was great seeing so many friends I've made over the last few years and meeting some new folks. Love yall... D> -
Everything at my house STOPS during Glee! Record all of the episodes so we can re-live the great spots. I'll agree with someone above that Sue's lines are AWESOME.

I haven't laughed as hard as I laughed that night. We are totaly going to hell, mind you, but it was some funny stuff. That fly-o-plane was wild, but it almost finished quite a few of us off. I know Eli, myself, Brook and Dan all left it with bruses and strange marks all over our bodies. Lake Winnie was AWESOME! They even made announcements thanking us for being there throughout the entire park during lunch. Great place. David

The Official TPR "East Coast/Behemoth Trip" Update
jynx242 replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I have changed the caption to exactly what you said. Please let me know if there are any other captions you would like changed. Just give me what the caption should be and I'll replace it. Sorry that one caption caused so much confusion. After many hours and hours of work I put into those updates and the videos, I *really* didn't think it would be that big of a deal nor would it break the story of the update. As I can see, I was wrong. In the future, I do apologize if it takes even LONGER to put up the updates as I see I now have to focus test them with a random selection people first to make sure there are no captions that are confusing or misleading and then I can have the updates go live. --Robb "Just trying to make TPR a better place for everyone!" Alvey This....Made....My....Day!! Well, actually the above quote and the AWESOME flashback to last summer with the update. I'm at my office giggling over my desk as I type. Can't freaking wait until July! David -
Great report Scooter! For those of you who had a "less than stellar" Thanksgiving - try joining us in Orlando! I'll be cooking the Turkey next year. Kerry - I'll find something really gooey to spill so you will be too busy cleaning to witness the Turkey Abuse! David

Theme Park Review's 2009 Trips Announced!
jynx242 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Eli and I will be on the Deep South trip, but not Texas. Don't need a roomie, but there will be familiar faces around. As far as the minors on the trip - I usually forgot that Jake was a minor. Hell - some of the youngest people on the trip were more responsible than the "adults." Don't worry about it - everyone there is there to have a good time. As I posted earlier - the average "age" of everyone drops to about the same level once the trip starts. David -

^ I totally agree with Canadian Jason (hot Jason.) Once you get all of us in a lineup for ERT, we turn about 14. CJ - are you going on a trip next year? As far as people being shy, or worried about meeting people - don't worry. People that I met two summers ago on the Mid-West trip get together with me for holidays at parks now. I talk to a ton of the people that I've met through TPR on the trips on a regular basis. I've made friends that I'll keep forever, and I thought I was just in for coastering! If in doubt - just sign up. You won't regret it (except that these trips are totally addictive, and you'll have to set up an ongoing budget to go on one every year.) David -

We'll be on the Deep South trip this year. Decided that we HAVE to go on a trip again (they are totally addictive and the best vacations I've EVER been on,) but will do a smaller trip in 2009 to save for an overseas trip (with TPR of course) in 2010. Hopefully - be seeing some of you next summer! David -

^ Yeah - those steel supports and the lightning and rain made for a CRAZY ride! -
^ a tiny bit off-topic, but did you ever go to The Land of Sid and Marty Croft at the top of the Omni in Atlanta? To swing back on topic, why do I seem to recall Jim Henson being involved in the creation of some of the characters in Monster Plantation? Was I just smoking my lunch, or does this ring a bell for anyone else? David

I've been going to SFoG since the 70's, and that is where my first job was. I remember them having alot of Flat Rides and slowly removing them. That has always confused me, but I'm a banker - not a park operator. I remember when the Monster Plantation was new and it was AMAZING. We still ride it every year when we visit at Easter and I'm stoked that it is getting some attention. I really wasn't expecting a coaster for a bit, and I'm glad that an attraction that I like and will ride (no kids = no Thomas Town for me) is getting a re-do. Good for Six Flags. By the way - anyone out there remember when the Monster Plantation was the Okefanokee Swamp ride?? David

I think honorable mention should be given to CJ aka Hot Jason that he was evac-ed not once, but TWICE from the Water Coater. Dude - that must be some kind of record. David "homoseximus prime" McCollum -

One PLUS thing about Wild Adventures is that it is CHEAP! I haven't been in a couple of years, but had a good time when I went. The SLC kind of beat on me (they all do,) the boomerang was a boomerang, Cheetah beat the crap out of me, but being a coaster masochist - I rode it twice more. Tons of kiddie credits. It also didn't break the bank. SFOG is my "home park" but Wild Adventures is about an hour closer. It's a meh kind of place, but I've always gone with friends and had a great time. Thanks for the trip report, I giggled quite a bit. David -
TPR's Indiana Beach Video!
jynx242 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Indiana Beach IS a cool park. It is definitely worth the trip. I wasn't expecting much, and remember referring to it as a "Redneck Riviera" when we first arrived - but it was truly one of the most fun parks we visited on the entire trip! David
