mini TR: Holiday World-Friday, June 26

^That is so true.. I hold my hands up until the tunnel before the turnaround. After that, my hands are clutched onto the grab bar and hanging on for dear life! -

I dont think the lift will be vertical. Those pieces have room for the evac system or for stairs. Fahrenheit (vertical lift) doesn't have that area next to the track for those options... See here... http://www.rcdb.com/ig4049.htm?picture=12 Also the round indentation in the track is definitely for the cable lift system similar to other coasters that had lift track like that. -

^understood but what about 5-10 years later when your ROI has been reached? So, Six Flags America cannot add a B&M invert in 2010 because of Alpengeist, a 13 year old ride? B&M is missing out on 10s of millions of dollars by that point. That new invert isnt gonna hurt the GPs perception of Alpengeist or Busch Gardens -

When I interviewed one of the B&M employees about their height limits a few years ago, he didnt say they would not do a 300 footer. He did say however that they feel comfortable with where their ride heights are now and they focus on the overall quality of the ride instead of height specifics. Whole interview is here.. http://www.rideworld.com/members/images/topics/BM/BMArticle.html What I find hard to believe that B&M would sign an exclusivity agreement essentially limiting their revenues. I cannot imagine KD going to B&M and saying "Here is 15 million dollars, build us X coaster" and B&M telling them no. -

^NICE! Is that the iPhone 3.0?? I am still thinking something similar to Maverick but taller... -
What don't you get about it? It's the most visited beach on the East coast. ^Exactly.. People go to Myrtle BEACH to sit in the sand not spend the day in an amusement park with NO WATER ATTRACTIONS! Good thinking there guys! The admission price is still WAAAY too high for what the park is offering. I think the price point is around $20-$25 IMO.

Maybe the wrong Intamin coaster was delivered to Kings Dominion? Or perhaps the parts were moved offsite so they could keep it a secret a little longer? -

I think I am assuming the wrong manufacturer.. Look at this photo of a B&M support.. http://www.rcdb.com/ig2662.htm?picture=3 Then this photo... http://www.kdfansite.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=53&pos=23 I think it might be B&M instead. Chris -

Those are definitely Intamin supports..IMO of course I am betting on a coaster that is similar to Maverick. -

Perhaps it will be a Maverick like coaster. I understand that CF was VERY happy with it. -

Let me say this.. A coaster like the Voyage exhudes some serious forces on the track and the park does a fantastic job every season on working on these "spots". As people have mentioned, there is a spot going up the 3rd hill that feels similar to riding in a car and hitting a pothole. There was also another one that was less noticeable on the return after the triple down as the coaster snakes in and out of the lift structure. Again Holiday World and the Gravity Group do a tremendous job in keeping this coaster running as best as it possibly can. If it was any other park, those one or two potholes would turn into 5, then 10, then an absolutely horrible ride like so many other wooden coasters out there that do not get the TLC they need and deserve! -

Agreed Ted... I think all three coasters are running better than they ever have. The rainstorm definitely sped them up. The two potholes on the Voyage however were definitely noticeable after the speed-up. -
Train Derails At Louisville Zoo

Holy crap. We were there on Friday afternoon before Holiwood Nights. I made a remark on how fast that train ran when we rode it. -

I think its pretty much gonna be a Red tracked B&M hyper themed to Nascar called "The Intimidator". Very huge for Carowinds... -

Those shots of the PP splashdown with the person taking photos in a restricted zone sure look like Sandor Kernacs (President of Intaride) from behind. I sure look forward to plunging myself at Holiwood Nights. Nice photos! -

I am seeing them cycle boats every few minutes so I can almost guarantee they are working on tweaking the water levels in the lagoon to improve the splashdown as much as they can before opening tomorrow. Remember guys, this park has to be concerned about the splash as much as you guys are, even moreso. Give them some time, this park cares! Chris -
No, I agree there needs to be more rides the whole family can enjoy. That is why we love Disney so much. We are able to ride most everything there as a family, even with a 19 month old! I do think some of the height requirements on alot of the smaller rides are a little bogus. For instance, there were more kids rides at SDC that she couldnt ride, even with an adult but at other parks, we were able to(flying elephants for example..no go at SDC but a go at Disney).
-
^Your kidding right?. She can practically ride every ride at Disney and she knows every character and has a blast at the parks. Do you have children? I know the general rule of thumb is to not take kids under 5 to disney because they wont remember it but the parents WILL REMEMBER and there will be plenty of photos and videos to keep as mementos. We have a blast at Disney AS A FAMILY, no matter how old Caroline is.

Quoted for truth. But the kiddie rides are cheaper, so they try to fake it. You guys obviously don't have any children. Tell that to my daughter who could ride a whopping 4 rides at Silver Dollar City last weekend. 2 if you remove the dark ride and the train. She rode that frog ride AT LEAST 10 times but was upset when she couldn't ride anything else. However, she is only 19 months old and only 31 inches tall but is a daredevil like her mom and dad!
