  1. I totally forgot about Christmas Town! I don't know if I'll get out there in time to catch it this year, so thank you for sharing some photos!
  2. I'd be interested to see just how insane crowds get for Hollywood. Hogsmeade has been open for over five years here in Florida, so I wonder how much of their potential audience already has gone to Islands of Adventure to experience it.
  3. Tonight Theme Park Review was invited to experience "How The Grinch Stole Christmas: The Musical" at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts. The new (year old) venue hosts world class entertainment throughout the year including traveling Broadway shows and more. Fans of Dr. Seuss' stories, enthusiasts of the classic animated feature, viewers of the live action Jim Carrey-starring film and even the annual Universal Studios' Grinchmas visitors will all enjoy this familiar but unique take on the timeless story. The Grinch shines as the star's main lead (as he should) and the young Cindy Loo-Who charms as well with an extraordinary voice an a great on-stage relationship with the title character. The audience particularly loved the occasional breaking of the fourth wall--the cast never hesitates to talk directly to the audience without a subtle wink. A great surprise along the same lines was the inclusion of a sing along to the tune of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch, which had no problem assuming that everyone in the audience knew the words. The soundtrack for the show relies almost entirely on new content rather than drawing from the existing songs of previous adaptations, which allows for even the most well-versed Grinch fan to be pleasantly surprised when they see the show. This show has great heart, a holiday message, fantastic music and hilarious audience interaction that when added together makes for an unforgettable experience worth seeing! With a resident Grinch-fan at my side, the show received positive marks from her as well! How The Grinch Stole Christmas: The Musical continues its run at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts through Sunday, December 13th, 2015 so grab your tickets and check out the show as soon as possible! Time for the show to begin! The even have signature drinks for the show! I love this place! And a themed drink for the kids... The Walt Disney Theater is a beautiful addition to the City of Orlando and something for locals to be very proud of! Tonight we visited the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts to see Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! I love that it was served with a candy cane inside! Recognizable scenes from the story are brought to life on stage with great musical numbers! Brooke Lynn Boyd and Stefan Karl. Photo by: PAPARAZZIBYAPPOINTMENT.COM The look of The Grinch is familiar but not exactly what you'd expect if you've seen the movie or Grinchmas at Universal. Stefan Karl as The rinch. Photo by: PAPARAZZIBYAPPOINTMENT.COM One unique element of the show is the use of an older Max the Dog as the narrator of the story. Bob Lauder as Old Max. Photo by: PAPARAZZIBYAPPOINTMENT.COM More familiar is the inclusion of a younger Max the Dog, who has a voice in the show. Stefan Karl as The rinch with Seth Bazacas as Young Max. Photo by: PAPARAZZIBYAPPOINTMENT.COM The show features a unique staging featuring the familiar visual styles of Dr. Seuss' illustrated stories it addeds depth to the set pieces using 3-D and protection-effects. The show really is fantastic and a must-see for any fans of the classic short story, the animated feature or the live action film. It runs through Sunday, December 13th, 2015 so get out to the Dr. Philips Center for Performing Arts and enjoy! Grinch 2010 Company. Photo by: PAPARAZZIBYAPPOINTMENT.COM
  4. That looks like a nicely themed Rockin' Tug. I'm never disappointed with the level of effort Europa Park goes through to theme a new ride.
  5. That is one heck of a twisty Intamin layout! I can't wait to see a POV of the completed project, theming and all!
  6. With a drop like that the spinning cars like they tested on Blue Fire would be amazing! That being said, I'm going to place my bets on a Mack wingrider.
  7. While it doesn't make up for the loss of Eagle's Fortress, a resort hotel at Everland makes total sense... And this one happens to look really nice!
  8. Am I the only one that finds it strange that for one of the area's newest parks, it looks like it has been around for decades based on the ride lineup and the look and feel of the park?
  9. I would be curious to see if this Ferrari Land project was designed with future expansion in mind to expand this mini-park's berm if successful. I really wonder why they didn't just integrate it into PortAventura itself as opposed to making it an extra-ticket park/experience. It looks to be beautifully designed, but from a ticketing standpoint, I wonder whether the cost for admission will be different for the two gates or if they will be valued at the same admission price.
  10. I am beyond thrilled that not only was the project approved but unanimously supported by the county. I watched 35 of the 50 testimonies for and against (mostly for) Skyplex and it was incredible just how much support was shown for the project. It actually looks like Universal's anti-Skyplex mailers played a part in residents siding with Skyplex. I look forward to seeing this icon grown on the Orlando skyline and I am even more excited about the precedent this sets for world-class stand-alone developments like Skyplex coming to Orlando. We don't have to be Vegas to appeal to tourists, but we can have massive icons on our horizon without it looking out of place. This is the future of Orlando!
  11. The shame is, it is behavior like this that has forced other parks to install more restrictive lap restraints in their log flume ride vehicles... I wouldn't be surprised if this triggers other parks with similar installations to begin considering more stringent safety options for their rides.
  12. I look forward to seeing how this dive machine compares to others... I still believe that there's no comparable B&M airtime like dive machine airtime, so I would certainly give it a priority visit if/when I ever get to Cedar Point.
  13. That tilt track looks incredible! I'd imagine that's what the one in Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts looks like underneath all of the theming and darkness.
  14. While new rides are always a plus, I find it absolutely respectable that the park is taking the time and money to invest in their existing attractions with new trains, new paint and ride refurbishments. That's a gift not all regional parks are lucky enough to get.
  15. Yesterday SeaWorld Orlando hosted Theme Park Review for a media preview of the first night of their annual SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration event. Returning this year were the popular Winter Wonderland on Ice and O Wondrous Night shows, along with The Polar Express overlay for the Wild Arctic simulator ride. The park has been fully dressed in holiday lights and decor, and pop-up entertainment offerings help to change the park's normal atmosphere to fit the spirit of the season. The Christmas Village has also returned to offer a great corridor for holiday food and beverages for guests to enjoy during their holiday visit. SeaWorld continues to do an incredible job in making the holiday season their own, and this year's event once again exemplifies the calibre of entertainment and decor that SeaWorld has long been known for many years. Next year will see the introduction of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and the affiliated characters from the classic stop-motion animation TV special throughout SeaWorld Parks & Resort parks, so it can be expected that next year's Christmas Celebration will feature this property in unique ways... But with so many great things to enjoy this year, there's a lot to look forward to with this added property in SeaWorld's arsenal! SeaWorld welcomed us with an animal ambassador... Over at The Polar Express, we were entertained by the Conductors, singing a cappella renditions of classic holiday songs. The Polar Express is a wonderful overlay of the Wild Arctic simulator and a great overview of the film, both for fans and first-timers. The entire Wild Arctic queue and loading station experience is updated to immerse guests in the story of The Polar Express. This way to the North Pole! Base Station Wild Arctic looks very different... Guests exit The Polar Express in Santa Town, and fortunately its most famous resident is present to meet guests in person! Throughout the park, wonderful holiday lighting has been added to give the park a special nighttime glow. Looks so nice! Shamu's Happy Harbor has been given unique holiday lighting for the Christmas Celebration. The newest addition to SeaWorld Orlando, Mama's Pretzel Kitchen has received some holiday lighting as well... The park really looks incredible when lit up at night. Construction for Mako brings with it some walled off areas near Shark Encounter, but SeaWorld has even dressed up these walls with lighting to keep up the holiday spirit! The Mako brake run is the first segment of the ride to go vertical... The Sea of Trees in the SeaWorld Orlando harbor is incredible! Winter Wonderland on Ice is an incredible ice skating show set to the tune of classic holiday music. The experience is top notch! Seems to be very similar to Knoebels' Traveling Taco... These skillets look incredible! The Christmas Village features a miniature town complete with working trains! Shame Christmas Miracles is a unique holiday twist on the classic Shamu show. These behaviors never cease to amaze! This show is definitely worth watching! Nothing says "Happy Holidays" like a unique pretzel from Mama's Pretzel Kitchen. The Waterfront experiences period snow flurries throughout the evening... Incredible movements by the killer whales... Incredible!
  16. Glad to see this park isn't going to be the next Freestyle Music Park. Hopefully this seasons boasts better results so that they don't have to worry about a more grim fate in 2017.
  17. The water park with the Wiegand slides and the ski jumps into the pool looks incredible!

  22. This should be a unique take on an otherwise classic flat ride... I'm sure it'll be lit up beautifully at night given its host park.
  23. ^Wiegand slides are beauties! That would be such a great addition to what is already an incredible ship in the making!
  24. That is one gorgeous looking coaster! I can only imagine how those wing rider trains will fly through that non-inverting loop!
