  1. I was petrified of all moving rides when I was younger (even Horizons scared me at one point). Slowly, I pushed myself to ride new rides, getting a better feel for the thrill. My first real coaster was Thunder Mountain, followed by Space Mountain. After I grew comfortable with those Disney coasters, my brother felt I was ready for Kraken, forcing me to ride. Much to my surprise I loved it, and that event stemmed my passion for theme parks, coasters and the industry itself. I look back on the whole story and realize that without my brother, I wouldn't be preparing to study in the field of Hospitality Management for theme park management.
  2. ^It also showed up as the same site for me. I'm glad that they took the survey responses about marketing tactics to heart with blog concept, but I think they are doing it far too little, too late. The blog has only two entries, neither of which really say much about the ride, and neither of which show photos of the ride itself. The "Construction Blog" shows no construction.
  3. ^Needless to say, I'd be riding Rip, Ride, Rockit daily if that were the case!
  4. ^^I don't know if it is just my tired eyes, but having watched that same video earlier today, I think the quality is less now than that of what I watched before. There are more visible pixels and a little bit less of a smooth frame rate. I downloaded the video earlier using the iPod conversion option, and I could have sworn that the video looked far better (on par with the Kawasemi video). Then again, it may just be my eyes.
  5. ^^^Let me just say that the banner looks fantastic!
  6. ^Then I guess you'll just have to settle with the Bryan and Adam Show... Or this could become the Adam-less Bryan Show!
  7. Let me contribute to the demands here... I demand that you either put the title of the show back to the Bryan and Adam Show, or you can choose from the following options: 1. Title it the Adam and Bryan Show 2. Title it the Bryan-less Adam Show 3. Title it the Bryan meets Cokesuber Show 4. Title it the Cokesuber Show 5. Title it the Bryan-should-have-tried-out-for-American-Idol-but-decided-to-waste-his-time-changing-the-show's-name and the artist formerly known as Adam, now Cokesuber Show. 6. Audition for American Idol and fix the title of the thread... I have fifty percent creative share in this show, so I would hope my demand will be fulfilled quickly...
  8. ^I wish I could have seen that! It was funny enough seeing Robb offer everyone churros and having my joke come read and identified from a person (I forget what we named him) living in Intamin, Florida.
  9. ^Let me just complement you on your amazing celebration dance. That easily trumps that sad dance that Bryan and I did for our run of the game... Maybe its the dance that made it easier for me to do well when playing this game...
  10. Since Bryan neglected to do so, let me fill you in on the story of our American Idol Experience. Back when we were with Robb and Elissa last week, Elissa made a demand that Bryan audition for the American Idol Experience. He was a little leery to say the least, so to offer a little encouragement, I offered to audition as well. So, we decided to go to the Studios on Wednesday after we had gotten out of our classes. In going there we had every intention to audition for the show, even stumbling around the park in an awkward fashion to find out where and when to audition for the show. After figuring out where we needed to go, an Idol cast member informed us that auditions ended on that day at 2:00 pm--we got to the attraction at 4:00 pm. The resulting trip report is a continuation of this story, as we wanted to at least see the show during the visit. Since the demand has yet to be fulfilled, I think its safe to assume that the Bryan and Adam Show will return to Hollywood Studios in the near future. I'll pull some strings if I have to in order to make sure this special demand is met! Thanks again to everyone for the comments, ~Cokesuber~
  11. Here is the latest update regarding the restructing of Walt Disney World's management operations... http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/business_tourism_aviation/2009/02/walt-disney-world-announces-new-executive-assignments.html
  12. ^I doubt the park will ever reopen--and if it were by any chance to ever get a reprieve, I can't believe that it would be under the Six Flags banner. In my mind, Six Flags New Orleans was lost in 2005. What is left is a graveyard of sorts... As for SFA#1fan, the spelling and grammatical similarities in Danny's release are definitely present. Mind you, Danny's release was bad from the beginning and SFA's writing typically deteriorates as you read further. If anything, I believe Danny was giving him spelling and grammar lessons, because his release is not nearly as bad.
  13. Didn't you hear? His second in command and head of public relations was really SFA#1fan... In all seriousness, I couldn't really picture Six Flags New Orleans coming back in any form. I would rather see the park be stripped of its more valuable assets (like has already started) so that the rest of the parks under Six Flags' control can get a little something extra for next season. I'm sure that there are at least a few more attractions remaining at the former park that could be repaired and shipped to the more desperate parks.
  14. The image on the left is a piece of promotional art from Sheikra at Busch Gardens Africa... The coaster track itself (while depicted differently) is by B&M and the trains (while depicted differently) are 8 wide.
  15. Best New Ride: Behemoth Best Epic Fail: The Dark Knight Coaster (Six Flags Great Adventure) Best Spin: Whirlwind (Seabreeze) Best Name: Boulder Dash Best Class Act: Lake Compounce
  16. Let me start by saying that my original entry was extremely rushed as I was working on it in the short span of one class period, but after coming home, I spent a few hours toying with Gimp (now that I finally know how to use it), and the end result is seen below in my official entry. I've left the original for comparison's sake, but the final product is done. Hard Rock America: Original Entry Welcome to the real Six Flags Hard Rock America: Official Entry.
  17. This news made its way over to Screamscape today... Should I act like this is surprising? I doubt SFA is a priority for the company right now, and with money being the way it is, I assume that this will be one of the last parks to receive a major addition anytime soon (and I don't consider a speed slide to be major).
  18. Does anyone else see this as the next Southern Star Amusement Group-style attempt to revive a dead park? I really am hopeful that the park gets a second chance so I can at least visit once, but I seriously doubt that these investors know what exactly they're getting themselves into. I can't imagine the park ever holding a successful footing in Myrtle Beach... Now if these investors were to announce that the park would be relocated to Orlando, I could see the place having a chance, but not in Myrtle Beach.
  19. ^^I believe that you, Brent and I determined the park's new name to be Six Flags under Foreclosure back during the Summer, but I truly do believe that with the park's strong management team and a decent load of captial investments, the park has the potential to become a mild success. Though, the road to success isn't paved on speed slides, fanboy trolls and a barrel of hope--the park needs a little more support to survive... Maybe this sounds a little farfetched, but the Clawshun Industries promotion that is going on with Six Flags New England's Superman and Six Flags Great Adventure's Medusa could easily be extended to the park for a new or updated attraction. Just a thought.
  20. I really have been hoping someone got photos of Max and I's Water Battle at Busch Gardens Europe... Did you by any chance grab those Brent? Anyways, I've enjoyed all of your updates so far and I've been cracking up constantly over the captions as well. I guess this is my "Brent's funny caption" fix now that you aren't on the West Coast trip, and you aren't doing Coaster of the Week. I guess it just means you'll be seeing me on this thread more often!
  21. Surprisingly enough, I ended up getting a winning email after all. It just didn't make its way to me until this morning. I'm definitely excited about the promotion to say the least, though as a Passholder, it will be interesting to see what I can do with the ticket.
  22. I haven't gotten any email yet saying if I won... Maybe its a sign.
  23. I find it absolutely hilarious that you didn't read my multi-paragraph response, and yet you lambaste another well known user for replying as simply (though in a more eye-friendly form) as you do every time. Can someone say you ignore all that you disagree with? Plus, you can just say the announcement is not going to be huge, considering the paperwork states that it is merely another speed slide. Maybe you've become so conditioned to accept mediocre attractions/additions (and again, I'm looking at this based on my experience at the park) that this is just the greatest thing you've seen the park get, but I find that pretty hard to believe, if not a little pathetic. Six Flags America may have potential, but minor additions like a speed slide (regardless of how tall, fast or large it is) can't make this park turn around. Whether or not you give the park's lamp posts a devoted spit shine when you visit doesn't make a difference either--your adament fanhood won't make something small become big. I figure you'll learn eventually that just because you want something to be something its not, won't make it so. I would love for Seaworld Orlando's Journey to Atlantis to be an Intamin Aquatrax, but it doesn't work that way. I'm sure Hard Rock Park and Cypress Gardens' management teams wanted more than anything for their parks to succeed, but it just wasn't so--and there is nothing they could change about it. You can't make a speed slide become a gatebuster attraction (at least not that I could possibly imagine), especially for a park whose main concerns and issues lay attached to the amusement park section and not the waterpark. If you figure out a way to magically change things, please let me know, because I really would love it if Journey to Atlantis could become an Aquatrax coaster. While you're at it, could you also figure out how to change your posting style? Thanks. For once I can finally agree with you... You aren't talking. You aren't yelling. You're ignoring the rules of grammar and of spelling (I'm so proud that I was able to borrow part of MrMorgan's Spain Trip poem). You can't back up your arguements. You can't spell. You can't state the truth without knowing the real truth. Please notice that none of your posts on this thread have been without error in spelling or grammar. The use of nonexistant words like "coulda," "aint," "im," and "azz" are completely wrong, and are a nuisance to read. Your posts are a headache to all who have to interpret them, and the people that have actually taken the time to respond politely and intelligently have been shot down by your blatently offensive attacks because you don't like their answers. Trying to read your posts has been like reading phonetics with shards of glass in my eyes--a true pain. As I said before, if you aren't willing to accept others' opinions, or at least respect them, then I recommend that you go find another forum where all of the fanboys can go frolick in grammarless fields of pointlessness. You really need to read this thread, because you misrepresent all other TPR members within your age range. I think that the members (and mods) have been more than fair with you on this thread, and yet you continue to yell, bash, scream and go on the offensive without just cause.
  24. NEWS: Universal cutting hours at some attractions http://www.wesh.com/money/18642454/detail.html Certainly not the best of news, but the chance of a reopening later this year is somewhat promising. While Fear Factor isn't my favorite show (T2:3D is, in my opinion, the best the park offers), it is a shame that some guests won't get to experience it for the next few months...
  25. I enjoyed both rides, but definitely found myself more attached to Heaven's Flight. Both were well made, with great layouts and good transitions, so for ride design itself I commend you! Let me just say that you definitely had me in terms of music with Heaven's Flight. The Time Machine's soundtrack is one of my favorites in my collection, and that single track is only trumped in my mind by Eloi. You made the music work for your video, so you have my vote for editing as well.
