  1. IMO, If SoB wasn't rough it would be a *decent* woodie, but I still don't think it would be close to being great. There isn't really airtime on this ride and the bottom of the helix is the only place where there's some real intensity that is more than just violent shaking. The speed of the ride is great, but I'd rather take a slower coaster with more forces and intensity. Rides go down all the time, it's pretty common. Did I miss something here? Is this confirmed to be closed for the entire season?
  2. I have a great idea: lets speculate on a topic that should be in the rumor thread while arguing with an irrational KI fanboy. Sounds like a blast. And yes, I've been to Kings Island more than once and I think SoB is a pretty terrible coaster.
  3. It's not that hard to eat cheap and still remain with food that isn't fried or terrible for you. Pasta is dirt cheap and with some jars of sauce laying around you can make one box into a few different meals. Simple things like PB&J sandwiches are also an easy way to stay away from fast food while living on a budget. I also tend to eat vegetarian a lot of the time just because it's cheaper to not buy meat at the grocery store. I'm going on the TPR Texas trip this summer as well as already taking a KI/Holiday World trip and planning an upcoming Freestyle Music Park trip. I pay for my tuition and my food and I'm a full time student. It's hard, but with some discipline you can usually make it work.
  4. I love TSH, I haven't listened to their stuff in forever though!
  5. Last night I went and saw Manchester Orchestra w/ fun at The Social in Orlando. It was the final show of their 7 week tour together, so they really went all out. This is the third time I've seen Manchester Orchestra live and the first time I've seen fun. For those of you familiar with The Format, they broke up a year ago and "fun" is the lead singer's new band. No worries, they still played some Format stuff at the show. Manchester Orchestra. They put on an insane show. "fun".... headed up by Nate Ruess (formerly of The Format). They played some new stuff as well as some Format "covers" This was an insane random jam session with all three of the opening bands. It was the final show of the tour so all of the bands just started jamming out together as a sort of farewell treat. It was sick.
  6. I love Lake Winnie! The Boat Chute and the Fly-o-Planes are two awesomely unique rides. The Cannonball is a pretty solid coaster as well. What a great little park!
  7. "Hi Bryan and Adam show" Thanks for the shout-out, although I already considered the Great Movie Ride pics earlier in the update as a shout-out to me. I was really excited to see the Disney nerd cupcakes, I had intentionally not looked at any spoiler photos of them so that the Bryan and Adam finale would be that much more explosive.
  8. I'm sorry but I really disagree with your evaluation of these parks. I'm a passholder at both WDW and Universal, I really go to these parks all the time. The theme of the Dino area at AK is crap. They literally took an area of a beautiful park and threw in a bunch of cheap rides and made it look like tacky crap. There's no way that's more of a "theme park" than IOA. The only thing IOA is guilty of is having two exposed rides, but both Hulk and the Dragons have a theme and story. Disney built a POS carnival and you consider that great theming? IOA is one of the best themed parks in the country. I think you should actually visit the park before you label it.
  9. On Saturday night I went to see Alkaline Trio with Saves the Day. It was a really good show, both bands played really well. Last time I saw Alkaline Trio they sort of just played a 'meh' set, but they were a lot more into it this time and I really enjoyed them. It was at the HoB Orlando at Downtown Disney, they're really strict on not letting cameras in so sorry I don't have any photos.
  10. ^ I was there Wednesday, when we got to the ride they were running both stations and it was pretty much a walk-on. After a while of the ride being pretty dead they closed one station and went down to two-train operation and the line went back to right past the fresh water aquarium.
  11. Awesome photos dude! Can't wait to see the rest.
  12. Freestyle Music Hamster.
  13. Well I think it's reasonable to slow down the car that much, the turns are so tight that it really does need to be braked. The problem IMO is how much time the car sits on the brakes. It needs to be slowed down, but it doesn't need to stay slow for so long.
  14. ^Thanks for posting that. I hate to say it, but the ride isn't nearly as cool as I thought it'd be. All of that braking just killed any sort of pacing and the cars don't seem to rotate all that much. IMO the car spent way too much time on that middle brake. It's still a unique little ride for a small park, but it just seems too stop-and-go for a ride named "Insane". Maybe it's just like this temporarily.
  15. Bryan, if you're not careful you're going to start losing fanboys. Also, next time you go to the Studios make sure you go on the Great Movie Ride for me, I demand a picture of our favorite gangster. Rock on Bryan and Adam.
  16. This update rocks!!! Although someone still hasn't tried out for Idol...
  17. I went to Wild Adventures last Easter. I was living in South Carolina at the time and I spent Easter weekend at my parent's place down in Florida and I stopped to whore my credits on the drive back up. The park was deserted. I don't know if you'd count this as a holiday, but I did Universal on Superbowl Sunday. I'm an NCAA fan, the NFL doesn't really do anything for me...
  18. ^Yeah, the track isn't complete at this point, so they still need to finish construction before they can even do a pull-through or start testing. Work has sort of stalled on the lift hill, there has been speculation about the extent of the delays but nothing has been confirmed by Universal so nobody really knows for sure when this thing is going to get finished. Look for maybe a June opening, although that's just a guess.
  19. Scott, thank you for making this thread awesome. -Andrew
  20. Tonight I went and saw my favorite hometown band (Sorry LTJ, Sister Hazel, and Tom Petty). Sold out show at a small venue in downtown Gainesville Rock City. I usually post better pics in here, but unfortunately I left my camera at home and had to use my cell phone Against Me! Another one from the cell... Against Me! at Common Grounds, Gainesville Rock City, FL

  22. 1939- Amidst the glitz and the glitter of a bustling movie town at the height of its golden age The Hollywood Tower Hotel was a star in its own right, a beacon for the show-business elite. Now, something is about to happen that will change all that...
  23. It's a lazy river, the entire attraction is going to have to be under surveillance by lifeguards. Part of a lifeguard's responsibilities is to enforce their facility's rules, so yeah...
  24. Here's the thing man, you originally posted saying that you wanted to share your religious views. I immediately decided not to post in response to your views because 1) I don't want to debate or disrespect someone's religious views and 2) I'm not 21, so this is kind of a mute point for me. However, you're not even talking about religion, you're talking about faulty logic. Burying your head in the sand and claiming that it's religion just makes this whole argument seem ridiculous, especially when you're not even really talking about religion! So is your argument against getting drunk now? The giant letters that read "alcohol" in your first post lead me to believe you're talking about alcohol.
