  1. Granted, but you'll be up all night the following night. I wish I had the money to go to Cedar Point.
  2. My mom remembers Busch Gardens Van Nuys. They had a bunch of exotic birds, and some of them escaped when the park closed forever. They reproduced and thrived here in the San Fernando Valley. Occasionally, I still see wild parakeets flying around.
  3. SFMM is on my way home from work. Sometimes I'll stop there for a few hours before heading home. (Such is life when you're not married.) Like somebody said above, it's not necessarily more fun to go by myself, but it's definitely a different experience. I get to decide what to ride, when to go eat, when to leave, etc. But the rides are definitely more fun when riding with family / friends.
  4. No. Are you going to Coaster Mania?
  5. Last Friday. (It was a company errand.) When was the last time you flew on a plane?
  6. Whenever the last rain storm was. When was the last time you ate pizza?
  7. Tell me why I'm wrong... (Keep in mind I'm on board with many of the things you mention, I love the park and hate seeing the delapedated state the company has let it become in many ways.)
  8. Granted, but they serve real dog meat. I wish I could visit Texas.
  9. ^ The only people who don't like X2 are either (1) scared of it, or (2) limp-wristed snobs who can't handle any kind of roughness. The outside seats can deliver some headbanging toward the end of the ride, but the 7th row will give you the best ride in the park.
  10. Wood Coaster Developments Ltd. posted pictures on their Facebook page this morning of the Apocalypse retrack. They just started this week.
  11. Viper @ SFMM If you're short, this ride can deliver some headbanging, but if you're tall like me, you won't notice it. The back seat delivers a fast, smooth, and thrilling ride. Scream @ SFMM I didn't really like this coaster until I tried the front row recently. Since it's a floorless coaster, the train doesn't have a nose, so there is nothing in front of you. It was fast, smooth, and a lot of fun! I found the middle rows boring and somewhat rough.
  12. Granted, but Godzilla arrives first and destroys DisneySea. I wish I could visit Darien Lake.
  13. whats a good day/week for this???? Spring breaks for the local schools are in late March/early April, so mid-week, late April is a safe bet for no crowds. Indeed. If you really don't like SFMM, feel free to stay home so the park will be less crowded for those of us who do enjoy it. Those other parks you speak of: (1) are closed during the winter. They don't have to spend money on operating the park during their off-seasons, and are able to devote more revenue to maintenance. Since their rides are only operated half the year, there is not nearly as much wear and tear as there is at a year-round park like SFMM. (2) typically have 10 or fewer roller coasters (with the exception of Cedar Point). These parks focus more on flat rides, which are easier and cheaper to maintain than roller coasters. Yes, SFMM's maintenance department leaves a lot to be desired, but there is plenty about SFMM that makes it enjoyable. With its 3 coasters that are currently closed, they still have more coasters open (excluding the kiddie coasters) than most other parks have to begin with.
  14. 8/10 Kirkland silver tequila
  15. To make it worse, your battery is dead and you miss an important phone call. You visit a new theme park.
  16. The new VR debuted last weekend. AFAIK, it will be on for the rest of the year. I went on Sunday, but didn't feel like waiting in the long line. I'll wait until spring, when they're open every day, but everyone is still in school.
  17. A few hours ago. When was the last time you had a margarita?
