  1. Woops, accidentily pressed quote instead of edit! Anyway, I found this topic on page 75 whilst i was rooting earlier today!
  2. Im going to Pleasurewood Hills this Saturday 1st April 2006, just a little park but it's one of the parks you'll be visiting on the UK trip in June, if I remember to take my camara I'll do a little Photo Trip Report! I might even get a POV of Enigma, Schwarzkopf's one off coaster! www.pleasurewood.com A big mess of twisted track
  3. WOW You have built a coaster that rests on the track and has bunny hops (WTF?) and if you go to fast, you fall off the track, and if that hasn't killed you thers a set of stocks to finish you off! I hear Vekoma are interested in your design!
  4. I know it's only a shop in Main St but I think it's unbelievable, the lenght's that DLP goes to make you stay as great as possible is unreal, the shop only had some scaffolding infront of it, so they do this: http://www.dlp.info/Guide/images/News/Disneyland/Mainstreet/Shops/Emporium/Scaffolding-Replica02j.jpg http://www.dlp.info/Guide/images/News/Disneyland/Mainstreet/Shops/Emporium/Scaffolding-Replica01j.jpg http://www.dlp.info/Guide/images/News/Disneyland/Mainstreet/Shops/Emporium/Scaffolding-Replica03j.jpg Just think, they went through all that effort to make it, when it's just to cover up work thats been done to improve a shop!
  5. ^WOW an Intamin drop ride on the side of the tower that is 175metres tall (approx 500-600ft) I think the intensity of it would blow my head! I reckon they should have one of them Sky coasters over the edge of it, like on Blackpools South Pier they have over the edge of that! THAT WOULD BE SCARY
  6. so Nemesis' last inversion, the ground hugging corkscrew thats very hard to notice and is unbelievebly close to the ground is boring? And how do you mean, Nemesis' beggining is "original", is that different original or common original, because just off the top of my head, Nemesis and Alpengiest are the only B&M Inverters that don't start with a drop, loop then zero G roll!
  7. Well from the video I can only see the 1st drop, loop, zero g roll, over banked turn and 2 corkscrews, I can't see any helices or other banked turns! Who's argueing about the sound? Not me, I just said it doesn't have that roar that other B&M Inverters have! IMO that's not argueing!
  8. Seems pretty short, unless theres more to it than the video shows, drop, loop, zero g roll, turnaround, double corkscrew It doesn't look thats fast either, I'm not slating it, it's just so many people are raving on about this coaster saying it's better than Nemesis, but it doesn't LOOK better IMO And it doesn't have that roar that most B&M Inverters have!
  9. I've been allowed to take my video camara on every ride their, even Space Mountain and Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, they even let you go to the front seat, the staff at DLP are so friendly
  10. Actually, I suppose the rides at Disneyland Paris aren't your normal Vekoma as they were designed by Vekoma & Disney Imagineering!
  11. Your telling me you live in Holland and you've never been to Disneyland Paris? They have 3 quality Vekoma's, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain & Rock 'N' Rollercoaster, 3 world class rides!!
  12. What about the Giant Inverted Boomerang? Are they as rough as standard Vekoma's? WWW.RCDB.COM Giant Inverted Boomerang
  13. Yes that does look like good fun! I must admit that Zamperla Launched Motorbike coaster looks crud
  14. Hey, I should be in that picture,I was right at the front, if you had moved a wee bit to the left I would be in it,, I was surprised how quick Stealth opened on Sunday I didn't run to Stealth, I jogged, and it was worth it! By any chance were you wearing a yellow jacket?
  15. I went on Sunday, 2 trains we running, the park say they want 2 trains running every day, that why they have 3 trains, just incase theres a problem! DON'T BE FOOLED IF THERES A LONG QUEUE, it goes down very quickly! The staff that work on Stealth are brilliant, they really try to get the queue down as quick as possible! One thing I'm still confused with is Stealth's VERY futuristic logo in a 1950's themed area!! They kind of made the same mistake with Air, being put in the Forbidden Valley!
  16. Seriously, if Vekoma can improve the smoothness of their rides this suspended launched looping coaster could be a massive hit, especially with little parks, if you use the link to that website you can also see the trains to this coaster and the restraints look very small compared to SLC's, so thats a good sign, I really hope they do this ride!
  17. Right before you say anything, I know it's in German but there are lots of pics for you to get the idea of whats to come, including: - A Zamperla Launched Motorbike coaster - Vekoma Design 3 new launched coaster (Including a suspended looping launched coaster ) - Gerstlauer Launched coasters - Some crazy River Rapids - And it looks like Mack Rides have designed a suspened powered coaster plus Spinning powered coaster(looks alot like Maurer Söhne spinning cars) - Maurer Söhne launched X-car coaster - and lastly some Splash Party coaster - also lots of new about all the new for 2006 rides(Stealth, Speed etc) And lastly, I've saved the best till last, is a Crazy Ball coaster(picture below), this is obviously just a prototype, but it's very crazy, it's like a Fabbri Booster car on wheels!! Heres the link: http://www.coastersandmore.de/rides/eas06/eas06_1.php CRAZY BALL COASTER Vekoma's Suspened launched looping coaster!!
  18. ^ Thats fair enough abot Tidal Wave, I don't think it's just closed because of the tempreture, I think they are still in the middle of plastering it with Original Source advertising, which just looks silly! How on earth were they aloud a "one off", I've never heard of that before, if you have a height restriction, you have it and theres nout you can do about it, and I've heard they don't have a height resriction. Thats sucks if it's true, why on earth do they have one? It's on an island with not much around it apart from a motorway and some water sports place, so why would people moan, so in othre words, the Big One at Blackpool is going to be the only Hypercoaster Britain will ever have!
  19. Well I have to start this by expressing my dissapointment at the following rides not being in operation to day at Thorpe Park: Tidal Wave Slammer Rush (I really wanted to go on this, really badly ) Detonator X:/No Way Out (don't really care much about this ride) Samurai Depth Charge But I think alot of this was made better by the way everything was handled about Stealth, well when the park gates opened I was quite far back in the Annual Pass queue, but as I jogged nearly all the way to Stealth there was only about 20 people in front of me(well worth the little jog), and by 9:40 it was open without any fuss or breakdowns it opened straight away(shame I can't say the same for Rita), about half the people in fron of me went to the front row queue, so I joined them, well worth the extra little wait! Alltogether that day I got to ride Stealth 4 times, twice at the front which made me happy, brilliant at the front apart from no airtime on the airtime hill, but there was some in the back row! If Stealth has a long queue don't be fooled, it goes down very quickly, mainly due to the ride staff and how they go about loading and unloading, well we joined the queue when it was at the 30minute post and we were only queuing for about 20 minutes!!!! Another down side to the day was that Colossus was only running one train, so we never queued for it properly(single rider), as you will hear from the video of Colossus i have, it's rattling very badly, especially going through the Cobra Roll, even worse when your sitting at the back, it's not rough, it just rattles like mad and sounds horrible, it's still a beast of a coaster though! As you will see in the pics, the weather was gorgeous to day, not a cloud in the sky all day, so we thought we would bare the water rides, well Loggers Leap and River Rapids, Loggers Leap gave me a nice refreshing spay in the face(of water), even though I'm pretty sure the log we were in had a wee hole as it was filling up with water(soaking my socks ). I thought that in the cold weather(alright it wasn't that cold) they turn all the water features(that soak you) off, ie the taps and hoses that soak you on the rapids, but today they weren't, also what on earth goes on in that tunnel on the rapids? All I know is I went in there dry and came out absolutely soaked! Even though I got a soaking, the rapids here are way too short. I suppose in a way I've kind of saved the kind of best to last, in Nemesis Inferno, such a cool ride, thats the only way to descripe it, it's just cool, I love it so much, even thought the themeing in that tunnel is horrific, it's just a cool ride, but the worst thing they done with it is it's name, not only does it begin with Nemesis but it even has the same Nemesis Logo, and due to this it is immediatly compared with the original Nemesis, if they had just called it Inferno this would never happen, it's just such a cool ride! And basically thats all we done all day, well there weren't many flat rides to go on, apart from Zodiac and Quantum but thats just a waste of time, such a great day out though, sun shining all day long and the ride with the least down time.....................STEALTH! Also, Mr Monkey's Banana Boat: coolest themed pirate ship EVER!!(sorry but no photo) Thorpe Park should now consider replacing the Detonator with a real drop tower (Intamin) wink wink, well I don't mean thats as a bad word against the Detonator, it's just the Intamin drop towers are much bigger and better, and travelling rides don't suit Thorpe Park! Very cool launch, just a shame the ride is sooo short! Well short but sweet. IMO this rides works the same way that Oblivion works, fast, short and very exhilarating! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....Also very futuristic looking trains, also not fitting in very well with the 1950's rock 'n' roll era. Hehe! Am I the only person that thinks Stealth very futuristic logo is not fitting in with the 1950's rock 'n' roll era? Stealth going 80-0 in 2 seconds Stealth and oh another ride that wasn't open! Another cool 'postcard shot' of the cool Nemesis Inferno, and the Detonator which was not exploding today End of the day and clouds were appearing Very Cool 'postcard shot' of Colossus Nemesis Inferno.zip stealth_3_135.zip stealth_2_195.zip stealth_210.zip
  20. How do you mean you would disagree? Do you think they are coasters or not? Do you class the Half Pipe as a coaster? Your edit beat me to it! So you think the first two links are coasters, really? How on earth can they be classed as coasters? Especially the Tubtwist ride, it's just a golf caddy with a round seat, its got go-kats wheels!NEVER A COASTER
  21. How can you class the Half Pipe as a coaster but not the Disk'O? They are near enough the same thing apart from ones alot bigger!
  22. ^Well if you class that as a coaster, what do you class the Zamperla Disk'O as? ZAMPERLA.bmp
  23. I personally don't really class Stealth (Thorpe Park) as a coaster, more of a thrill ride! In saying that, should Tidal Wave at Thorpe Park be classed as a coaster? It has wheels, it goes up a lift hill and comes downhill! How on earth this is classed is a coaster: http://www.rcdb.com/ig884.htm?picture=3 And never in a million years would I class this as a coaster: http://www.rcdb.com/ig883.htm?picture=9 AGAIN this just aint a coaster: http://www.rcdb.com/ig2648.htm?picture=2
  24. Thats great, thanks alot Be sure to check out my first TR's to Alton Towers and Thorpe park, including a few mini videos + photos, they be done later today!
  25. I goes like this really, my Digital camara has a mini video camara built in it, so i take mini shots of rides, when i transfered the videos to my PC that is in my room which doesn't have the internet, they work fine but on this computer which does have the internet, they only have sound. So i have to transfer them to this computer to upload them, I just need to know wether they work or not so I know wether or not to keep adding them with my trip reports Thank you very much for your help!!
