Hello people, here a mini trip report from Disneyland Paris, 8th-13th January 2006. Firstly sorry about the lack of photos, I have a brand new Camera and I'm still trying to figure out how to use it properly! Also I apologize in advanced if I praise DLP to much in this report, but it is great and it is the most beautiful park I've ever been to! The effort that Disney put into making your holiday/trip the most Magical ever is unreal! This whole trip cost me £954 for 3 adults(me, my girlfriend and her we brother), 5 nights stay in the Sequoia Lodge, 6 days in the parks, return flights from Heathrow, 1 night stay in hotel at Heathrow, 7 days parking at Heathrow and coach tickets(to Disney from Charles De-Gaulle etc), but I don't care about cost when I'm going to Disney because I know I'm going to have a fantastic time, it real is so magical, everything about it, you might think that 6 days in the 2 parks is was to much time but when you have (IMO) 3 of the best coasters in the world(BTM, R'n'RC, SM:M2), it don't matter, also it's not just the parks that make the holiday, its everything, especially the night-life, I always look forward to my evening meal at either Annette's Diner, Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood, money is no object when I'm at DLP, the food is unbelievably gorgeous, I end up spending about 40 euro's on my meal every night!!! And don't even get me started on the beds in the hotels; they are what you call extremely comfy beds! So all round the clock I'm always looking forward to something, when I'm in the parks I'm looking forward to my late night feast, and when I'm at my late night feast I'm looking forward to going to bed, and when I'm in bed I'm looking forward to the next day. You know when your at home asleep having a dream that your somewhere else, somewhere really fun, and them you wake up and it's really annoying, well one night whilst I was at DLP, I had a dream that I was at home, about to go to work, it was one of them dreams that felt really real, but then I woke up and I was at Disney, that was such a great feeling!!! anyway, here's some pics Oh, also if anyone else has STAYED at a Disney Hotel at Paris (New York, Newport Bay, Sequoia, Santa Fe, Cheyenne etc) please let me know about the beds, is it just me or are the most comfy beds ever!!! Also does anyone have any news on the Pizza Planet here as it hasn't been open the last 2 years I've been, I'll always remember that place for my Pizza Burger I had, not a burger in a bun, but a burger in between 2 pizza's, lush!!!! Prepare for launch, tois, duex, un . Oh, I love it, I wish I was there now!! New silver paint on the moon trains, which do look better than the old green and gold! It's a spectacular sight at night time, they may have changed the themeing inside but the ride still ROCKS, especially as you now get launched from the bottom of the 60metre cannon, just a shame they didn't keep the old soundtrack! But Space Mountain is also one of my alltime favourite coasters and so is Rock n RC, and their all Vekoma's, with a little help from Disney Imagineering Ah, saving the best till last, hang on I've only just realised that I didn't get any pics of Big Thunder Mountain, balls!BTM is one of my alltime favourite coasters, everything about it is so awsome! Weeeeeeeeeeee. I love the themeing on this ride, needs a bit of fire though First ever Disney loop, quite an intense one aswell, you really fly through this loop at quite a speed, lots of +G's to be found here! It's actually probably my favourite vertical loop! Indiana Jones, although it was unique when it ran backwards, I do prefer it to run fowards! Phantom Manor, very cool ride Giant chrismtas, oh and the pink Castle Lovely blus skys, shame the tempreature is about -31'c The beautiful Disneland Hotel View from Rock 'n' Rollercoaster of giant ballon going up 400ft 'Postcard Pic' Angry dragon, grrrr Need I say more! BOO Contruction pic, thats it really Giant Stitch teddy, 160euros, thats about £120!!! Inside studio 1 Studios with Tower of Terror filling the skyline Not really much to say about this photo, but due to a case of Bird Flu found in France this Chicken Little is now in captivity. My girlfriend, Charlie, shes in love winnie the pooh. Sadcase PANORAMAGIQUE, the largest captive ballon the world, it will take you up nearly 400ft! One of the 1.4 million Disney Stores on the resort. Another one of the best restraunts here, Planet Hollywood Annettes Diner, one of the best restraunts on the resort! They serve you on rollerskates and they dance on tables and start conga's randomly! Sequoia Lodge, this is the hotel we stayed in, its lovely and cozy!!!with the coziest beds EVER Hotel NewYork, again not the Hotel we stayed in but its still very nice, I have stayed in this hotel before. Newport Bay, not the Hotel we stayed in but its still very nice

POV of Stealth, Thorpe Park
martinb replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm afraid it doesn't soar over the top at all, infact it crawls over the top, when I was queuing for it after nearly every launch you would suddebly hear a "oooooooooooooooooooooooo" as it just makes it over the top! Theres not much airtime on the airtime hill there is a bit if you sit at the back though -
Stand up Coasters
martinb replied to Neogreeneyez's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just didn't really get Stand up's, didn't feel like a "real" coaster experience, although I think a Stand Up Inverter would be interesting -
POV of Stealth, Thorpe Park
martinb replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Thorpe park should be renamed Downtime Park, when I went last Sunday, Stealth was the only ride that didn't close for more than 30mins, I can't even be bothered to list the rides that were closed all day! -
Whats Your Favorite Disney Hotel And Why?

Sequoia Lodge for me too, it's so cozy, especially in the winter when they have that big fire burning in the bar, and I love the super quick lifts they have! You can feel the +G's when you go up levels! -
Robb, Elissa, Dan, and Derek at SFMM today!
martinb replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
^Yeah, I got bored earlier today so I went straight to page 77 and worked my way down, you'll notice there a few topics from last March on the first page! A few people have added to this topic today, I wonder if they know it's from last year! -
*SHOCKWAVE* Your obviously not bothered about AT's payper ride attractions, which is fair, but it in the last year or 2 Alton got rid of their swan boats and replaced them with the payper ride speedboats things and now this year there getting rid of some other rides in cred street(The Cred Street Carousel and Vintage Cars) to add another payper ride attraction, so what's Alton Towers going ot be like in say 8 years................. I suppose in a way it could be a good thing (chargin for fast pass)if you have alot of money. When I went to Thorpe Park last Sunday I never saw anyone with a fast pass ticket, I never even saw anyone go up to Stealth' fastpass counter, but like I said it would be good if they had unlimited use but as you can only use 1 per ride, thats naf! There must be a reason for CWOA & TP not to charge car parking! Here's one very random question, What's happening with the Sky Ride at Alton Towers? I heard that last year it had serious problems and a load of people got stuck above the gardens and had to rescued by a helicopter, then I hear that they will be getting rid of it, but then it went quiet for a while and I went to AT last week and it wasn't open, which wrecked my day, well im normally knackered at the end of the day when im at Alton but this time it was a hell of a lot worse, my legs were dead!! Whats happening to it? I also noticed that NONE of the "pods" were in any stations!!!! That can't be good news!

First Coaster of the Season
martinb replied to MSLSM's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well I went to Disneyland Paris in January but I don't think that counts, so my first coaster was Stealth at Thorpe Park, Sunday March 19th Has your season not started yet? Most Parks here in England are all open, Blackpool Pleasure Beach opened near the beggining of February! -
But those other parks that charge for parking are free entry! Ok, fine it must cost alot to run a park but why is AT the only park to have loads of money making schemes? No others do, it's just greedy Charging for Fastpass tickets is one step too far! Also AT, TP, CWOA & BPB are the only parks in england that charge nearly £30, everywhere else is between £10-£20
-
^Correct, but isn't every park a business trying to make money? How come AT is the only park I mentioned about being greedy? Thorpe Park: No parking charge and hardly any games, and no pay per rides Best example is Pleasurewood Hills in Norfolk, not one single "fairground" game, no car parking charge and only £14 to get in and you only pay £14 once because you get a ticket which is valid all year to come back for £9, and when you go back you get another ticket for £9 entry Now I think about it, is AT the only park (in England)to charge for parking your car?

Silliest coaster ever ?
martinb replied to nemesis-storm's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Surely that "Go Gator" coaster is shorter than that^ Go Gator: http://www.rcdb.com/ig820.htm?picture=5 -
I do wish people would stop moaning about coasters called "Rollercoaster". I bet all them coasters where built in the early 1900's when there wans't many coasters about! So each park probably only had 1 coaster and they had only just been invented so whats wrong with calling them their name? Just tihnk they must have been all the craze when they first were made, so everywhere that had 1 would call it "Rollercoaster" because people would recognize it! Anyway, Bad names: www.pleasurewood.com Last year all their rides names were changed to very silly stuff, example: Pirate Ship is now Shiver me Timbers, The Rattlesnake is now Snake in the Grass, Log Flume is now Mellow Yellow, Fire Ball is now Whizzy Dizzy, Waltzer is now Walt Sir! WTF They must have been drunk! Nemesis Inferno (Should have just been Inferno, but because the "Nemesis" part, everyone compares it to the original!) http://www.rcdb.com/id1429.htm - OMG, what a stupid name

martinb replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I know it's been a while since you done this TR but can I just ask a question, Why didn't you go on X? -
Well Alton used to be my favourite park until they turned greedy: It's enough to have to pay £30 to get in but then you also have to pay £4 to park your car, and NOW YOU EVEN HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR FAST TRACK/FAST PASS TICKETS, AND YES I AM SHOUTING FOR REASON, THIS HAS MADE ME VERY ANGRY! You have to pay £5 to get on about 4 rides(you still have queue), it wouldn't be so bad if they allowed you to jump straight on the rides and you could use it an unlimited amount ofr htat day but no, you can only use it once per ride and you still hae to join the queue Also they got rid of their classic Swan Boat ride and replaced it with a pay per ride speed boat attraction, and theirs another pay per ride coming this summer(some silly driving school) and theres mass amounts of games to play scattered everywhere, I don't mind the occasional hook a duck, but AT has gone over the top, well you wlak through merry england and you get bombarded with staff forcing things into your hands trying to get you to play/pay about £3 for a crappy little teddy, and outside the Runaway Mine train theres a giant golf course which costs about a fiver and theres that stupid golf challenge near Oblivion, the list goes on!!

Don't thank me, thank Big John from www.coasterforce.com -
Now this is a rare POV, many thanks to Big John from www.coasterforce.com for getting this great rare footage! NOTE: The ride operator granted permission for the secured camera to be taken on. Loose articles must not be taken on Stealth without prior permission. Is it ok to have the video in this thread or do I have to provide a link to the video on www.coasterforce.com? Please could someone let me know asap so I can sort it out if needed! StealthPOV.zip

*REMEMBER* This is your favourite UK Amusment/Theme Park, not what you say is the best and start loads of arguements(although that is amusing), this is in your own opinon your favourite UK Amusment/Theme Park, and for what reason? For me this is very hard, I have plenty of favourite parks here, like the classic fairground style of Botton's Pleasure Beach Skegness or my first ever park, Pleasurewood Hills and the obvious Thorpe, Alton & Blackpool PB, I honestly can't decide yet, I love Chessington aswell!! I also have a feeling that a certain park won't get any votes, if it does get a vote, I wan't a bloody good reason for it! I think you all know what park it is! *AA* *PLEASE NOTE* the list is long enough as it is, so I have left out lots of little parks, ie Gullivers, Wicksteed, UK Piers(Brighton,Blackpool,Clarence etc). So if your favourite park isn't listed please mention it anyway!

^Well Top Gun and Silver Bullet are very similar except they don't have the Zero G-Roll after the loop, and I honestly did completely forget about Duelling Dragons!
