How come Kumali has a lowering floor? Do all SLC's have these as the only one I've been on doesn't! Also the Sandcastle are building more than one new slide, check their website: http://www.sandcastle-waterworld.co.uk/

Single Rider Line in the UK
martinb replied to dubaidave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oblivion did have a SRQ at the exit, but then the made it parallel to the proper que line, this was when I went in October!! -
I would personally like to see the Height record beaton by a traditional coaster with a normal lift hill!No launched rubbish( I do like them but I'd like to see a proper coaster brak some records(Speed, Height)), Like Millenium Force, but much bigger!!! The technology of coasters is getting way out of control, I don't think theres anything wrong with a good old traditional coaster! Also I'd like to see a real ten "looping" coaster, not just a load of in-line spirals. Like 5 vertical loops, cobra roll, large Zero-G roll and a double corkscrew!!!! I know its going to have to be a big coaster to pick up the momentum to get round all them loops but so what! But then all this is coming form the mouth of an entusiast, I'm guessing normal people want to see the best technology, but I realy don't care!!!

Single Rider Line in the UK

I have no idea why, but the Black Hole was exactly the same, on quiet days it had about a 45 minute que, but Spinball is probably the only coaster at AT that I don't go on on every visit! I can also remember whn I got in the park asoon as it opened and the que was already ful, this at about 9:31am but when I went straight to Nemesis I got on it twice and Air twice before 10am, but the funny thing is everyone runs to the Forbidden Valley!! It just confuses me!! Also never que for the front seat on Colossus, I waited an extra 1hr45mins and there was only about 3meters of que!!!!! Don't bother even LOOKING at X:/No Way Out, it's just depressing and very BAD!! -

Alton Towers now uses a single rider que on: Rita, Oblivion, Nemesis,Air and Spinball Whizzer, Spinball has the worst que, it may not be longest looking ques but it has the longest waiting time!!!Quiet days you'll que for Spinball for about 1 hour!!! -

Well thats interesting because if you look at the top of the home page theres loads of little pictures of the rides, but on the far right is a picture of their Enterprise, Zodiak, but this ride has been removed, I can't remember where I heard it but there was picture of the ride being dismantled and loaded onto a lorry and out for good! -
You might find this very strange hearing this from a male but this picture really is the most beautiful sight I've ever seen at a Theme park, well this was at Disneyland Paris, I don't know wether you can it a "theme park"! Well I vistited DLP in January like I do every year but this time for the first time we visited during their Christmas season, so I didn't know what to expect, but I was blown away! Christmas trees everywhere plus 1 giant tree near the castle, everywhere was decorated brilliantly, plus there was some real cool snow machines down Main Street, but one of the best bits was seeing the real raindeers in the Christmas parade! Any way it was late afternoon and we headed over to BTM for about 6 goes then to Indiana Jones and Pirates OFTC, by the time we had done that it had got dark, and I noticed that the sky was lit up by one almighty bright light, so we had to investegate, and when I saw it i was totally gob-smacked, I had never seen anything like it, it was so pretty! Unfortunetly I didn't have my camara with me but I searched the web for ages and found a photo of it! The photo I found is a bit close up, but when you walk around the park and see it, it's totally different because its there infront of you! It was like there was a famous film-star there bcause there was so many peopl taking photo's of it! Unfortunetly the photo is too bis so here's the link to view it( I recomend you right click on it and save it as desktop wallpaper as its smaller and you can view it all without scrolling to see the whole picture!) http://www.dlp.info/Guide/images/Backgrounds/XMas/BackgroundXMas05_1024.jpg

This (unfortunetly) is the old soundtrack to Space Mountain at Disneyland Paris, this is taken from when it used to be called 'Space Mountain - De la terre à la lune', but now its Space Mountain: Mission 2, I must admit, IMO the ride is better now but they should have kept this soundtrack because the new one isn't half as good as this one!! Still IMO, the best Space Mountain ever! This is great! YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THIS! ce_spacemountain.zip Space Mountain!

Yes it's true, everyones worst knightmare has come true!!!!! Heres what Vekoma say: Inversions, some people just can't get enough of them, so with those enthusiasts in mind we have designed a compact footprint launched looping coaster with 10 full and one extra, almost complete, 140 degrees upside down inversion. For those parks wanting to distinguish themselves, Vekoma created the Ten Loop Coaster. No element is missing from this newest high thrill ride. The Launch, Skateboard, Looping, Boomerang, Corkscrews, Heart line Rolls, Double spiral and a Camel back offering you a thrill of a lifetime. You can just tell by looking at the pic below that the first inversion, over banked turn thingy after the launch is guna rip everyone's head's off!!! People will die!

I've just been browsing the web and came across www.fabbrigroup.com and on their home page theres news about 4 new rides, 1 being a small family ride 'Boinger', another being a new spinning coaster but the main 2 were: Abrand new higher capacity 50m booster MAXX, heres what Fabbri say: Fabbri presented the NEW Booster MAXXX with 50 Metres height and with double capacity (16 Passengers). Fabbri decided to develop this new ride based on the big success of the Booster around the world. This version will be available in Trailer and Park version. The picture shows the new style of the vehicles. Also the biggest talking point is their new Launched coaster (a travelling launched coaster, cool!), heres what Fabbri say: Fabbri has planned to develop a New Roller Coaster with Launch System, this version will ensure hight capacity and will be perfect for Carnivals and Medium Parks. Fabbri will be ready to present this ride in the next two months with design and calculation of SDA-Engineering. The power system will be developed in cooperation with a highly specialized company that ensures to obtain a very high acceleration in short time.

Thorpe Park is tiny compared to Alton Towers Also Alton Towers' attempt to theme different areas is great but Thorpe Park's isn't, I can hardly tell the difference when Im walking round the park, it all looks the same, but Alton Towers really takes your breath away! If its quite at Thorpe Park, later in the day you should take a trip down the road to Chessington, its GREAT, even though its aimed at families!

^ There are signs that Colossus is starting make them noises! These horrible noises haven't givien me a bad impression of Intamin but an old B&M like Nemsis isn't having that problem! Thats why I asked if any other old Intamins where doing the same!!Because if they are, in a few years time Rita and co. are guna sound horrible!!! But maybe they use different wheels for their accelerator coasters?

^ Yep, totally agree, Ive only sat at the back of PMBO once and its was horrible getting flung over the top of the lifthill, lifting out of my seat 200ft+ was sooo scary!! -
Ive only been on 2 old Intamin Coasters, Shockwave at Drayton Manor and Indiana Jones at Disneyland Paris, by my god they make horrible noises, when watching Shockwave I ask myself 'Are the wheels actually spinning round? because they sound like there not and there just grinding against the track, and it feels like it too!!! Exactly the same with Indiana Jones! Does anyone know if any other Intamin coasters have started to do same? Also I always thought that Shockwave was a B&M coaster but its not, its an Intamin, apparantly B&M just hepled to design it but it has B&M trains and B&M track!!! And what is it with Stan-up coasters, I just don't get the feel of a coaster when Im on one, I just don't like them for some reason, am I alone in this thought?

I visited in feb last year, and Im never going then again, the queue's were horrific, but I go there every August and there's never any queue's, very strange because if you go to Alton Towers in the summer you'll be lucky to get on 4 rides per day! Hey 'Shockwave', I have a question for you, Did Spin Doctor have all its sign's in place? because on: http://theblackpoolpleasurebeachguide.moonfruit.com/ theres pictures that the Spin Doctors signs have been removed, also Brighton Pier have confirmed that there getting a Twin Fabbri Booster! Wild Mouse rocks, favourite ride there, along with Grand National!!! -

martinb replied to dubaidave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well there are a few other parks near Scarbrough, theres: LightWater Valley (home of the Ultimate, a very different coaster experience, 2nd longest coaster in the world, you have to ride this ferocious beast to understand the term 'ferocious' Fantasy Island, loads of great extreme rides, including 170ft slc, 200ft ferris wheel, 330ft tower ride thingy, 200ft shot tower! Pay per ride!!never long que's allthough it will be busy because of market! Pleasure Island, average family theme park, with 1 unique ride, a crazy flying enterprise!!! Skeggy Pleasure Beach, family pleasure park, nothing amazing here but will have a brand new fabbri spinning coaster, quite a few coaster credits to be had here! There all the local ones but then theres the obvious, Blackpool, Alton Towers, Chessington, Thorpe Park!! Have Fun
