^ I agree to an extent. And I do agree that it's not the replacement officials part. Regular officials in ALL sports make mistakes (Armando Gallaraga perfect game anybody). I think it all comes down to "control" of the game. Coaches and players are taking advantage of these officials, yes, even the coach of my favorite team Jim Harbaugh. By the end of that game last night there were 24 flags thrown. Most were good calls, some were not. The defensive pass interference that was called a few plays prior that led to this final "touchdown" that nobody is talking about as an example. Do the regular officials make bad calls, of course they do. It's an imperfect science. Do I think the regular officials would have gotten that one right, I don't know. I'll say I'm about 75% sure they would have. I'm 100% sure there would have at least been a discussion with the referee prior to making any decision. Sure, the Packers shouldn't have been in that position, the game shouldn't have been that close, blah, blah, blah, blah. Seattle isn't a bad team. Not by a long shot. Especially at home. So while it's a surprise, it's not a complete shock. -

Here's the thing, the Ref with a front-side view of the play (correctly) called it an INT. The ref that couldn't see because the back of the players was blocking him called it a TD. It IS a hard play. But you know what you do, you have a discussion, the "White Hat" comes over, doesn't do an "official" call, talks to both officials and then decides based on the arguments. That didn't happen and that's the point. I'm not going to say the regular officials would have gotten it right, they make plenty of mistakes. But they would have taken the proper steps to insure they got it as close as possible. These officials didn't do that because they don't know how to. These are officials that can't even officiate at a Division I or II in college, let alone the NFL. As far as the replay, it's a moot point. Possession isn't reviewable. -

Question about the new "Maps" app, I thought it was supposed to have audible Turn-by-Turn directions. Or does that require Siri (I'm still on the 4). Because I simply can't figure it out. Gregg "Most likely user error" C. -
Re: Coaster/Non-Coaster Rumors I find it hilarious how people complain that Knott's ignores the family market and there are rumors for flats (hopefully family friendly ones) and people complain. I just don't get it. I'm sure the changes made to Ghost Town over the last 1 1/2 years are also lost you as well. Re: Haunt We went on Saturday and had pretty much the same impressions as everybody else. Hanging - I hated it this year. It was very weak IMO. Maybe it's because I saw Bill and Ted first (and liked that for the first time) but I just didn't care for it. Pinocchio - It was cool, creepy and had some great scenes. Trick or Treat - Probably my favorite "Non-Trapped" maze of the night. Dominion - I absolutely LOVED this originally, just like Pinocchio, Knott's has been going for more of the "creepy" than scary the last few years. Trapped - Absolutely amazing. Had such a great time. Not sure if it would be highly repeatable once you know what to do but it's truly unique. If it's going to come back next year they will have to change things up. Great concept, great execution, highly recommended. Most improved maze ... without a doubt, Slaughterhouse. This was a low-point for me the last couple of years but they re-designed it a bit and the talent in there was fantastic. Mazes that need to go: Fallout Shelter - Never was a big fan of this one and this was the worst year for it IMO. Dia De Los Muertos - See above about Fallout Shelter. Mine Train - I'm torn. The re-theme is usually weak and people complain. But riding the "normal" mine train totally took me out of "Haunt". I just don't get why they don't just do a "Haunted Mine" theme. Stop with the Aliens, the underworld, the spiders and just have ghosts in the freaking maze. DONE!!! Hopefully once it get's it's extensive rehab they can re-haunt this. Log Ride - LOVE Evil Dead. Know this was from the remake but I don't care. Had fun and the Ash character before the final lift was PERFECT.

I want to add a couple of rides I'd like to see restored to former glory so I could ride them the way they were meant to be again: Ghostrider - 1998/1999 seasons Revolution - Pre OTSR's Colossus - Pre Sucky -

My 49ers are looking good after 2 weeks. Beat two great teams so far, but there is a LONG way to go. My picks: NFC: East: Giants North: Green Bay South: Atlanta West: San Francisco Wild Cards: Arizona/Tampa Bay AFC: East: Patriots North: Baltimore South: Houston West: San Diego Wild Cards: Pittsburgh/Denver NFC Championship: San Francisco over Atlanta (in SF) AFC Championship: Houston over San Diego (in Hou) Super Bowl: San Francisco over Houston My teams "on the rise" this year: Miami - I know a lot of people don't think they will be any good, and they probably won't be. But they will get at least 6 wins this year. Cleveland - Same as above. They will get about 6 wins, but their defense is looking AMAZING and Richardson may be the next up and coming RB. Carolina - This would be my dark-horse team to make the playoffs in the NFC. Teams "on the way down": New England - Yes I picked them to win the division, pretty much by default. I can't see them doing much once they do. In fact, I think they'll have the worst record among the division winners. Pittsburgh - Getting older, not very impressive the first two weeks. Detroit - I just think this team has done as much as they can with who they have. Teams I could care less about but hope they lose every game: As always, I'll be rooting against the Eagles, Cowboys and Raiders every chance I get. -

LOVE the new Nano. Looks more like the last generation Nano that had the wheel. I don't like the current generation even though I have one for running. This one looks much better and I will be upgrading soon. My only question on the new Nano is the Nike+ thing. With the shoe sensor on the previous generation Nano you could put the iPod in your pocket and get a very accurate result. With the current generation you have to clip it on your pocket like a pedometer and I've gotten mixed results. This new one doesn't seem to have a clip but it also claims to be like a pedometer and not need a shoe sensor. Hope they release some more info on this aspect. -
^ I've thought of doing that one Joey, should be fun!!! Good luck.

The NHL Discussion Thread

^ True, but then the player who makes $10 million for playing a sport asking for more $$ is just being greedy. The average salary in the NHL is what, $2.1 million per season? Including paid-for travel, per-diem, medical and I'm sure tons of perks. That's an amount most of their fans could only dream of making. It's just greed all the way around. Pure and simple greed. -

These are awesome. Too bad there is no word if this will be travelling to any other parks on their website. Was there anything there stating where the exhibit would be travelling to next? Also, from their FB page: So unfortunately it closed yesterday for anybody heading to the park the rest of the season. -

I'm going to be honest, I blame the players the most for this. Yes, the owners are greedy, but they should be. They are the ones putting up all the $$ and the risk. The players, despite what they think, are simply employees of their respective teams. Nothing more, nothing less. Period. A lot of fans are supporting the players on one hand while complaining about ticket prices, concession prices, parking prices, merchandise prices ... it all goes hand-in-hand. The more the players get paid, the more we are going to get paid. Period. -

^ Sad. The Disney gift bags have really dropped-off even in the 3 years I've been doing the race. So I wasn't planning on doing another 1/2 for awhile but found out about a local race at our local naval base (Wounded Warrior Half) on Saturday so decided to do it. Registering for a 1/2 three days before the race ... I've done crazier things.

Maybe not "Thrilling" for you, but for families with kids, plenty thrilling. My kids are out of this age range but I still think it's a great addition to the park.
