^^ I know for the Marvel films there were pre-existing distribution contracts with Iron Man/Thor/Capt America (Paramount) and Hulk (Universal) so The Avengers was actually the first one distributed under "Disney" (All future ones will be Disney except for Spider Man which Columbia has held on to). I may be wrong but I think the Star Wars distribution rights were just for the Prequels (Fox) and didn't include any future distribution since Lucas pretty much financed those movies on his own and they just had distribution rights. I would assume they wouldn't have any pre-existing contracts like the Marvel films and all future Star Wars films would be distributed solely by Disney. Of course, there could be some kind of deal in place that I haven't heard of.

^ I was referring to DisneyLAND, obviously this couldn't happen at WDW as Universal has that deal for Marvel use in parks on the east coast. You are 100% correct. Just look at the video game division of LucasArts where Lucas himself was much more hands-off. They've made some great games over the past decade.

This can be seen as nothing but a good thing, even the announcement of Star Wars 7. Disney has proven with the Marvel acquisition it's willingness to get good talent attached to these movies. The geek power at Marvel studios must be salivating at the thought of getting their hands on the Star Wars/Indy franchises not only for film use but theme park use as well. Hopefully this also means we will FINALLY get the original (non Special Edition) trilogy on Blu Ray. This also means that Disney should abandon all thought of a CarsLand 2 at DHS and do the entire Star Wars land. They no longer will have to pay Lucas anything for licensing. This is a no-brainer. 3rd Park at Disneyland is Star Wars/Marvel. Abandon the Iron Man ride for Tomorrowland and have it be for 3rd gate.

This is why I love Sirius/XM app and the fact I can plug my iPhone into my iPod dock on my stereo and not have to hear Buck and McCarver but instead the local broadcast of either team. The biggest trick is getting the audio and the picture to line up, but with the ability to pause TV it doesn't take long. -

Congrats to the Giants ... boo to the Tigers who weren't even competitive in this series. Sure some of the games were close, but there was absolutely no Drama, I knew the Giants were going to come back and win it last night. From the sounds and look of it, so did the Tigers and their fans. I'm a Dodger fan so seeing the Giants win it 2 out of 3 years is disappointing, more disappointing is that horrible end to the baseball season. Without a doubt one of the worst world series in my lifetime. It was just so boring. -
^ I don't think by asking why "operations" on a certain coaster (Tatsu) are notoriously bad and have been talked about on multiple websites for YEARS that would mean that's criticizing maintenance. Yes, the park Maintenance crew has a lot on it's plate and I think most people understand why the ride can't really run 2 trains. That still doesn't explain the consistently horrid operations.

TPR Cruises the Disney Fantasy!

This looks absolutely great. I've seen lots of Trip Reports from Disney Cruises (even the re-positioning ones going through the Panama Canal) and always thought it looked nice but was never tempted to throw down the $$ to do one. This one convinced me otherwise. While my kids are no longer in the main "Disney" demographic I still think they'd have a great time. -

How did the Turkey legs compare to the ones sold in the parks? -

I dunno, they were talking about the Mini on Howard Stern this morning and his resident iSheep was all excited for the iPad Mini but when asked "why" he couldn't answer the question, but he was still going to get one. I think a lot of people are going to be in the same boat. I'm considering one, but honestly when you really start looking at the other Tablets this looks like the most "reactionary" move Apple has made. Will be interesting to see what happens next with with Googles anticipated price cuts on their tablets. -

What is your favorite TV-series?
Sir Clinksalot replied to Hattuchili's topic in Random, Random, Random
Most of the shows I watch now are on cable, I agree with those of you above who mentioned Newsroom. Absolutely fantastic. Other current favorites include Doctor Who, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Falling Skies, CSI (the original has returned to greatness!!!), Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation. There have been a few shows that I've kind of given up on like Survivor, The Middle, The Office are among those. I've actually found myself going back and watching older shows on Netflix Instant like Alias. The show was so amazing and has held up incredibly well. -

4D Coasters
Sir Clinksalot replied to ViperLover's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Check out this video. At about the 3:00 mark you can see the mechanism very clearly. There are basically 4 rails on the coaster which raises and lowers the mechanism causing the seats to rotate. I know there is a more technical answer, but since you can see it so well on this ...
