  1. ^ Disko is certainly one of my favorite "newer" flat rides. In my old age (lol) I can't really handle flat rides that flip upside down a lot. I've never even ridden a Top Spin, just looking at them makes me ill. And my favorites used to be the Hammerhead and Zipper when I was growing up. I still think my favorite flat ride is the Tilt A Whirl.
  2. If the Players don't take this I think I'm done with the NHL. http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/8512006/nhl-offers-players-50-50-split-hockey-related-revenue
  3. We went to Hershey on a Friday Night in 2005 when they were open for a Hurricane Katrina event. It was absolutely DEAD and we had absolutely no problem riding everything in the park we wanted to, multiple times. This was a non-planned day though and wasn't announced until 2-3 days before so I'm sure that was a factor.

  5. ^ Nice review. I really wanted to see him at the Hollywood Bowl a few weeks ago just couldn't swing it. I'm hoping he'll come back next year, certainly one of my "Bucket List" concerts.
  6. Don't get me wrong, the Giants are good. I think they may be the best team in the league right now (Sorry Falcons fans). I just don't think they are THAT good (beating a supposedly elite 49ers team 26-3). I had a feeling the Giants were going to win, but I thought it would at least be a competitive game.
  7. 49ers played their absolute worse game in 2 years yesterday. I didn't think they could play any worse than the Vikings game, I was wrong. I know the Giants are a good team, but they aren't THAT good. They just couldn't get anything going and I'm not quite sure why. Luckily they only have a few days to wait as they play Seattle on Thursday.
  8. ^ Couldn't agree more. You don't see this in ANY other sport. Could you imagine NBA teams popping Champagne after each series win? In Hockey? In the NFL Wild Card/Divisional Playoffs? I don't have an issue with the conference championships, NL/AL Champs, etc ... but after each round? Ridiculous. If the Cardinals end up winning the World Series they could end up doing the Champagne thing 5 times (clinching wild card, wild card 1-game playoff win, divisional series win, NL Champs and World Series). Ridiculous.
  9. ^ The wood didn't get painted, it got "treated". The Deja Vu thing actually makes sense along with the trees in that area.
  10. ^ I haven't ridden it since opening year. If I want to see a movie I'll go see Muppets or Bugs. I think it's funny how everybody bashes the un-themed queue lines at Six Flags/CF when there are a LOT of unthemed queues at Disney (mostly in CA).
  11. ^ You mean the Nemo queue at Disneyland doesn't do anything for you?
  12. I don't have the exact numbers Robb, but along with Bugs/Muppets/Screamin' (running at full capacity) I'd think it's right there as the top 3-4 people-eating attractions at DCA. So yes, it doesn't get a line, but when it was soft opened and during the AP Previews there was indeed a line. Gregg "Waited 60 minutes for Mermaid on a preview day and haven't waited more than 15 minutes since" C.
  13. I realize the FP is for the FP+, but a ride like that doesn't need it IMO. Apologize if I missed that picture the first time around.
  14. Robb, I totally agree with you. I absolutely love the DCA ride. But I also love the Monsters Inc. ride so ... I've said it before but Mermaid was EXACTLY the ride that DCA needed and EXACTLY the ride that MK needs. An air conditioned people-eating ride with no Fastpass. (The MK one doesn't have FP correct?) Is it the best ride ever, no, but as Robb said, it's immensely better than Pooh, Disneyland's Nemo and the overrated Peter Pan. I love the Facade for MK's, DCA's is ok, it fits in with Paradise Pier and honestly they never have to use the outside queue so no issue there.
  15. Looks absolutely GREAT!! The Mermaid ride is a great addition to the park as well. The queue and building looks really great, much improvement over DCA's non-existant queue. Glad they got the same great ride though.
  16. I can't imagine that he's just been sitting on his ass for the last month. I'm sure he's been working out and it hasn't been THAT long. But you are right, I just don't think they are going to change their mind now to save face, even if it happens to cost them a Championship. Which is sad. Interestingly enough, has Strasburg said how he feels about this whole thing?
  17. Absolutely amazing day of Baseball yesterday. Sad that the final game last night (A's/Tigers) didn't live up to the previous 3 games. Only game I missed the end of was the Giants/Reds but I didn't want to see the Giants celebrate anything. Should be two great games today. I've got Washington and O's advancing. I think CC is due to give up some hits and the O's are do to string some together. They've been batting nervous and making stupid mistakes. I don't think that's happening today. So question, if Washington advances, ANY chance Strasburg is placed on the NLCS Roster? Have him come in relief for Game 1/2 to get some work and start him in game 4 and a possible game 7 or Game 1 of the WS. At least that's what I'd do.
  18. ^ How do you throw for 363 yards and lose to the Titans? Sad.
  19. Isn't it an invasion of privacy that they didn't blur out Ice Bat's face?
  20. If you are near a TV, looks like the Cards/Nats game is going to come down to the wire. 1-1 in the bottom of the 7th. EDIT: Nationals play tomorrow on an absolutely INCREDIBLE at-bat by Werth.
  21. In other news, "Mad Dog" on SiriusXM has said that after last night the Yankees are going to the W.S.. Quite a bit premature if you ask me.
  22. Also interesting that the path won't let you go in front of Log Jammer, it only goes behind Mooseburger. Anybody else hit a dead-end right around DC Universe? Won't let me keep going. LOL.
  23. ^ No question he should win coach of the year IMO, but it's going to be tough with Bob Melvin from the A's as well.
  24. It's obvious given the right environment that Cassell can be a good QB. I mean look what he did in NE the year Brady was hurt. I think people always assume it's the QB's fault and don't look at the system or how the team is utilizing them. Why pay all this $$ for a QB and then not build on his strengths? Prime example, even though I don't like the guy, Tim Tebow. Look what Denver did last year. They completely changed their offense to fit his game and they ended up making the playoffs and winning a game. Granted, a LOT of luck came into play, but they did everything they could to to try and make the team better with who they had. Another example, Alex Smith. He was TERRIBLE for a lot of years. I mean he was benched in favor of Shaun Hill ... more than once. But look what's happened. He got a coach who believed in him, has an offense that builds around his strengths which in-turn has increased his confidence level. It CAN happen and I'm going to predict that this year or next year, he's going to be in the Pro Bowl. Watch.
