Good lord. Funnily enough, Six Flags was pretty lenient about their unlimited refills. You're *supposed* to scan your membership card for a fill up because there is a time limit like Universal's, but a lot of places didn't have any employees checking and the one time there was, they waved off scanning our cards. I just hope that guy was filling up on Powerade or something; that much soda in a day with walking around a park in the heat... just asking for dehydration.

I haven't been to WoF for Halloween in years, but I remember having a lot of fun when I did go. Lore of the Vampire was awesome and it's still there! My favorite part of Halloween at WoF, though, is the music. They play a lot of the Edward Scissorhands score, which is just such a beautiful soundtrack. -

I did some poking around the SF STL website (since that's the nearest SF to WoF) and... yup. All of their haunts specify "additional fee" and some of the mazes as well. It doesn't say what the fee IS, though. Their FAQ is so focused on trying to be funny and "in theme" that it doesn't really give you a whole lot of info... I did see that apparently the Diamond level memberships get a Fright Fest Haunt wristband. Aside from that, though, looks like you have to pay. Well, I'm definitely gonna stick to Worlds of Fun for Halloween, that's for sure. I've gotta go give this info to my friends; we have SF Silver memberships and were gonna go for Halloween, but we might as well wait, giving us more time to save up for gas and food, and just go for the Holiday fest instead. -

Wait. What? You have to pay for the haunts separately at SF??? -
I did a quick google and apparently that pretty tree with the cotton balls is called a Silk Floss Tree. The cotton-looking things are actually its fruits; the seeds are buried in the middle of those balls; the flossy fruits are what gave it its common name of "Silk Floss." I'd never seen nor heard of those before! You got really good pics of it! Also, the meals you guys had at Amber Wave look SO yummy!

I had to do the "walk of shame" on Goliath, although my friend thinks it was actually him triggering the "not ready" light or whatever it is that tells them to check restraints. I was able to fit on Twisted Cyclone at SF Over Georgia, though it was easier in the morning than it was in the afternoon just after eating a funnel cake. Then again, RMC coasters have always been a tighter fit. I had to do the walk of shame on X-Flight as well, but that was because my stupid boobs are too big for those over-the-shoulder restraints. If you've got a flatter chest, you'll probably be fine. Sadly, I can't report on Maxx Force because it was down for hours both days we were there and we just couldn't fathom waiting in line for 3 hours for it.

Billy is amazing! I haven't actually watched him in anything, but I've been enjoying watching him SLAY on various red carpets this year.

Seconding Cyclone Sam's. One of my all-time favorite rides! -
I've always said I'd love to go to Dragon*Con, just so I could see all the amazing cosplay in person.... but I didn't know the attendance was *85K*!!! The largest con I've been to so far was Anime Midwest this year, and that's only about 15k; before that, the largest one I'd been to was around 3k. I don't know if I'd be able to handle going to such a large con unless I had lots of friends with me. Of course, I'd go to this con as a congoer rather than as a guest/staff, so I wouldn't have any obligations like I normally do (I help my friend run his portable manga library, and starting this year, I also helped his boyfriend with his pachinko parlor), so I imagine I would be a little less overwhelmed because any time I need to take a break, I would be able to without having to make sure someone is there to take my place like when I'm working at a con. I LOVE those pictures of the inflatable dinosaur dance party! Now *that* is something I'd love to do!

Hmmm. Yeah, we were on the back row both at GAm and OG. Also, good point about having enough water on a hot day. I don't think we hydrated ourselves well enough 'cause we got the unlimited refills bottles, so we were drinking a lot of soda (I tried to remember to drink Powerade as much as possible, but even I fell short on hydration).

So, here's a question I just realized I forgot to ask: is there a reason why Batman: The Ride would be running when every single other ride in the park is closed due to lightning in the area? It happened on our second day at OG. Every ride was closed, but Batman was running like there was no tomorrow. Also, does anyone else experience a gray-out on that ride? I did on both the Chicago and the Atlanta one, as did my friend. It's the first time I've ever experienced a gray-out.

So, uh, is there a way to change your home park on your Six Flags membership? My friends and I bought our memberships at Great America, but that isn't our local Six Flags - St. Louis is our nearest. I've logged into my membership account and there doesn't seem to be a way to change which park is listed as my home park.... So now I'm getting e-mails about Bring A Friend, but it's for GA and I don't live anywhere near Chicago (friends and I are in Missouri). Do we have to go to the park to change it? If we go to SF STL, can we change it to our home park there?

So, my friends and I did both SF Great America and SF Over Georgia on our month-long road trip last month, and while I liked both parks, I've gotta say something about SFOG's loose articles policy... At SFGA, they have large cabinets, color-coded to the trains, where riders can put all their loose articles. They lock the cabinets and rotate their use, so that whichever train is coming into the train, that's the cabinet that gets unlocked for people to get their stuff. It's a super smooth process and you don't get harassed about not putting your stuff in a you-know-what. At SFOG, though... all they have are the shelves you put your drink bottles in. Except Twisted Cyclone, which has a small cubby that has a sign over it that reiterates that loose articles are not allowed on the ride. .....but they don't let you use that cubby. I put my hat and sunglasses in it, trying to follow the rules, but one of the ride operators grabs them and hands them back and tells me I'm not allowed to use that cubby. Like, what?! And here's the real issue: I didn't have that problem the first day there - they had no problem with me leaving my hat & sunglasses in the cubby on TC and setting them on top of my drink bottle at other rides. But omg, the second day, they absolutely wouldn't let me do that. So, I spent the rides trying to make sure I was holding my sunglasses tight enough (my hat was okay; I just stuck it around my wrist like I've done at other parks before). It's disappointing that SFOG has moved to the whole "you have to use the pay-for you-know-whats" policy, whereas SFGA has such a smooth loose articles procedure and doesn't have you-know-whats everywhere. *** Also, if you are 5'3" or shorter, good luck getting onto Pandemonium. I tried to get up but just couldn't manage. I asked the ride operators for a stool - which I assumed they'd have considering Acrophobia had two available - but they're like "oh we don't have stools, you just gotta jump". Like... seriously?! I tried again, this time maneuvering as if I was mounting a horse, and I managed to get into the seat, but the way I put my weight on my left leg was wrong and I pulled something in my calf. I was in pain the rest of the day into the next morning. I was limping the rest of the day. Thankfully, it was just a strain or something and ibuprofen helped so I was okay by the time we went to the park the next day. But still, I don't understand why Pandemonium doesn't have stools like Acrophobia. Really a bummer. I was afraid of re-hurting myself the second day, so while I loved the ride, I skipped it while my friends went. Those are the only real complaints I had about SFOG. Everything else was great! Oh, well, except Great American Scream Machine... All three of us agreed that we are never ever ever going on that one again. I tried to keep my mouth shut since kids were on the ride, but someone a few cars ahead of us was cussing a storm quite loudly by the end, and I totally agreed with him. WTF.

Looking at this person's 6 posts... The last 4 of them are in this thread (2 of which are duplicates), and the posts have wording that reads like spam. And in fact, the URL he has listed in his profile takes you to a product review website.... -

I weighed again this morning and I'm down to 243.8! So, yeah, I think a lot of the weight gain was water retention; I drank more soda than water on my trip, but I've been downing more water than anything since I got home and the swelling is gone. Still drinking soda, but only my Zero ones. -
That addition to Coronado Springs is GORGEOUS! I love the architecture! Not sure how well those elevators will go with it being a hotel that will likely be super busy all the time. I was just introduced to this system last weekend in New Orleans at the Hyatt Regency.... the days before and after the convention weren't bad - the elevator worked well with few people around... but omg trying to get to our room at night during the convention was a NIGHTMARE. They eventually had to put an employee in each elevator to manually control it from inside because the system was overloaded from so many people asking for an elevator. These are called "smart" elevators, but I think they need a bit more smartening up, like maybe a sensor that tells it how many people are already in the elevator? If you have a capacity of, say, 10, and 10 people get on on floor 12 and all want to go to floor 1.... said elevator shouldn't bother stopping and opening at floor 7 for other people wanting to go down because they won't be able to get on that elevator - they should've been assigned a different one.
