I just got back from a month-long road trip and was able to add a couple states as well as spend more time in some I'd been to before. I found a really nice mapmaker that lets you choose the level of "visiting" you've done in a state; so, like, if I've only been to a state because my flight stopped over there, it doesn't get ranked as high as a state where I've stayed weeks or more. EDIT: Whoops. I got Mississippi and Alabama mixed up... I've spent more time in AL than MS. https://www.gasfoodnolodging.com/visitedstates/ coral for states where you've not spent much time or seen very much. orange for states where you've at least slept and seen some sights. blue-ish for states you've spent a lot of time in or seen a fair amount of. green for states you've spent a great deal of time in on multiple visits.

I was on a month-long road trip in July, so I did a LOT of cheating.... When I got home, I was 250lb, which was about 10lb more than I was when I left. But then two days later, I was down to 246, and I think it's because I was really swollen and had retained a lot of water from all the sitting I did (driving, etc). So my non-water weight gain was around 6lbs, and I'm honestly surprised 'cause I thought I would've gained WAY more with the way we ate. I mean, we were in Chicago, Green Bay, Pigeon Forge, Columbia (SC), Atlanta, New Orleans, and Memphis, amongst others.... So lots of pizza, fried cheese curds, beignets, etc. Lots of soda, too, 'cause we got Six Flags memberships with the unlimited soda refill bottles... So considering all that, I'm okay with the few extra pounds I came home with. -
Oh wow, looks like you guys had an amazing day! I'm definitely jealous. I haven't been to the St. Louis Zoo since I was a kid.... and right now I live about 1.5hrs from there and have done for 5 years and still haven't made it back there. It looks SO nice! I'm really enjoying your TR; can't wait for the next entry!

I don't drink, so it wouldn't bother me too much not to get into the Cantina.... except I totally wanna see DJ Rex in person. Also, does anyone know if they'll release the music from the land on CD or anything? I really, really wanna hear the full versions of the music in the cantina; what I heard in various vlogs was VERY catchy.

Honestly, that's good! I've read many times that the healthiest weight loss is only 1-2 lbs a week, and that slow loss is easier to maintain than really quick 10+ lb/week losses. -
So far, of the straight-up remakes of their older animated movies (so Burton's Alice doesn't count in this, as it's a continuation of sorts), my favorites have been Maleficent - which gave her a super interesting backstory and I'm excited for the sequel - and Cinderella, which was close enough to the original to feel familiar and homey, but different enough that they not only rounded out Ella's character, but they also gave life to Kit, the Prince. I haven't seen Jungle Book yet. I, personally, like the Beauty & the Beast live-action film, but that's in addition to the original, not as a replacement or whatever. After the trailers came out for Lion King, I found myself really uninterested in seeing it.... until Entertainment Weekly had a multi-page story about it and I finally realized that they really aren't making this movie to redo or add to the story like the others - its existence is pretty much because they wanted to try new things technologically. And now that I know that the entire film is CG (I had thought the scenery/environment was filmed and the characters added to it), and I've read about the really amazing VR tech they used to direct & film the movie.... I'm back to wanting to see it again. Also, they've got an amazing voice cast, so that'll be fun, too. I'm excited about the "live-action" Lady & the Tramp that's coming to Disney+. Tessa Thompson AND Janelle Monae doing voices? YES PLEASE.

I've been doing keto. Not super-strict like some, but enough that I've lost about 35-40lbs doing it. I have a sweet-tooth, but that's been taken care of with stuff like Coke Zero, Powerade Zero, and Orange Crush "water enhancer." My daily goal is to be under 50g carbs for the day; I know there are others who go as low as 20g or lower for the day, but I can't manage that. I have IBS, and chicken and eggs are two of my main triggers, so it's harder for me to find recipes/food for keto that doesn't involve either of those. I don't mind cauliflower, and for a while there, I'd been eating sour cream & onion mashed cauliflower from Birds Eye, but... one night I ate more than I normally do, not thinking about the fact that garlic is listed in the ingredients, and... well.... garlic is another of my triggers. Let's just say that I can't look at or smell cauliflower without painful flashbacks now. So, since then, I've been trying to eat stuff that's a bit simpler ingredient-wise. I'm also autistic, so I will/can eat the same meals every day for several months in a row. So, for the last half a year or so, my keto diet has been a pepperoni pizza lunchable for lunch and a quesadilla for dinner. LOL -
So, remember how Disney released a single Pride-themed piece of merch last year in the form of a rainbow ears-hat? Well, that hat is back this year, but as part of a huge new line of Pride merch! And you don't have to go to the parks to buy the merch; the line is available on the Disney Store website! https://www.shopdisney.com/collections/rainbow-disney-collection Also, 10% of all proceeds go to GLSEN, an organization that helps support LGBT kids in K-12 schools. The Pride collection also has its own display window on Main Street in Magic Kingdom - it's so exciting to see them putting it out there for all to see!

Thanks! Yeah, same shirt. It was a souvenir from our trip in 1998 to Mt Rushmore, so I only wore it a couple times and then it stayed in the closet untouched because I wanted to keep it looking nice. One thing about being autistic is that I end up with favorite pieces of clothing that I'll either wear over and over and over until it's all holey, or I'll keep but not wear much because I love how it looks and I don't want it to get worn out. I don't get new clothes very often, mostly because when I ever do have a bit of money (like for bdays and Christmas), my brain prioritizes special interests over necessities like new clothing. Anyways, thanks for the birthday greetings!

So, yesterday was my birthday and I've been wanting to participate in that "10 year difference photo challenge" that was going around earlier this year. I'd decided on a photo to recreate, but since it was a birthday photo, I thought I'd wait to recreate it until on my birthday. Anyway, here it is: PS: That is actually a 20-year comparison... Photo on left is me on my 14th birthday, on the right is me yesterday on my 34th birthday.

So, they weren't able to recreate my symptoms during the tilt table test, but my blood pressure kept skyrocketing while doing it. And then my echo came back okay except my left ventricle "ejection fraction" is in the 50-55% range when it's best if it's above 55%, so I have an appt with a cardiologist at the beginning of June. I just hope that when all these tests and appointments are over, the outcome will be that I am still able to ride rides, 'cause it would be super devastating to be told I have to skip coasters and stuff.... -

You know, we've lost a lot of great people over the last year or so, but it feels so different from 2016... Probably because while we're losing legends, we're losing them to old age rather than cancer or heart attack or stroke or whatever. These older actors are people I grew up watching, so it's sad to see them go, but it's nice to know that they got to live long full lives. -

I'm still on a plateau; I've been cheating for way too long (it started with the holidays, then things got super stressful in our family, so it has continued....). However, all my bloodwork came back perfect, so that's good. Got a tilt table exam and echocardiogram scheduled next week. Hopefully everything turns out okay; I've been having this weird feeling whenever I stand up from sitting where I can feel one of my veins in my neck pumping so hard it feels like it's closing my airway and I end up catching my breath. Really weird, so gotta get that figured out. At least my blood pressure was excellent (120/88)... I'm just extra worried about my health 'cause my grandma had a massive stroke in late February, and it was because her blood pressure went so high (she was freaking out about trying to get her house cleaned up for my grandpa to come home from rehab after he broke his hip and had to have surgery)..... And I asked my mom about what year it was my grandma had her first stroke, and when my mom told me, I did the calculations for the first time in my life and realized she was only a year or so older than I am currently when she had her stroke. And that was a stress-caused one, too. So, I'm trying my best to keep up on taking my pills (for anxiety and depression, amongst others) and just allowing myself to cheat on my "diet" because I feel like I need it right now to just be able to chill. -
I finally saw Endgame today. All I can really say is that I've been with the MCU since 2008, and I have been on Team Iron Man the whole way. So, uh, I have lots of feelings about Endgame, and not all of them are positive. Then again, I haven't been happy with any of Markus & McFeely or Russo Bros stuff in the MCU. I hope they are done with Marvel now that Phase 3 is over.

I am so woefully under-traveled. I've only been on two of the top 100 coasters... (Outlaw Run & Lightning Rod). *le sigh* -

Just a bit of rain and thunder here right now, but southwest Missouri has been lit up in tornado warnings; Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas are also getting hit today. -
Parks people NEED to go to
tinaalsgirl replied to RoxasBraveheart's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Silver Dollar City and Dollywood. Disney World. For parks I've heard of but not been to yet, Carowinds and Cedar Point seem like they'd be super fun, particularly if you're into coasters. -

Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread
tinaalsgirl replied to OzCatter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No injuries, no weapons, no arrests, and only one person charged with "disturbance of peace", so not as bad as it sounds, at least IMHO. WoF wouldn't be dealing with these constant fights if parents stopped using the park as daycare for their teens. If you have hundreds of unchaperoned kids let loose in a theme park, it's not surprising that they get unruly. WoF isn't the only park having trouble with undisciplined teens, either. Silver Dollar City often has trouble on Young Christian's Weekend, with instances of graffiti left on the walls of ride queues (I've seen it in person; a couple of them were stupid enough to even put the date with their names) and teens being loud & unruly because they don't have anyone getting after them about their manners. -
What is your next park?
tinaalsgirl replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
At the moment, the plan seems to be Six Flags near Chicago (I can't remember the specific name of that SF), but I'm hoping to change my friend's mind and have us detour to Carowinds instead (we're doing convention appearances three weekends in a row, so going to Chicago, then Green Bay, then down to Columbia, SC).
