  1. Adventureland became a destination park with just 1 cheap coaster. Valleyfail can't even manage that hat trick. Adventureland is not a destination park, what you need to realize is, Cedar Fair caters to the GP, not the enthusiasts. They will get the same attendance at Valleyfair whether they add a B&M Invert, a Gale Force clone, or a waterpark expansion, so Cedar Fair is going to go on the cheaper side of things, which is why you guys get good, but lower cost coasters like: Impulse Clones, GCIs, and other things like that.
  2. Hi Robb/Admins, To start, I do know that double posting is against the rules, so I had a question. I made a thread where I can post all my trip reports, and I posted one, and nobody has replied. I wanted to post another TR, is that allowed or would it be considered a double post? Thank you, -Me
  3. You have to remember Jordan that Cedar Fair in all honesty doesn't care about years between coasters, they want bang for their buck, and they want rides that fit. Cedar Point gets coasters year after year becuase they have an entire hotel complex to support the tens of thousands of people that go there each year, SOLELY to ride their coasters. Valleyfair doesn't have that. It took Cedar Point years and years to get enough coasters for people to make it a destination park, and I think it'd take 2-3 absolutely MIND-BLOWING coasters and a hotel on-site for them to just start to get that. My home Cedar Fair park is KBF, the park is extremely close to Los Angeles, which just happens to be the 2nd biggest city in all of America, and they haven't gotten a thrill coaster in 12-13 years now. A big coaster might "fit" in an enthusiasts eyes at Valleyfair becuase they want something big, but the local crowds will go there whether they add a waterpark addition, a Planet Snoopy addition, or a B&M invert, with little to no attendance varying. If they add a B&M invert, I can guarentee you that 99.99% of people would still never go there just for that, so why would Cedar Fair want to add that?! They could add a Smaller coaster, like a Gale Force clone, that fills the inverting gap (they only have 1 inverting coaster) for MUCH less, and they'd still get essentially the same amount of people in the gates as if they blew a bunch of money on a huge coaster!!!! They wouldn't get a huge jump becuase that coaster wouldn't suddenly make them a destanation park, and I don't ever see them becoming one.
  4. As someone who lives in LA and has visited the park before, I'd like to share my ideas. I personally think we'll be seeing a Chance Hyper GTX, with maybe a 0g roll thrown in. With the exclusion of TC which is quite the drive from Seaworld, the California Market is sorely lacking a fantastic airtime coaster. The Chance GTX's is roughly 100 feet, so in my personal opinion, I think they could build a bit taller. This would fill the gap of an adult, inverting, and compact coaster. Many people are forgetting that the marketing plan said: Twists and Turns, and while they could be talking generally, I think they literally mean this. A Sky Rocket II/Gale Force clone wouldn't have this, as they practically go in a straight line. Also, one last quick note, WoF has been heavily rumored to get a Premier coaster, so maybe this will be going there, or possibly even Valleyfair, heck, even Wild Adventures in GA. All we know is its going somewhere in the US, and thats pretty much it (as far as I know), so I wouldn't get too set in stone on this park getting it. This is just my analysis, and I'd be happy to answer any questions about the park you guys might have
  5. What a terrible tragedy!!!! Prayers to the boy and his family!! I hate to bring up the security issue with this, but how on earth did they get past security guards, locked gates, and get past the entrance of the slide (like a barrier blocking the stairs up), and get all the way up to the top without being noticed?!
  6. Hello everyone, I'm planning on visiting SFMM coming up on Jan. 3. Does anyone have any advice or tips? Should I buy a flash pass?
  7. And I'm fairly confident that, if the 2013 NTAG accident hadn't happened, Gerstlauer trains would still be in use today on Iron Horse makeovers. I'm pretty sure that this is the first time Gerstlauer trains on a non-Gerstlauer coaster haven't completely screwed it up, lets see here: The Boss, Twisted Twins, Mega Zeph.... yep, its a pattern. I can completely understand Six Flags's possible reason for not using them any more, but they are REALLY good
  8. Superman: Ride of Steel would like to have a word with you
  9. I personally could see a Reverse Time clone like the one at Quassy with that teaser. The thing I'd personally like to see at the park is a Hyper GTX, but honestly, it'll never happen
  10. since we know its a hoax now might I ask where you got this info from I heard it from that same the people were tearing apart above
  11. Wrong Thread, this is the Six Flags Over Texas thread, not the Universal Studios Hollywood one
  12. Hi, you might want to check the park's social media now as I just received word from my friend that the annoucement has been posted!
  13. Yes and I have changed the title to seperate it from the other thread. That does look like pretty bad theming, but in my opinion, Elitch Gardens or Michigan's Adventure have the worst modern park theming/asthetics
  14. My bad, this thread didn't show up in the search thing when I entered it, hm. Thank you for showing me this
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3MBWybVrmA I made a video where I complied all my Dad's dumb GP sayings. Warning, its cringy
  16. I've been to some parks with some pretty bad theming! What do you think is the worst theming attempt at a park that actually tried! My vote, Cyclone Bay at Magic Mountain, you can tell they tried in the beginningm, but then they just slapped stuff everywhere. Whats your vote?
  17. Please excuse the double post, but they will also be retracking and getting new trains on Wildcat
  18. They have annouced that Martin & Vleminckx will be retracking Boulder Dash with new Gravity Group Timberliners!!!!! This looks amazing and I can't wait to see how it turns out!!! I have a friend who knows stuff, and I can say, this will be overall a good year with more still to come!!!!!!!
  19. As I posted on my Instagram earlier today, my top secret source has informed me that Quassy will be annoucing one of those cloned spinning coasters from SBF Visa Group. I'm wondering when it will be announced!!!!!
  20. Six Flags puts in actual theming. A ride themed to the Apocolypse in an area themed to Boston?! Come on!!!
  21. Great Escape: 1) Getting Sold to Six Flags 2) Continuing to be operated by Six Flags 3) Six Flags not wanting to sell it, so a new owner could possibly end that coaster drought
  22. 1) Ghostrider 2) Silver Bullet 3) Xcelerator 4) Sierra Sidewinder 5) Monte 6) Pony Express (could be 7 depending on how tight the bar is pushing on my chest) 7) Coast Rider 8) Boomerang 9) Jaguar 10) Timberline Twister
  23. Hi there, Could you please change my title to Coaster Parodies, as thats the YouTube that I run and I think that'd be super cool. Thank you so much! -Me
  24. While I think that that is an INSANELY awesome idea, I think the park will go for the family route for the next half decade, get a dark ride, kid friendly shows, and other family oriented activites to draw away the families from SFGAm, then when their buisness is really strong and they're growing fast, then they'll add a "bigger" coaster, maybe not a Hyper G-TX, but maybe an El Loco or a Switchback style ride
