Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Valravn was just opened to public a few weeks ago. I think we should just embrace it, and worry about a new coaster later. It stresses me out. Please no Vekoma SLC's though. Kidding. -

Mean Streak becoming an RMC would be nice, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Who knows--they might just decide to remove the woodie and put a new coaster in. (That wouldn't be for a while though, of course....) -

I went to CP yesterday. The lines weren't too bad--I have to say that Valravn was probably the longest (2 hrs), but that's not very surprising. Everything else ranged from about 15 min-45 min. GateKeeper was basically a walk-on later in the day. -

Michigan's Adventure getting a new roller coaster. Now that's crazy. -

Going to CP next Wednesday. How have the ride times been on weekdays? I'll be there from about 11:30-6:45--I haven't been to Cedar Point since last August so I'm excited to be "refreshed" again with all the rides -

Have any of you ever been taken off of Raptor before the normal loading station (because of high winds)? I had that happen to me last summer; it was already 9:30ish so Raptor was basically a walk-on, and after we finished the ride we had to be taken off before the typical station (with the help of employees) due to the high winds. I know Raptor closes quite a bit due to the wind, but that had never happened to me before. -
What is your next park?

Going to Cedar Point and Kings Island for sure this summer. -
You'll be cutting it close if you don't have fast lane. Anyhow, I'd recommend going on the rides with the longest wait times first. Don't go on any of the rides towards the front of the park until the afternoon, as those are extremely busy in the morning hours. Millennium Force, Maverick, and Dragster often have the longest wait times, but sometimes GateKeeper and Raptor can get pretty long as well. Good luck! Edit: Though I have to say that it would've been much easier to ask this in the Cedar Point thread....

Going to CP on a Wednesday in early June. How have the Valravn wait times been? -

I've caught a view glimpses of GateKeeper and a few other rides running on the live webcam. It's so surreal to see the park "lively" after so many months. I can't wait to make a trip to Cedar Point! -

Seems now that Valravn is photobombing Raptor, instead of Raptor photobombing Valravn. The irony.... -
Michigan's Adventure is sort of like the Six Flags America of the Cedar Fair parks; it's okay, but not great. Both Michigan's Adventure and Cedar Point are about 2 1/2 hours away from me, and it's very rare that I choose to go to MiA instead of CP when I have the option to. I really hope they add a new coaster within the next few years. But yeah, it is kind of strange MiA isn't open all that long, but Michigan's weather is very unpredictable in October. It could be snowing like there's no tomorrow or it could be 80 degrees and sunny. You never know.

Rougarou at Cedar Point (I really don't know why). By the tenth time my ears were ringing. That ride can hurt... -

I'm not going to CP until early June, but in a way I'm glad I'm not going opening weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if the park is a little chaotic, due to Valravn and all. However, I'll definitely ride Valravn before anything else when I go. I've been waiting for it for months now....so excited!
