  1. ^It was... then the park decided to invest a lot of money into Echo Hollow on upgrades so that they can bring in bigger names to perform.
  2. Really? Which ones? Of all the B&Ms I've been on in the last few years, the only one that really took me by surprise as being somewhat forceful was Banshee. And while that ride was REALLY good, it still was not as forceful as coasters B&M have done from 1992 - 2002. True but we're not comparing to 1992-2002 - and going back to the full quote, they (B&M) only design what the park wants. That doesn't mean they are incapable of making "OMG FORCES11!!1" coasters.
  3. B&M only designs what parks ask them to design. Also the newer B&Ms are far from "soft"
  4. If you go off the latest word backstage it is to go between PK and Wildfire but I don't have any hard evidence to back that up. I'd say until ground is broken over there, location should be treated as "up in the air" Another thing that is uncertain is type. It's pretty well known that it is a B&M but conflicting reports on what type. My safe guess is wing rider but who knows for now.
  5. I'm assuming the budget is for the entire area. So shops, infrastructure, clearing. It's going on the side of a massive hill so I imagine that played into the extra cost.
  6. When you know the right people and have the right "real world job" things sometimes things just fall into line. Usally I just sit on the info when I hear it, but like I said, since the student group tour companies that line up trips with schools are already mentioning it - it's a pretty safe bet 2017 will be the year. The money portion comes from a contact at the park.
  7. It only has issues when it rains anytime during the day
  8. It's quickly becoming the worst kept secret in the state, but 2017 will be a BIG year for the park. Budget for the new coaster is being mentioned/rumored at $35-40M. Local tour companies that line up school tours to Branson already stating that 2017 is THE year to visit.
  9. This pre-show is indeed death, but I think the one you used to have to sit through before you FINALLY got to the movie at Terminator 3D was worse. dt SUPERrrrrr
  10. Avoid Saturdays and you'll be fine. Sundays tend to be the better day to go. However if we have good weather again this Spring like last season it'll be busy.
  11. Exactly. I'm not saying that they are going to remove it, merely observing that it was done at VF, and might possibly be trend CP may follow. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there isn't much room left on that island, people. You're wrong. There's plenty of room.
  12. While your labeling system is your prerogative - having a bunch of flat rides does equate a family park. The park really only has one family roller coaster (Spinning Dragons). Fans of the park have stated for a long time now that there is little for families to do together. There is a lot of younger kid stuff. There is a lot of stuff for thrill seekers. Not much middle of the road.
  13. People still wait 2+ hrs to ride Superman at SFGAM. I'd say that's a crowd pleaser. OR that the ops are really really bad for the ride.
  14. Land clearing begun as soon as the season was over It also helps that we have a new PR person now. Eric reminds me a lot of Brandon. Very passionate and excited about the job. Racheal unfortunately was more interested in other things besides doing her job. Not sorry that she is gone.
  15. Eric Burke is the new PR director Formerly of Fox 4 News
  16. Yes. Rachael left. On her own from what I was told.
  17. Probably just a rebranding - much like KidsFest is now Star Spangled Summer and is virtually the same thing
  18. PTB finally are going to do something about crowd flow trouble spots in the park during the off-season. The biggest changes will be down by Saloon running from skillet to FITH. The entrance to Hospitality House from the square will also have changes made.
  19. Over due!?!? Based on what? Some theoretical formula that states a park must add a coaster every x number of years? The park is not hurting for a coaster. What is hurting for is some modern thrill rides.
  20. 2017 will be an off year. Did you mean 2018?
  21. Most GMs are not as candid about specific wants or include actual locations for upcoming projects (as is the case with the dark ride). But please continue. As for conclusive proof, I guess you'll have to get your butt to an actual Q&A session
  22. It's not a new rumor though - it came from CoasterMayhem back last fall. Not sure why Screamscape is just now getting wind of it.
