  1. Have you ridden any of them or just going off of looks and what others have said?
  2. OR Timber Wolf could be viewed as a family friendly wooden coaster with the revamp!?! Perhaps it's not about you "self-proclaimed thrill seekers" this time!?! Nah, that's just crazy talk. Fact of the matter is that the revamped sections last year were great. I don't need my spine realigned for a "good time"
  3. I don't think Banshee has as near of the "wow" factor for the GP that Gatekeeper has, nor does it have near the "wow" factor that Valravn has(is going to have.) Agree to disagree. KI received quite the bump in attendance from Banshee
  4. They had those on the original slide complex at Oceans of Fun (that has been cloned several times now). Basically it is acrylic sections put into the opaque fiberglass tubes. The sun then shines through and you get this cool effect.
  5. I just don't see an invert being a good fit at the park. Not because it is to similar to wildfire, but I don't see it having enough of an "appeal" to the GP. Obviously I could be wrong. I have no idea what is going in at the park, what would be a huge draw for the park, and what the park thinks is going to be a good fit. I just personally don't think an invert has any where near the same "wow" factor, or "appeal" that a Dive Machine, or a Wing Coaster has. I totally get that. I mean look how much of a dud Banshee was for Kings Island. Oh wait.
  6. Still not good enough, methinks. If they're looking for a true family coaster they need something like Firechaser Express. Having a lower height restriction isn't what makes a coaster a family coaster - it has to be more approachable than a big, bad B&M. Well you have ThuNderaTion, Fire in the Hole and (one could argue) PowderKeg
  7. But to replace one of the best ejector moments on ANY wooden coaster with a lame over bank? Reprofiling usually means it will be better than before. Actually it means any change to the original layout. They reprofiled the first drop and curve last year, was that for the better? They are trying to keep the trains from tearing themselves apart. Hey, at least the first drop trim is gone now, right? (as of last year)
  8. Yeah...I totally knew that before just this moment too. It's really hard having everything be old news, but I guess that's the price you pay for being so hip. No need to be butthurt. However it has been discussed numerous times in this thread.
  9. They haven't hidden the fact that there was going to be major reprofiling done.
  10. An inverted on the side of the mountain would be pretty epic - but I fully expect it to be a wing coaster
  11. A good 3 years but it was called "The Bull" in the survey then
  12. There is a retaining wall that is obscuring the view of the access road. It's still the same size and in the same location.
  13. All right. Did some digging today and talked to my sources (news had been a little thin lately but now the extended contract seasonal workers are back at the park). The survey is for a 2020 addition. The 2017 coaster has already been bought and paid for. Apparently contracts were drawn back in January. Everything is still pointing at a B&M. Wasn't able to get anymore info than that. Of course the usual fine print is always in effect - all mentioned additions are considered rumor until confirmed by the park regardless where the information comes from. Blah Blah Blah
  14. Photo Credit: Worlds of Fun Facebook *Besides the new rides - notice the progress on TW in the background. Snoopy Jct installed. Kite Flyer about installed in background. Moon Buggies to the right.

  16. Hopefully they manage the lines better here than they do at St. Louis. A single rider line would do wonders as they constantly send cars out with only 4 of 6 seats full.
  17. Well I guess your humor was lost on the masses (read: it wasn't funny enough for people realize it was a joke)
  18. Just because I am curious. . . What is it about Wildfire that you don't enjoy? Wildfire is by far one of the smoothest B&M coasters out there, not to mention the view to the left of the lift hill is amazing. There is a nice mix of inversions, and the first drop provides nice airtime in the back row. Agreed, I think Wkildfire is the best B&M that isn't an inverted/hyper/dive or Krypton Coaster! I like it more than all other floorless and other Sitdowns like Kumba and Hulk. What's interesting is that WIldfire has the chassis of a floorless coaster but has the floors. If you look at Kumba, you'll notice that the seats are more set into the train whereas Wildfire has a very open setting to the train.
  19. It will be a 500 ft. Matt Ouimett ripping apart classic flat rides at the park and giving us Planet Snoopy expansions until the end of time. ...I take it you haven't read the last headline link in this thread. Sometimes the obvious is lost on people. Especially millennials
  20. With 4 inversions, this won't be a small dive coaster
  21. It could be about the caves that are under the park -- plenty of scary things could live down there
  22. They could do a Baron themed dive coaster pretty easy by PowderKeg. After all it's a mining themed area
  23. PTB stated last Fall that they were eyeballing a spot near Thunderhawk for the dark ride
