  1. Just so I'm clear... It is now a definite fact, from some official source, that there will NOT be a new coaster in 2017? Because I had ruled out going to SDC later this year, due to a new coaster coming next year, since I have a large family, and am always very low on discretionary income for coaster odysseys , and can not reasonably expect to go to a place as far away as SDC in consecutive years. Thanks in advance for the clarification!
  2. As a Michigander, I second this explanation! You should be good to go, even on a Saturday!
  3. Wha??? Who is saying Storm Chaser is the worst RMC? I haven't seen anybody say that yet, while I have seen Goliath consistently in that position. Storm Chaser is absolutely nuts, and a Top 5 coaster for me! If that's really the worst (or even second-worst) RMC, then once I get on all of the RMC's my Top 10 is going to look almost entirely different!
  4. I love all the love for Fury! That coaster truly is amazing! I too, can't wait to get back on it sometime!
  5. Here are my Top 5 longest coasters I've been on... 1. The Beast - 7,359 ft 2. Fury - 6,602 ft 3. Millennium Force - 6,595 ft 4. Voyage - 6,442 ft 5. Mamba - 5,600 ft
  6. I was able to get a few laps in with a non-existent line like that May 19th of this year! Unfortunately, they didn't let us through the exit station gate though... Still, walking into the station on MF is always EPIC, even if it requires a little extra walking! I definitely recommend coming out to CP in May during the middle of the week, because it's SO much better than the summer months!
  7. I mentioned earlier, but I'll mention it again... If they decide to go "retro" in the naming of the new coaster, I think "Beastie" would be a great homage to both the original, and to The Beast as well.
  8. that first hill itself makes me want to get there to ride. only been there once when Chang was brand new. lol I always thought the single most intense and forceful airtime I'd ever felt was on Maverick... That first hill on Storm Chaser laughs at Maverick's hills! (The second airtime hill on Storm Chaser still delivers it about as strong as Maverick's hills do!)
  9. Relative to every other seat, yes. I still ride it when I get the chance, but only in the last two rows. If you guys rode any of the front seats... I feel especially sorry for you! I did ride T3 in the front, so there's that. However, Thunderhawk in the front was WAY better than our 3rd or 4th row ride!
  10. I'm just glad the SFOG doesn't have any RMC coasters, so I don't open up this thread just to read the same exact thing posted in a billion other threads!
  11. What is this That's what I was wondering! Was he intoxicated when he wrote it??? I guess he was. Getting drunk at an amusement park seems like a really bad idea. Getting a little buzz on before going on a coaster is fun! But getting drunk? Definitely a poor choice, I would think!

  13. I agree with that. Im the same way with the new B&M vests. The way the restraint crushes my crotch is horrible and makes me hate them. So I see what you are saying about different body types. Im 5-10 and on the thiner side at only 180 pounds and can not get comfortable with them. If you don't like restraints that crush, you're going to hate the new T3 restraints! Im heading back to kk next month to ride SC and reride my beloved LR so thank you for the advise. Ill bring some advil lol And pray you don't get stuck on the brake run for any length of time at all!
  14. I was going to point out the flaws in your logic, but I think you're pretty well worth ignoring all together. This is pretty much where I ended up in regard to it as well!
  15. Fury IS life!!! Glad you enjoyed it, and weren't a victim of anticipointment! Looking forward to that TR whenever you get around to it!

  17. I think I realized that in my mind, this layout wasn't nearly as large! Are we sure of that ratio/size of the coaster, in comparison to the rest of the area? Also, the exact orientation is a little bit different in my mind, as the upper T portion is tilted, ever so slightly, but then fits pretty much perfectly into the old RFYLCB footprint, including the part that goes back North behind Flying Ace. Applying my tilt, and location in place of the flume, and your size of the ride, it still seems to fit there, but it definitely will interact with both the train and Diamondback, as it goes over the one, and under the other, before completing its turnaround in the woods behind the old Tomb Raider/Crypt building. This still would avoid WWC, I believe...
  18. ^^I rode that 300 foot skycoaster as well! That definitely qualifies as scary! (And it's ruined me ever riding any of the more common, much smaller variants...)
  19. SLC's are great intense rides. If most people just kept there head forward they would realize that there more intense then 50% of the beemer inverts out there. I rode T2 and liked it, so im sure the improved T3 is even better. The new restraints are actually part of the problem with T3 though! You can't lean forward, but you don't need to, because there's nothing to bang your head against. But while there isn't that, for whatever reason, the restraint keeps tightening and pressing down the entire ride. You think those restraints on GateKeeper opening year were bad? Take that discomfort, multiply it a few times, and that's what it feels like by the time you're sitting on the brake run, feeling your legs slowly going numb! And that's not even discussing the fact the entire train feels like it's shimmying the entire time it's running its course! I despise SLC's to begin with (the proper way to feel about them ), but was optimistic about T3 because of the new restraints. Instead, it became my least favorite SLC... Terrible, terrible coaster, and if they hadn't invested so much money into trying to fix it up just recently, I'd hope for a water park expansion to replace it ASAP!!! (But one good thing on the side, is that Thunderhawk looks a lot better in comparison to T3! ) Oh, and I know it's all personal opinion, but from my extensive experience, the worst B&M or Intamin Invert, is way better than the best Vekoma SLC!
  20. First off, it'd be nice to save the log flume, and have the entire coaster buried in the woods. I'd love that. But looking at the site imagery, and also street viewing the log flume area, it just really makes a lot of sense to me in regard to hyping excitement for the ride, to have its hill, and curved drop right there in all of its glory, on the midway, before disappearing into the woods. That's how you pique people's interest (Non-enthusiast types I'm talking of here) in a coaster, they may otherwise overlook, or be on the fence about riding. Regarding crossing the train at low speeds, I guess I'm not sure what you're talking about, as the area I envision crossing the train (which would appear to be in the "are of work" portion of the diagram), you're going to be at or near top speed on the trip out, probably going over a hill, and then will likely be doing the same on the way back, only slower. But GCI coasters never really let up too much on speed, so I don't envision that being too much of an issue. As for interference with WWC, the way I've aligned it in my mind, there is no interference with WWC, or the other side of the train. The coaster would stay entirely in the woods NE of that pond area. I agree, that this will involve an updated area around it, but in this case, I think that is mainly pertaining to the updated ride plaza, gift shop, etc., which is what I believe the current visible land clearing, where the old WWC entrance, and the funnel cake building used to be. This coaster will officially be a part of Rivertown, and not Planet Snoopy, even though it'll be highly visible from there, and could attract up and coming coaster lovers to want to give it a try - which I think is part of the intent of this smaller, White Lightning type coaster. That is currently my 9 year old daughter's favorite coaster! I could be completely off here, but when I look down at the area, and the shape of the layout we've seen, it just seems hand-crafted to fit in that spot, utilizing the RFYLCB footprint. I wish I could create one of those images like you can, to show you what I mean...
  21. Sometimes, I feel like you're a clone of me, because you ride things at CP the way I've been doing, and advising people to do, since the 90's! I guess great minds and all, eh? Regarding the feeling on Demon Drop, until the day of its removal, I considered it the scariest thing at CP, and this is coming from a hardcore thrill enthusiast, who'd like to Sky Dive someday! That anticipation when you rolled out, and knew you'd drop soon... And then the absolute pit in your stomach as you go into complete free-fall... If that drop ride was as tall as Power Tower, I think I'd legitimately be terrified of it! (But ride it anyway!)
  22. Glad you enjoyed yourself, tykunkel1031! I agree with pretty much everything you said, based on my recent visit to KK! Storm Chaser was an absolutely amazing coaster, and while I currently have it at #5 after 20 rides, I think it could still move up the more I really think about it, and with repeated riding! LR was very good, but just didn't have the "wow" factor that SC did for me, and was more painful with repeated riding, surprisingly. Plus, those dispatch times... Still, a great coaster, a great park, and yes, the waterpark looked amazing, too! I just hope they are making enough money to keep running well, because it almost seems to me they are giving away the gate, so to speak, with all of their incredible deals!
  23. What they really need to do, is have a separate line, like a flash pass queue, for those not interested in the VR. That way, those people can just ride in the front, or wherever else they don't have VR, and not be subjected to the ridiculous wait times the VR has incurred.
  24. Whew! I watched all hour and five minutes of that video, and in the end, don't know a whole lot more than I suspected already. Basically, the biggest takeaway, as far as new information, is that it appears the structure will be steel supports, like White Lightning at Fun Spot. In fact, as I mentioned many pages ago, it sounds like this will be basically a White Lightning in the woods - which is an awesome concept! One thing they didn't mention, when discussing where this coaster will go exactly, is that the Log Flume's removal was clearly teased earlier in this process, so if that wasn't a red herring, its present location will more than likely be where the upper "T" portion of the coaster will be. The presently cleared area would be the entrance to the queue, photo and merchandise building, and new plaza. The coaster hill, and drop, will be very visible to the midway that way, before disappearing back into the woods. Aligning the coaster the way I think it will end up going, based on this location, the turnaround will be just to the West of the train, and Diamondback. Also, I haven't been to the park this year, so I don't know precisely where the new entrance to the rapids ride is located, but I suspect that it was re-routed around where this coaster is going to traverse as well, as it cut straight though beforehand. I'm not a photoshop guy, so I don't have an image to show you of what I'm thinking, but hopefully a glance at Google Maps will give you a solid idea!
