  1. Shouldn't count as there is no drop. What does it matter how high in the air you are if you don't experience that height with a drop. I'm with you 100%! I still feel like counting SkyScraper the same way one would count Millennium Force or Fury, is extremely sketchy! Heck, I always clarify the difference between traditional lift hill coasters (like the aforementioned) and TTD, KK, because I feel like the height on those coasters is more of a gimmick, than something really notable. They're really all about the speed, and the high top hat is just a way to burn it off...
  2. I'm not really familiar with the park, which is why it was phrased as a question of plausibility in my original post. And, I wasn't technicality the first, as somebody else mentioned JLBFM earlier, which set me to looking at Google Earth to see what kind of room there was around Superman. Which of course, led to that observation. It was just a thought that came took me, if that's what it is, yay, and if it's not, yay. I was more trying to be humorous, than obnoxious, but you know how fine that line while posting on the internet can be. It's all good though! I'm just looking forward to one more exciting (presumably) thing being at SFOG when I actually finally get there! I also think the free spin idea for that location is a good one, maybe themed to a superman villain, or another JL member.
  3. That IS a great image, bottom line! The fact that it's the sun setting over Mean Steak is only fitting icing on the cake!
  4. Hey, I just think it's funny that there has been talk for days here about this, and I just read and observed, and then I post this, get little traction from it at first, and now everybody's posting it! Just a simple, and humorous observation. Honestly, what's really predictable, is people taking offense at it, and acting like me pointing it out was some lame, enthusiast-y thing! That response, I was counting on! I'm not even saying this is what it's going to be. It's just funny that it's suddenly become the idea de jour, that's all!
  5. Posted around Noon today... Hadn't heard this specific idea before posting, but now it's all the rage! It makes a lot of sense, honestly...
  6. What happens with the interaction with Diamondback and White Water Canyon, if you pull it North a bit, so that the station and brake run are over land, and not the water, and the top portion of the "T", is nestled in the trees a little more?
  7. Well, maybe the one that almost came off in my hand was already loosened, because I certainly didn't apply much force to it, certainly no more than is reasonable to expect when touching the seat of a coaster train you are stepping down into.
  8. ^It hadn't been when I rode it June 5th... Are all RMC coaster trains' padding that fragile? I know another one on Storm Chaser almost came off in my hand when I was getting into a train!
  9. If I had dollar for every time I've heard a TPR member say this I'd be... pretty broke actually. If this is saying what I think it's saying... If it's not, well I guess I may just have a dirty mind!
  10. ^To me, that seems needlessly far back off the beaten path... I would think they'd want to at least have it somewhere close to the pathway, to build excitement. But then again, KI is already known for its mysterious wooden coaster out in the woods, so why not have another, lurking back in the trees! There would be an incredibly long queue/walkway, just to get to the station from the clearing already made on the main path, but again, they have that already with the rapids ride, so it's not inconceivable... One thing I keep coming back to, that I know nobody wants to think about (or mock up...) They sure made it sound like RFYLCB is going to be getting removed after this season, so unless that was simply a red herring, I am still of the opinion that they will be removing that, and placing the station, and lift hill portion of the ride, where that is currently located. I hope they keep it, and I love the idea of the new wooden coaster being hidden in the woods! I just wonder if we're trying too hard NOT to acknowledge the flume may leave... (Don't kill me coasterbill! It's an honest observations! )
  11. What are the chances they are closing the Dodge City Bumper Cars, and putting a JLBFM installation there, next to Superman?
  12. I'm with this guy. I feel like neither of you really "get" precisely what feeling I'm talking about, that is different after visiting with any consistent frequency, but that's fine... The view is awesome, and builds excitement for the park every time, no doubt, and on that we can all agree!
  13. I haven't experienced it yet, so it's a little out of place for me to actually judge, but I must admit I am not thrilled with the trend. When I ride a roller coaster, I want to see the track, the scenery, and feel like I'm riding a coaster - not experiencing some other event (and if it's out of sync, that's even worse!)
  14. Not sure what to say about the WT thing... I've never seen it myself, all the while seeing many MF issues... *shrugs* Not saying you're wrong, obviously, but it does make me curious about what is the defining difference. My dad is the "beer belly" kind of guy, and struggles with MF. Now that I think about it though, I can't recall him riding WT definitively, so I'll have to ask him what his experiences are there. Bringing it back on topic, I just hope he can fit on LR, forget MF and WT!
  15. This makes me sad, because I actually love Arby's, so if it sucks compared to Roy Rogers, then I AM missing out! (I still love Rax the most, myself, but there aren't many left!) Oh, and yes, Green Lantern does rather suck...
  16. I don't know. I can think of a wickedly twisted ride in the same park that might give it a run for it's money. Mystery Mine does too. No issue for me but I can sympathize. It's interesting, that I hear a lot of people say that about WT, but have never seen anybody I've been with have issues. Yet, they can't get on MF... I'm thinking it must be where the person's girth is located on their body that makes the difference. More up top, no WT. More of a beer gut, or for females, being unusually large around the hips, no MF.
  17. I don't recall anyone saying there never was, only that I had never seen or heard of it. If that's the case there, that's something that needs corrected. No reason for them to not match and it does a disservice to the park guests. It's pretty well known, that MF's seat belts are not all created equal. I've seen a bit of difference from seat to seat. Now, MF may be an atypical example, but still, it does happen. I agree that having test seats that don't match what's actually on the train DO do a disservice to guests, and whiny enthusiasts have nothing to do with it. Take it from me, who has been with both a father and a wife who have had to do the walk of shame... Nobody wants to have to do that, and most people are aware of their proportions enough to know when they should get in a test seat, and if they fit there, but not at the coaster, there IS a problem the park should correct.
  18. Yeah, my dad and I must have come to it right after it reopened from downtime, because we literally walked onto the ride, in the front seat. We were both blown away, and immediately said we preferred it to TTD, and went around and rode it there again, this time with only a one train wait for the front. I was very impressed, which makes all the hate I hear for it odd to me. I guess that's just because we never rode it anywhere but the front though... Oh, and I love the paint job WAY more than TTD, and in fact, it's one of my favorite on any coaster! So it has that going for it too...
  19. I wish I could be there to experience it with you! Enjoy!
  20. ^The only two times I've ridden Kingda Ka, were in the front seat, and I enjoyed the ride immensely! In fact, probably due to that fact, I hold the unpopular opinion that it's better than Top Thrill Dragster! The OTS didn't do anything to deter, or diminish the ride experience for me.
  21. ^I said it still excites me when I see it, but it's nothing like it was back in the day when I didn't even go every year, and it was the highlight of my life. For example, I've already been four times just this year. As cool as it is, I'm not going to have the same internal excitement seeing it, that I did when I was young, or even years when I've only gone once or twice. I do get extra excited to see the view when I'm going with others who have never been, or haven't been in a while, as I live the experience of "first sight" vicariously through them!
  22. Enjoy Fury! I'm sure you will!
  23. I'm very excited for you! I always love that moment, when first timers see the park from the causeway for the first time, and their jaws just drop in astonishment! It reminds me of my early years going to the park, when that was such a magical sight for me still! Don't get me wrong, I still love going, and get excited with that view, but it's not the same anymore. The joy I can feel through some of the first-timers' posts here, is palpable, and I love it! Plus, I know you're in for a real treat, as it truly is an amazing park, which is easy for us regulars to take for granted! Have a great day!
