  1. I agree with this wholeheartedly! I don't think it will be 2017, but do see it happening in 2018, and I do think it will take the #1 spot in the park, just based on how close Storm Chaser was to Maverick and MF already for me, and people say that's one of the tamer RMC coasters. This very fact, is why I honestly can't fathom CP NOT RMC'ing Mean Streak soon, as they are all about going big (unlike Six Flags, which just uses that term as a slogan), and being the best, and RMC Streak will do that for them, unlike GCI Streak, or leaving it as is.
  2. I feel similarly, at least as far at it being over-hyped. I still have it in my Top 30 (#30), which isn't bad at all, and makes it a very good coaster still. But after riding it 7 times in a day recently (including 5 in a row), I was more than ready to stop riding it. Storm Chaser? I rode it 20 times that day, and could have ridden it 20 more! THAT, was the definition of an amazing coaster, at least in my book! And yeah, the LR restraints are ridiculous! I joked around with others that it was like being put in a prison cell getting into those contraptions! Oh, and for what it's worth, the restraints on Storm Chaser only bothered me 2 of 20 times, so I think it's just a matter of them being stapled, or coming down in the wrong place, randomly.
  3. I disagree vehemently with anybody saying Storm Chaser is not a "great" coaster! It's in my top 5 of well over 200, and lots of experience riding coasters... It is no doubt a great coaster! Now, it may still be one of the weaker RMC coasters, but that doesn't mean it's not great in its own right.
  4. So many times when I'm reading TPR, I see things that just leave me with Mark Whalberg-face...
  5. That's asking for a lot. I was just going to post the same thing!
  6. ^I'd still ride GL every day of the week and twice on Sundays, over the wretched pile of crap that was GASM! Sure, it's a Stand-Up, therefore not a great coaster. But at least it's not as slow and painful of a death as its predecessor was...
  7. There's nothing wrong with not being knowledgeable about something unimportant like Pokemon. I've filled my brain's "useless bull***" quota with other useless bull*** (see my presence on this board for example). Seriously... If it wasn't for having an overnight job where there's a lot of downtime where I can do "useless bull****", I would probably post here very rarely! I don't understand how anybody with an actual life can find time to do this Pokemon GO thing, but hey... Their life, not mine!
  8. Sorry, it seems like there is a bit of a misunderstanding. If I decide to spend time and money to get to a park 10 hours away, I honestly do not feel guilty for "annoying" an employee who is strict enough to lessen a guest's experience over a rule that doesn't have any purpose. If the operator would just let you choose a row if you ask, that's fine. But in my opinion, an operator who constantly refuses to let the paying customers of a park choose their own row is being the @$$hole in that case, and I just believe that they should be treated as such. But I do see your point at how my previous comment wasn't thought-out well. I actually agree with what you're saying, except to say that the true "@$$holes" in this situation would be the people in charge of implementing this asinine policy across the Cedar Fair chain. If Matt Ouimet walked up to me and asked him what one thing CF could do to make their park experiences better, without a doubt, elimination of all assigned seating from the chain's parks would be off my tongue before he finished the question. To blame the ride worker for enforcing a rule that he/she has been told to enforce, is misguided, though I understand your frustration (Fury is my #1 coaster, and I've never even ridden it in the front due to this ridiculous policy.) If an op lets you choose when you ask nicely, in a sense, going against his superiors, then that's very nice of him/her, if not a little risky personally. But to expect it, and not get it, doesn't make them the @$$hole. I think that's where the backlash against your post is coming from...
  9. Yes, I realize that. I'm just saying that they could have made the ride, and have it be very similar, without that exact spot being used. The terrain isn't as important to the ride experience as it was on BBW, or would be (potentially) on a Flying Coaster. As someone who is very nostalgic, I am at least glad that they DID re-use that diving spot on Verbolten, as a tribute to BBW!
  10. Take your sound logic and GTFO of here! I know, I know... What was I thinking???
  11. I like how this guy thinks! I'm not a big fan of the flying coasters, myself. I enjoy Verbolten--something a bit different from the norm. I'm not knocking Verbolten, but you could pretty much replicate much of the Verbolten experience if you placed the ride elsewhere in the park, and Flying Coasters are perfect for being interactive terrain coasters! Myself, I really like them, so yeah, I'm all for anybody adding one, especially if it's well located. Obviously, it's not going to ever happen in Verbolten's spot, but I'm saying that I would have preferred that particular area be used for another terrain-interactive coaster like BBW. Not knocking Verbolten though...
  12. No. Just... no. Here's me when you're playing Pokemon Go... (J/k... sort of...)
  13. I desperately want to get to Germany... primarily to ride roller coasters! Sightseeing in Berlin, or other popular places is optional. I really want to get to the UK... primarily to ride roller coasters! Sightseeing in London is definitely going to happen as well, but is secondary. However, when it comes to Italy, I've wanted to go there simply for its beauty, and historical significance, and did I mention its beauty! I never realized they had any cool amusement parks or coasters there. Now that I see otherwise, I'm even MORE excited to get out to Italy someday, hopefully before too long! Thanks for the TR, and photos! They were all very entertaining, and in some cases, informative!
  14. Bayern Curve. So freaking crazy and just as good as I remembered it when I used to ride them as a kid. We did walk right on. You've read my report, we didn't do many flats, but don't skip that one. I wholeheartedly second this! Definitely don't skip Bayern Kurve! SO much fun! I completely agree! Kennywood really is a hidden gem of a park! I loved it when I had family that lived in Pittsburgh, and we could go whenever visiting them. Still, I'd gladly stop by again, even if just I'm passing through!
  15. Yeah, IH is one of CP's beers but it seems like they put it in a position in which it could be a clue. Of course anything's a possibility at this point so who knows Between that, the markers, the rumors of it closing after July, and a lot of wishful thinking. Where there's smoke there's Mean Streak. Again, I'd love for RMC Streak to be coming next year. But I'm tempering any hopes, let alone expectations, about that happening. FWIW, July 13 (tomorrow) was when it was announced that Disaster Transport would be closing at the end of July, back in 2012. I'm not saying past history is always predictive of future occurrences, but if we haven't had an announcement about Mean Streak closing at the end of July by the end of this week, I'm going to say it's not going to happen. Here's hoping though! (unless you're coasterbill! )
  16. Don't even get me started on this absurd practice...
  17. Cedar Fair: Fury Six Flags: El Toro SeaWorld Entertainment: Kraken Universal: Dueling Dragons (or whatever they're calling it now) Disney Parks: Expedition Everest Fun Spot: White Lightning (Just because it's obvious, doesn't mean it's not true! lol) Independent: The Voyage
  18. I feel like the unfortunate reality of the old Arrow Suspended coasters is that the "better" they are (as in - more forceful, more moments of hard swaying), the quicker they wear out, and the shorter their shelf life is. This would explain why coasters like BBW, and Eagle's Fortress are now gone, and coasters like Draggin' Iron at Cedar Point will likely last forever...
  19. Hey guys, I hate to put a damper on any possible clues for an RMC Streak (because yes, it likely WOULD be the best thing ever!), but Iron Horse on that board probably refers to Iron Horse Porter, which is a Brew Kettle Craft Beer that they sell at Cedar Point (themed to the CP&LE Railroad, according to THIS.) Additionally, Frontier Trail refers to Frontier Trail Ale, which I have actually partaken of at that very establishment a couple of times this year. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but sadly, I don't think this is a clue...
  20. That's what we did. That's what I'm doing too! I'm taking the $200 just on tickets I'm saving not going to Thrills in the Hills, and am either going to go to SDC for my Birthday weekend, or maybe PPP in October. Maybe both! lol Assuming I don't die before next year, however, I WILL get down to Dollywood finally, and ride all the goodies that it has to offer (and eat the the Cinnamon Bread, of course!) Hopefully LR is running a little more consistently at that point as well...
  21. ^THIS I loved Big Bad Wolf, and am still ticked they removed it (as I am with Drachen Fire as well - though at least I understand that one more!) However, Verbolten looks pretty awesome, and I look forward to riding it whenever I get back to BGW again, hopefully next year!
  22. ^I've been on Physics Days a number of times before, and it hasn't been remotely that bad... What you experienced was indeed atypical for a May weekday - though I will add, Tuesday through Thursday are your best bets for non-existent crowds. I've noticed that Valravn has really brought out higher crowds this year, which was part of what led to higher than normal crowds. Assuming they only get a Soak City expansion next year, I would expect weekday crowds in May to more like what they have been most years I've been there. Again though, if you're only going once every few years or more, I can understand it being worth it to you to get the FL+... I just think it's a shame people eat the system up, because that only means it'll get expanded, not go away, which is the direction I'd like to see all such systems that charge extra do! (They used to have a limited (2x use), free FL system at CP, and that was a much better way to go, and much more equitable...)
  23. I've always felt like the backlash against Six Flags was a little overblown in Coaster Enthusiast circles... Yeah, some of their parks' operations leave a bit to be desired, but I generally always have a great time when I go to one, regardless of the little annoying things! Even "the great Cedar Fair" has certain things about their parks that annoy me - but not enough to detract on the brand as a whole. Also, like was stated just above, I suspect that a lot more money will be poured into this project, given that it's in Dubai, than we typically see at other Six Flags branded parks!
