  1. Katie, read exactly what I said and infer that the multiple means that I think the idea that they're 8 inversions is stupid... however, Batwing's announcement said it had 8 inversions. http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/news/archives/february01/stories/021501_01.shtml also note here under Paramounts legal information page : http://www.paramountparks.com/corpinfo_legal_info.jsp If you know of any other Dutchman's that Elissa or I haven't pointed out, please let us know, and be sure to let us all know how that email response from Vekoma turns out
  2. I just got one. It's not super or nothing, but so far I have very good reliability with it as far as upload/download and not timing out, but it's certainly not got unlimited bandwidth. My final purchase price was 69$ front end, but only 4.99 a month... or so they say. Brian, who's hosted by VistaPages.
  3. BGWfreak, you have to take into account that Vekoma feels that Borg is an 8 inversion coaster, constituting an inversion every time the coaster goes from back to prone. 8 inversions would make it the loopest coaster in the country tied with Xflight and Batwing.
  4. I think GAm is one of the easier parks to navigate. Maybe it's just me though. I think SFMM is more confusing, and don't even get me started one the poor layout of SFA and SFKK.
  5. I utilize that too.. Just be VERY wary of the "lyric" sites that try to slip nasty progs onto your computer.
  6. ^^ That's Swamp Fox at Family Kingdom, Myrtle Beach SC. Rough? When did you ride it? It was glass when I was there two summers ago!
  7. I wasn't aware that it was even a "conspiracy", meaning that there was ANY doubt whatsoever. You want a finale that's actually a race rather than a "procession to victory", then you hold that plane for them... it's that simple. I'm glad Uchenna and Joyce won, they needed the money. I'm glad Rob/Amber didn't win, cause they didn't need it, although I think they played the best. I'm glad Ron/Kelly didn't win, even though I know her personally. Never said I LOVED her, just grew up with her. Poor Ron. Run away, Ron. Run away screaming into the night!
  8. I like the original version much better, myself. This version wasn't my favorite, but it didn't detract from the excellent footage. I'm not as worried about not liking one of Elissa's songs. You should hear what she has to say about some of the songs I LIKE. As far as you not thinking one coaster in a video would work, you should really do yourself a solid and download their Expedition GeForce video. Great stuff! Brian says, Go Gamecocks!
  9. Suckowinds? I guess from reading your TR and my experience there I don't really understand where that name came from. I see that you said it rained, but Carowinds is one of the FEW parks that will run coasters in the pouring down rain. You seemed to like a good amount of the coasters there, you noted how nice most things looked, you raved about Top Gun and the flyers, yet it was a ghetto park? I can only assume you meant the clientele, because IMO Carowinds is one of the prettiest of the Paramount parks. :-/ Maybe I mis-read something. Brian says, don't be SO sure that some of the "off-limits" areas at Heritage are actually that.
  10. Me and the girl joined this year just because it's worth it if we go to two events. No matter how bad "ACE" may be, it's better than admitting to getting a Coasterbuzz subscription just to go to CedarMania last year. Brian says, late or not, the photo layout of Thunderhead WAS impressive.
  11. "Where's Wyatt?" "Probably down by the riv'uh, walkin' on wat'uh." Groundhog Day
  12. Yes, I was there. It was a great day to be at the park. The Flyers were great as always until a little girl refused to get off the ride and succeeded in shutting down the ride for 30 minutes because she was a little brat. The worst part about it was her mom stood right there and refused to do anything about it. Brian says, Uggh I blame North Carolina.
  13. ^ That was the lick!!
  14. ^^ Big fan of your dog's eyes! 9/10 ^ Pretty dog! 8/10 This is my pet. Or it was my pet. Ok it was a one night stand at a deserted SFNO, but at least my ex-girlfriend Heather knew about it, she took the pic.
  15. I guess I just don't take music seriously enough like most of you ^^^^^. I don't care too much that things are "processed" or "fake". I don't hate Ashlee Simpson cause she's forced down everyone's throat, I hate her cause she can't sing. I love Linkin Park because they're the type of band I listen to before going to ride roller coasters. I never bought into the Dave Matthews Band hype, but they have a few good songs. I have a really short attention span for music of all genres. I play the first 30 seconds of most songs on my Winamp then skip to the next one. I have 7 gigs worth of music at the present time and don't listen to much of it, but can't break myself to delete it. I like music from the 80s, but little from the 70s. 95% of classic rock irritates the piss out of me and it seems that the classic rockers whine about music more than any other group. I'd rather listen to classical music than oldies, and I'd rather listen to the whole "And Justice for All" album all the way through than listen to half of an Aaron Carter song. Country music is cool, usually depending on whether I'm happily in a relationship, otherwise it's the type of music I believe Kurt Cobain was listening to when he loaded that shotty. A fuse went out in my CD player in my car, and I've lived 6 months driving around in complete silence, and it only bothered me the first week. There you have it. Make sense of all that and I have a Krispy Kreme crueller with your name on it.
  16. HEY! ^ Brian, who's 30. 8)
  17. I remember Mt. Olympus very much. I grew up in Myrtle Beach and often frequented Olympus. You remember correctly that it was located about 3 blocks off of the bypass in North Myrtle Beach. At the time there was a small amusement park on the corner which held a small woodie called "These United States". I never rode it as a youngster, but always stared at it as we drove past it to Mount Olympus. Check it : http://www.rcdb.com/ig2532.htm?picture=1 Anyway, on to M.O. As I recall it, there were only 3 slides from the top of the mountain. They varied from beginner, to intermediate to advanced. I do remember that a lesser slide broke into the advanced slide halfway down the mountain. I never really picked up on how they kept people from colliding with sliders from above, but I never remember a problem occuring. All the slides came together into one pool at the bottom. There may have been a tiny slide for the kiddies, but I don't recall. My aunt and uncle have a huge house a few blocks from that and my dad's side of the family gather for Christmas there. We drive right down that road every year and I look at the lot which is razed completely to the ground and is flat as a pancake. Ahh, memories... like the corners of my mind. Hope that helped. 8)
  18. I wasn't there, but knowing Robb and knowing Tommy, my guess is he was trying to put his package on people. Just a guess. 8)
  19. Waaay too much time spent upside down. Why couldn't the quickest part of the ride be the time traveling upside down?? If you wanna make it dramatic, then slow everyone down before the drop, but get them back rightside up ASAP! Looks like a coaster version of a Inverter (Looping Starship, Frenzoid, upside down Pirate, whatever it's called.)
  20. Guitar thing didn't work for me.
  21. I guess I'm not as big a video game nerd as I always aspired to be... for the life of me, I have no idea what the one between Super Mario Brothers and Mario getting the invincibility star. Brian says, Zelda is the best. EDIT : I did find out that clip was apparently Dr. Mario (never played it), but I did find a little cleaner version of them singing and it's in quicktime so you can go back and watch stuff over without having to do the whole thing... http://www.milkandcookies.com/links/28721/
  22. PG-13 Adult language, thematic elements, and brief nudity
  23. Gotcha beat Kroger! I used to work there! Yep, that's where I learned how to bartend! Here's a brief lineup of a few of the things we served : Alligator, Llama, Buffalo, Ox, Bear, Rabbit Sausage, Quail, Duck, Elk, Emu, Ostrich, Kangaroo And 90% of it is awesome too! Brian says, "MMmmmm"
  24. Yes, the 37 and a half sign is THE only remaining theming left of Wayne's World other than the names Scream Weaver and Hurler itself. I'm sure it's more just a case of them not realizing it and ripping the sign out. Great TR.
