Yep, everything except ya know, Intamin's confirmation that it won't be one... Other coasters with the new type of track: I305 (regular OTSR trains with straps), Formula Rossa (regular trains)... -
OFFICIAL Coaster Polls!
TB305 replied to Imagineer Josh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1.) There is almost nothing official about this poll. 2.)You're only giving us 30 to choose from, essentially you're telling us to rank a specific set of coasters in relation to the other (limited) options. This list is far from comprehensive on best coasters in the US", and a lot of them aren't commonly hailed as top 30 worthy, which begs the question: Is this list of voting options simply a list of your favorite coasters? If that's true, this poll is pretty pointless and lacking many fan favorites that people would have otherwise voted for, given that the poll was made of a comprehensive list of coasters. ***That being said, Fury 325 for the win. -

It's at this point where all the people who complained about a "boring layout/worst RMC" are silenced I can't wait to see this coaster in action! -

^Was that from this current storm? Holy Crap. -
Very interesting, thank you for enlightening me! I would have never guessed Blue Fire and Verbolten's LSM systems were contacted outside the manufacturers! Robb, do you think they'll keep the launch/drive tire system then? I would imagine the drive tires need to be replaced and maintained far more often than an LSM fin, so if they are spending all of this money on some new track and trains, would it even be a possibility that they would spend money on a more efficient laucnh system?

What's the lamest first drop you have been on?
TB305 replied to Quetzal's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Interesting, I actually quite enjoyed the unorthodox helix up high before diving towards the river. I thought Great Bear was a superb ride, and I never really got the hate that it catches from many of my enthusiast friends, but that's just my opinion! EDIT: ^Holy crap Loch Ness Monster's drop in the back or second to back row is pure awesomeness, I feel like I'll be killed in the back being whipped around the end of the turn into that drop! One of my favorite drops to be honest (in the front, it is incredibly lackluster though). As for the lamest drop I have been on? Probably Hurler at KD, just pure garbage. I found Great Bear's helix incredibly forceful. I haven't ridden it in 5 years, but if I recall correctly I'd rank it as one of the more forceful V&M helixes. It is what makes this ride so neat. I disagree every bit with you about Lochness. It has the best Arrow drop in the back rows (other than maybe X2). I was absolutley shxoked and caught off guard this summer - I had no idea it would be that food! I said Loch Ness' drop was awesome, you may be replying to the wrong person here... -

RMC held a Q&A on Facebook last night, and a very successful one at that. They confirmed that the T-rex style track will have all steel supports. I asked if they would be willing to go to 200 or 300+ feet if a park wanted them to and they said they were up for the challenge! They also said atleast one park has already planned a T-rex coaster in the very near future, so that's cool! It's so cool to see a manufacturer interacting and talking with enthusiasts so much!

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
TB305 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'll chime in here, I've never seen someone get off shockwave and say anything to the effect of "That was fun!" No one liked it really except for a select few on this board *ahem*. Its only redeeming quality was weird standup ejector over the hill before the helix. Then it was the equivalent of crashing in an airplane. -

Hey guys, I just wanted to show you a custom nanocoaster I made for maverick! I know it's not perfect, but its still not done! I have to cut the base and possibly paint it as well as touching up the metal portions! Let me know what you think! -

I still think it's funny that people complain about those restraints. Sure they're not *super* comfy, but they aren't painful, you just feel pressure on your thighs. Anyone who whines about the restraints at this point needs to grow a pair, because Skyrush is a beast of a mega coaster. Anywho, is there any new footer work being done? Any idea what that giant hole is for from a few pages back? -
What's causing the U.S Intamin drought?
TB305 replied to fraroc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Correct, Larry Giles (the head engineer at BG) distrusts Intamin. They went with Moser for Mach Tower and hey, look where that got them! Worse reliability than an unreliable Intamin, as its closed 1/2 the times I visit BG, and I go fairly often. I also wish Intamin was chosen for Verbolten because Verbolten has a nasty rattle after the event building. Viva le Intamin! -
